#FuelYourFaith
“Okay. A fire can grow really dim, and we've got our wood fire going on at home at the moment, can grow really really dim. And unless we feed it with more wood to keep it going, it goes out. The water's gone and the light's gone. And we're like that as Christians. We need to stay connected. Now I know I'm preaching to the choir here because you're here, but we need to stay connected, here or in small groups or with other friends or in prayer groups or whatever it is so that we can fuel the flame of our faith. Because we need our faith to be courageous so that we can then share it. Proverbs, twenty seven seventeen says, as sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. So we need to be sharpening each other so that we can be effective, because we can become blunt and ineffective. So we need the fellowship of others to keep sharp. Once again, the Hebrews three thirteen that I mentioned before, encourage one another daily. So get in fellowship, encourage one another. We need that to keep us ticking over.”

#PrayAndListen
“``So individual prayer is essential. It's not a ritual. It's conversing with God, having a conversation with him because we want to. It's not on the okay. I've gotta do 27 things today. Tick. Prayer with God is a conversation with God, the one who loves you most. If you can hold a conversation with anyone else, you can pray to God because that's all it is, having conversation with him. But also take time to be the person in the conversation who listens. My favorite verse is Psalm forty six ten. Be still and know that I am God. In our busy lives, it's easy not to be still. And if we're not still, we might not take the time to know that he is God. So in our prayer time, be still knowing that he's God.”

#AlwaysBeReady
“Courageous faith is possible for all of us. We need to remember that God is good. We need to press into the holy spirit to lead and guide us. We need to pray, and we need to meet together. And I'm skipping a whole page because I know time is tight. I wanted to jump to one Peter three fifteen. Did I have a slide for that? Yes. Always be ready and prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks for the faith that you have. This is where the real courageous faith comes in now. So I've given you four hints about how you can fuel, your courage and your faith, but there's a reason for it. Because we then don't need to keep our message in this bubble here. We actually need to take it out where we go.”

#TestTheSpirit
“So when considering the prompting of the holy spirit, also have a safeguard. I wanna throw out just a warning here. Does it fit with the nature of god? So and it might be that someone has said to you, a holy spirit has said to me that such and such. Safeguard it. Does it fit with the nature of god? Does it align with scripture? If it does, embrace it. But if it doesn't, reject it. So Andrew would say, no deal. So if you're not sure if it's the leading of the holy spirit, if those two safety nets are there, go for it.”

#GodAbsorbsAnger
“Slowly over the months, not days, months, something changed. Not an answer, not an explanation, because there was none, but a sense that his anger was not bouncing off and coming back at him, that it was being absorbed, it was being received, it was being held, and it wasn't being retaliated against. Thomas returned to faith, a harder, deeper faith than he had before. He said, discovered that God was big enough to take my fury. He didn't flinch. He absorbed it. And that told me more about his love than thirty years of easy belief.”

#NotAloneInTheDark
“She came in quietly, checked all the monitors, and then instead of leaving, pulled up a chair and sat beside her. She sat there in the dark. After an hour, Sarah noticed she was still there, and she turned to her and said, why are you still here? And Grace simply replied, because nobody should see in the dark alone. Sarah later told me that in that moment, she felt not an explanation of her son's suffering, not a reason, but a presence.”

#EmmanuelWithUs
“But when fear arises, we assume that the answer is to push it down, take a take control, get a grip. Yet scripture says something far gentler. The word of God says, don't be afraid. I am with you. My peace, I give to you. And these are not instructions. These are offers, invitations, and bids for attachment and connection. They are Emmanuel, with us. He never leaves, never has, never will.”

#GodInTheCell
“That image changed James' perspective. The idea that God hadn't sent a memo from a safe distance, that in Christ, God had entered into the darkest cell of human experience, addiction, shame, abandonment, all that, and had come out the other side alive, victorious. Redemption for James wasn't about God himself being paid off. It was about realizing he had company in his cell and that the door had already been opened from the inside.”

#FormedByFaith
“Because the kind of life we're talking about isn't limited to one role. It's not just about motherhood. It's about formation. Yeah? It's about what happens in a person when they keep coming back to Jesus again and again and again. That's what a mature life a mature life begins to look like. Not because she performed something, not because she had all the answers, but because something had been formed in her over time as she stayed with Jesus.”

#FaithCarriedOn
“He hasn't just started something in us. He's carrying it forward steadily, faithfully over time. God hasn't just started something in these women. He's been carrying it forward through them into the next generation. And maybe that's probably one of the most beautiful pictures of maturity there is, a life so formed by Jesus that it begins to form others.”
