#GodsFaithfulness
“Paul has experienced, he has experienced abandonment, hardship, imprisonment, and now he's close to the end of his life. But he doesn't end his testimony by talking about those who left him. He talks about the Lord who stood with him. Can you say amen? Amen. Because people may not always understand our season. Really. You know, really. Some people is like, it goes over their head. It's like, people may not understand. Some relationships may change. Physical strength may diminish, but God's faithfulness remains.”

“Jesus does not go back on his promises. And we live the fruits of his promises today because when we say goodbye to the old Adam, the sinful self that clings to us, when we trust that through Christ, the old Adam has drowned and dies, and a new person emerges daily, then we begin to live with peace and harmony. And we begin to look forward instead of backwards. And what a joy looking forward, looking to the full redemption of his promise. The full revelation of his promise, I mean. When we do that, what a joy that is to us. Because it gives us hope to trust. That there will be a time when we will never have to say goodbye again.”

“We're the sinners. And the only way that sinful people can live forever in God's good, restored creation is for God to make us new. That's what Jesus offers you today. Turn from your sin, trust in a crucified and risen savior, And the Christ who will one day make all things new will begin by making you new.”

“You may give your tithes, but you're not treating people right. I've known people, you have too, who would tie their income right down to the penny, but they were downright mean. downright mean. They were not good to their families. They were disturbed in the church. They were filled with prejudice. They had to twist that and if they had to twist the truth to make a profit, well, that's just business.”

“Because God knows that when you get upset that things might not be as they appear. You know, all of us make mistakes, and and I'm not trying to put down emotion. But when we get emotional, sometimes we see things differently. Sometimes we don't accurately have the full picture. But but in Jesus' day, he's trying to reconcile. And I had a situation in one of the churches that I served that I didn't use Jesus' example.”

“Where are you in this story today? Do you need to receive the good news? Do you need to encounter Jesus? Or is there something that God is calling you to do in faith? Maybe he's calling you to be baptized. Maybe he's calling you to become a member. Maybe he's calling you to take a step of leadership or maybe start discipling and sharing the gospel with someone else. Or is it time to tell someone what Jesus has done in your life? The good news is meant to be shared, and God can use ordinary people like you and me to point others to Jesus.”

“I wanna try to pull all this back to our theme of entrusted because here's what we want you to carry out of here this morning. Three of those four soils received the seed. Right? But only one of them produced anything. Read it again if you want. See the path that got seed, but it was snatched away. Now the rocky ground got seed and it even sprouted. The the thorny ground got seed and it grew. So exposure was not the issue. Enthusiasm was not the issue. Taking root, letting the roots grow in there, that was the issue. And this is exactly why this series, why we're not starting with our money. Well, why we're not starting with with our calendar. Because if we stood up here and we gave you a six week plan of how you should steward all of your things and your resources and tell you this is foolproof without actually addressing the heart and a heart that is not rooted in Christ, man, we'd be setting you up for failure. We'd set ourselves up for failure because we'd be setting you up with something that you could not finish. Because you you would manage to steward it for a while, and it would look good for a season, but then the sun would come out. And you can't steward what hasn't taken root.”

#EternalHope
“Paul's confidence was not that he would necessarily escape execution. It was that God would preserve him for his heavenly kingdom. Can you say amen? We can't we can't lose our focus on eternity. So the same god who was faithful through our yesterdays will be faithful with our future or when winter comes. Right? I mean, we can see the contrast. Look, between verse six and verse 13.”

#FaithAndPreparation
“Think about it. A man of extraordinary faith, yet he still needs a coat. Spiritual maturity does not eliminate practical needs. He recognizes that winter is coming and makes preparation. It's not like, okay. The lord will provide. I'm gonna be warm. No. No. Blink my cloth. Very simple. I I mean, and this could connect with different areas. It could connect with aging, health, finances, relationships, practical planning. So this is the thing, church. Faith is not ignoring the coming winter, which is around the corner, by the way. Sometimes, faith is having the wisdom to bring your coat.”

#ChooseForgiveness
“Think about it. Three men, three experiences of injustice, three expressions of mercy. Because, yeah, if we don't be careful, we can become bitter. And this is the thing, I I only have one point left, but forgiveness is not pretending the wrong never happened. But it is refusing to let the wrong control what happens next. Amen. Amen?”
