#OnlyLordShield
“``This morning, the great shield in our lives is only the Lord. Listen, there there is no other shield for you, believer or unbeliever. There is nowhere else to turn for protection in your life. We we we have fake shields that we like to run to and hide behind, but they do nothing to protect us. The only shield that we have in our lives for protection is the Lord God Almighty.”

#GodOurProtector
“The hope, the truth, what scripture teaches us, what David discovered and David wants to tell us is, we have a shield. We have protection. We have somewhere to run and someone to hide behind who is willing to take all of the blows for us. Who is willing to take all of the arrows that are aimed at us. Someone who is willing to speak truth in our hearts and truth in our minds and set us on the right path when our own heart and our own mind begins to lead us the wrong way. The only shield that we have, the only place that we can run to, the only true source of protection in our lives is the Lord God Almighty himself.”

#SalvationAndNothingElse
“And I think that the psalmist here, the salvation is is is two different two different areas. Salvation from your enemies, protection from your enemies, salvation from the destruction that they want to bring in your life, but also salvation from your sense. And what the Psalmist declares here is something I believe that we all need to hear, there is salvation and nothing else. All the things that we're tempted to run to to save us, to make us whole, to to to find a complete sense of of of ourself. There's salvation and nothing else other than Christ.”

#RiseUpSaveMe
“We do have a prayer here that we can pray that the psalmist prays and asks God to save him. Verse seven, rise up, Lord. Save me, my God. You strike all my enemies on the cheek. You break the teeth of the wicked. The psalmist cries out to God and says, Lord, I need you right now. You've got to show up right now. I'm fleeing for my life. I need you to go before me. I need your protection. Lord, I need you to actually be the aggressor, and I need you to defeat my enemies. You you notice that David's not asking the god here, hey, give me the strength, give me the wisdom to defeat my enemies. He's saying, God, go before me. Lord, you go and you defeat those who are standing against me, who are standing against you.”
