#PrayAndListen
“``So individual prayer is essential. It's not a ritual. It's conversing with God, having a conversation with him because we want to. It's not on the okay. I've gotta do 27 things today. Tick. Prayer with God is a conversation with God, the one who loves you most. If you can hold a conversation with anyone else, you can pray to God because that's all it is, having conversation with him. But also take time to be the person in the conversation who listens. My favorite verse is Psalm forty six ten. Be still and know that I am God. In our busy lives, it's easy not to be still. And if we're not still, we might not take the time to know that he is God. So in our prayer time, be still knowing that he's God.”

#TestTheSpirit
“So when considering the prompting of the holy spirit, also have a safeguard. I wanna throw out just a warning here. Does it fit with the nature of god? So and it might be that someone has said to you, a holy spirit has said to me that such and such. Safeguard it. Does it fit with the nature of god? Does it align with scripture? If it does, embrace it. But if it doesn't, reject it. So Andrew would say, no deal. So if you're not sure if it's the leading of the holy spirit, if those two safety nets are there, go for it.”

#FuelYourFaith
“Okay. A fire can grow really dim, and we've got our wood fire going on at home at the moment, can grow really really dim. And unless we feed it with more wood to keep it going, it goes out. The water's gone and the light's gone. And we're like that as Christians. We need to stay connected. Now I know I'm preaching to the choir here because you're here, but we need to stay connected, here or in small groups or with other friends or in prayer groups or whatever it is so that we can fuel the flame of our faith. Because we need our faith to be courageous so that we can then share it. Proverbs, twenty seven seventeen says, as sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. So we need to be sharpening each other so that we can be effective, because we can become blunt and ineffective. So we need the fellowship of others to keep sharp. Once again, the Hebrews three thirteen that I mentioned before, encourage one another daily. So get in fellowship, encourage one another. We need that to keep us ticking over.”

#AlwaysBeReady
“Courageous faith is possible for all of us. We need to remember that God is good. We need to press into the holy spirit to lead and guide us. We need to pray, and we need to meet together. And I'm skipping a whole page because I know time is tight. I wanted to jump to one Peter three fifteen. Did I have a slide for that? Yes. Always be ready and prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks for the faith that you have. This is where the real courageous faith comes in now. So I've given you four hints about how you can fuel, your courage and your faith, but there's a reason for it. Because we then don't need to keep our message in this bubble here. We actually need to take it out where we go.”
