#WorkThatBuildsYou
“Now that's kinda crazy. I'm not really sure how work is gonna show up in heaven, but I got the news right here is that whatever you're doing today and tomorrow, it matters because your deeds are going to follow you. Why? Because it turns out that God's not just using your work to spread the gospel. He's using your work to build you. God was in the garden with Adam, it was never about the seeds and the grass and the trees. He could've sneezed and made that. Instead, he gave it to Adam to work it. Why? So that Adam would learn to trust him, so that Adam would learn to be connected to him, so that Adam could know what it was like to cultivate something.”

“Now hear me, God's law is downstream from his grace. Sometimes we can get it in our mind that we have to obey God's law if we're going to get God's grace, which is antithetical to how we need to understand grace. Grace is God giving us things that we have not deserved. Where does God's law come? It comes after God delivered the nation of Israel out of Egypt. After he has delivered them and shown them that grace, then he gives them God's law. God's law are these guardrails on how we are to live, both in relationship with God and relationship with man. This is the same for us Christians. All the laws are not the same, but still God has given us guardrails on how we might live in relationship. Because obedience to God's law, to God's word comes because of a relationship that we have with him. God delivered Israel out of Egypt and then he says this is how you must live.”

“So God often gives us enough light for the next step. He doesn't show us tomorrow. He gives enough light for today. He will show you the right thing to do next. His word will keep you from walking in total darkness. The word is not just information. This bible is illumination. You get this. You know, I don't know what to do right now. Get in the book, and God will God will speak to your heart, and all of a sudden you'll go, really? Where did that come from? God. God gives you enough light to get you through the day. That's why he said, hey. Don't worry about tomorrow. The things of tomorrow will take care of themselves. Now you ought to schedule. You ought to plan. You ought to do what you need to, but don't worry about it. Just do the light that God's given you today.”

“``If you are saying, I don't know what God wants in your bible's clothes, well, dear friend, why should you expect anything other than darkness? You cannot expect the will of God if you're not in the word of God, because that's where it's found. So we walk through these things. Number one, he is God, we are not. Number two, understand the distinction between God's universal will and what we would just call his specific plan. Number three, seek God's will, or I maybe should say will or plan. Alright? So seek God's will first, not last. Okay? Seek God's will first not last. Matthew six thirty three, but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteous, and all these things shall be added unto you. Seek it first. Now when I say that, we we we like to say that, we like to sing that, we probably know that verse by heart. It's different though when people sing it and say it, but they don't live it.”

“Can I tell you what they need most of all? Our children need for their parents to cry out to God on their behalf. And I wonder if there are some of us here today that need to step out from where we're sitting and come down to this altar for one reason alone to say, God, I wanna pray for my children. They're still in the home. They're growing up. They've moved out. It doesn't matter. God, I want to plead with you on behalf of my kids that you would bless them, that you would care for them, that you would protect them, that you would shield them because the enemy is coming after our children. The enemy wants to turn them and sway them more than he wants anything else. But what if we stood in that gap and said, I will fight for you.”

#WorkWithPurpose
“See, the fall does not get to dictate God's design for work. God's redemption means that his design for order, for beauty, and for benefit is still available to us through Jesus. That when we choose to be co laborers with God, co partners with God, and put ourselves in his shoes and say, God, how do you want the gospel to be where I am? Then not only does our work matter now, it also has eternal value.”

#EverydayWork
“See, you were given a little patch of garden just like Adam, and whatever that patch of garden is, he's giving you a domain to subdue it. So even if you're retired, you still got work to do. Even if you're a stay at home parent, you've got work to do. If you're flipping burgers, those burgers are a domain that God is giving you to yield order, beauty, and benefit.”

#LeaveItBetter
“So I don't know. I think there's something to not just the next generation, but also like, man, just. It's the boy scout rule. Just leave it better than you found it, you know, Instead of looking back to the past. What can we do for the future? What can we do to make earth look more like heaven? Yeah, that's a good word. Lots of great wisdom. And there's so, so much more in here. Like keep reading the book of Ecclesiastes. Keep reading the books of wisdom literature in the Bible. There's so much application in there.”

#ChooseYourPath
“This is like choose your own adventure day, right? So like maybe like me, you need to learn calmness can deescalate a situation. Maybe you need to apply that today. Maybe like Vivian, you need to find a friend that will tell you the truth. Maybe like Miko. Name redeemed. That's right.”

#NameRedemption
“Maybe like Miko, maybe your name doesn't smell great. You can do something about that today. Maybe like Zach, quit looking at the past with rose colored glasses. We got the forward, we got the future in front of us. We gotta move forward. There's something for you to do today. I think God's picking your heart, pricking your heart with it. Put it into action.”
