#RiseUpSaveMe
“We do have a prayer here that we can pray that the psalmist prays and asks God to save him. Verse seven, rise up, Lord. Save me, my God. You strike all my enemies on the cheek. You break the teeth of the wicked. The psalmist cries out to God and says, Lord, I need you right now. You've got to show up right now. I'm fleeing for my life. I need you to go before me. I need your protection. Lord, I need you to actually be the aggressor, and I need you to defeat my enemies. You you notice that David's not asking the god here, hey, give me the strength, give me the wisdom to defeat my enemies. He's saying, God, go before me. Lord, you go and you defeat those who are standing against me, who are standing against you.”

#GodOurProtector
“The hope, the truth, what scripture teaches us, what David discovered and David wants to tell us is, we have a shield. We have protection. We have somewhere to run and someone to hide behind who is willing to take all of the blows for us. Who is willing to take all of the arrows that are aimed at us. Someone who is willing to speak truth in our hearts and truth in our minds and set us on the right path when our own heart and our own mind begins to lead us the wrong way. The only shield that we have, the only place that we can run to, the only true source of protection in our lives is the Lord God Almighty himself.”

#SalvationAndNothingElse
“And I think that the psalmist here, the salvation is is is two different two different areas. Salvation from your enemies, protection from your enemies, salvation from the destruction that they want to bring in your life, but also salvation from your sense. And what the Psalmist declares here is something I believe that we all need to hear, there is salvation and nothing else. All the things that we're tempted to run to to save us, to make us whole, to to to find a complete sense of of of ourself. There's salvation and nothing else other than Christ.”

#OnlyLordShield
“``This morning, the great shield in our lives is only the Lord. Listen, there there is no other shield for you, believer or unbeliever. There is nowhere else to turn for protection in your life. We we we have fake shields that we like to run to and hide behind, but they do nothing to protect us. The only shield that we have in our lives for protection is the Lord God Almighty.”

#RunToRefuge
“Rebellion against God is running from God, and that's what we see in verses one, two, and three. The nations rebel against God. The nations wanna throw off God's authority. The nations want to run away from God. And what does the psalmist say in the last sentence? Find your refuge in God. The contrasting idea here is running to God. In your life, with your problems, with all that you've got going on, tempting you to run away from God. I can fix this. I know how to correct this. I know the answers for this. I I know how to handle what's coming at me. I can I can take care of this problem? And instead of running away from God, what the Lord wants us to do is run to him, to find refuge in him, to find our completion in him, our purpose in him. The way to serve is to be found in him. Instead of running from God in your life, run to him and find your refuge in him and in him alone.”

#RefugeInPsalm
“Take refuge in the lord. Psalm two. Psalms two is the first place that we see that word refuge in the book of Psalms, and it is repeated over and over and over and over and over again. This idea of us running to the Lord as our refuge is a common theme all throughout the book of Psalms. And the picture of it here is the idea of it here is, when you're in need, run to the Lord. When you have a problem, run to the Lord. When you're in danger, run to the Lord. When your heart wants to stray from him, run to the Lord. refuge in him. He is your protection. He is your source of wisdom. He is your direction you should be going in life. He will give that direction to you. He is your strength. He will provide everything that you need in this life. The Lord is your life, and he will provide for you.”

#DontDefyTheCreator
“It it's ridiculous to think that we, as the created being, have any authority or say over the one who created us. It's almost as if the ant, the little tiny ant says to the foot that's about to crush it under its own weight. You have no authority over me. You can't stomp on me, and then smack. God is God, and that's why it says that he laughs and he ridicules those who have this mindset. We need to be aware that that rebellion in our heart is actually against the God of the universe who created everything that is around us, and it is pointless to rebel against a sovereign and all powerful and all knowing God.”

#HopeRenewed
“``You know, if the psalmist stopped here, we would have no hope. If the gospel stops at telling us that we're sinners, we have no hope. The psalmist continues on. The psalmist gives us hope. The lord speaks to our rebellion in the next two stanzas. The gospel speaks to our sin as Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and and rose from the dead from our sins. That's how the gospel speaks to our sins. There is hope against the rebellion that's in our hearts. There is hope against the the sin that is in my heart.”

#PraiseTheCreator
“The psalmist praises the Lord. The psalmist worships God. The psalmist celebrates God because he is, and these two things go together. God is sovereign, and God is the creator of all things. The psalmist very clearly shares with us that the earth and everything in it, the world and all of its inhabitants, every single planet, every single ocean, every mineral that is in the earth, every single person that has ever lived, anything ours are his. The money that I have in my bank account is his. My life is his because he created me. He created this earth. He created this universe and everything in it. God is the sovereign creator of all things.”

#GodSustainsAll
“``God sustains this universe. He upholds this universe. That that that tells me that that God didn't just create everything that we see, create this entire world and universe, and then take his hands off of it and remove himself from his creation and let chaos ensue. No. God still has his hand at work in the world around us. Not just making sure that the planets rotate the way that they ought to to rotate and revolve the way that they ought to revolve and the galaxies stay in their proper place, but but God's hand is at work in that grand scale, but also in the microscale in your individual life.”
