"If there's something that the church of Jesus Christ lacks today is people that know how to listen and how to follow. Everybody's their own man. Jessica, everybody's their own woman. And they'll tell you, I'm my own woman. As they understand is that God said, I will, according to Jeremiah chapter 3 of the hooker, He said, I will give you what? It's right over here. 3 .15. I will give you pastors according to my heart." [00:20:42]
"Because that's not the kind of food that I want because I know that that food will make me sick. Are you hearing me? From bacteria, from things that are in there that can cause you to become extremely sick. But when you understand that following after the shepherd, you're not just eating all kinds of dietary foods or whatever you think you should eat, you're eating what God told you to eat. That's why David understood. He said, I want you to lead me into green pastures. I want you to lead me somewhere where I can have the proper food that my digestive system can work properly." "Some of you ought to be jumping up and down because you have more today than you ever had in your life. And it's because of the grace of God. And it's because of the church. Because if you were still out in the world living in sin, you wouldn't have what you have right now. Are you hearing me? It feels good to own your own home, doesn't it? It feels good when you put that key into that house. You can say, Lord, I thank you for what you've given to us. Not that I deserve it. My God, undeserving is what we are." [00:28:54]
"God said a man or God said a woman must repent of their sins. And when you repent of your sins, you begin to go to God and you begin to search your own closet. Are you hearing me? Literally, as well as figuratively, you begin to search your mind. You begin to search your heart. You begin to search your friends. You begin to search your associates. And you look at it and say, God, I want to be what you would have me to be. But I got to get rid of some things." [00:42:11]
"Ah, in the midst of all that we're going through and the green pastures that King David talked about. He said, listen, He restoreth my soul. Some of you came in here and you were famished. You had so much mess in you. God had to pull it out, Joaquin, a little bit at a time. He began to take the stuff out of you that you thought was valuable. And He let you see how full of mess we really are. He began to take that stuff out of you. The taste for sin. The desire for sin." [00:47:11]
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. There are times that you are going to walk in such dark places, Darlene, that you can't even seem to find light to lead you or to guide you. Lord, I'm in this valley and everywhere I look in this valley, it's dark. Everywhere I look in this valley, it's dingy. Everywhere I look in this valley, there seems to be no hope. He said, yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. In other words, death is trying to grab a hold of me. But I realize it's only a shadow." [00:50:25]
"David began to understand how powerful God is. He said, I will fear no evil. Some of you all of your life have been fearful. Every time you turn around, something is there to try to make you afraid. Or try to make you go down and feel like you have no value. And feel like there's no reason for you to live. There's no reason for you to abide. There's no reason even for you to get in your car. My God, I feel like getting a little deeper. The devil will tell you there's no reason to get up and brush your teeth." [00:54:39]
"The valley of the shadow of death. And mine mean. That you're gonna have to shed some tears. And mine mean. That you're gonna be a little disappointed. And mine mean. That some of your friends. Are gonna walk away. But Isaiah said. Every valley. Shall be exalted. So you were down there in the valley. And you felt like you couldn't get out. But God said. I'm gonna exalt. The valley. Because I'm gonna give you experience. That you never had before. I'm gonna pick you up. I'm gonna turn you around. I'm gonna give you a hope. That nobody's been able to give you. But Jesus." "Don't let the devil tell you that being in the church is the worst thing that ever happened to me. Come on. You need to think about where you were just a little while ago. You need to think about how you were spending $10, $11, $12 every time you went to 7 -Eleven for a pack of cigarettes. Are you hearing me? You need to remember how you couldn't even make it home without stopping by the liquor store to get something to warm you up." [01:12:06]
"Somebody say, I thank God, bring it down a little bit and say, I thank God for saving me, I thank God for delivering me, I thank God that I don't need a bottle of vodka to feel good, I don't need a Heineken to feel good, I don't need a wreath to feel good, but all I got to do is still think about how I've been delivered from all of that mess, and you begin to think about the blessings of the Lord." "Through the valley and it'll cause the mountains to come down huh my sister's been singing that song for years but over the last few days when I began to really research that God said I'm not always going to allow you to climb a mountain he said sometime I'm going to have give you favor and I'm going to bring the mountain down are y 'all hearing me because sometimes some of y 'all think the only way I can get to the top is I got a claw my way up God said this time you're not gonna claw I'm coming down I'm gonna bring the mountain down I'm gonna bring the mountain down come on somebody and I won't give you high feet I'm gonna make you like a female deer what do you mean by that Jesus the predator is still coming the devil is still coming he's still going to try to knock your black off but God's gonna hide you in the shadow of his arms he's hiding you" [01:25:32]
"Don't try to be your own shepherd. God never called you to be a shepherd. God called you to be a sheep. Are you hearing me? They also say sheep, in some cases, are dull of hearing. I've heard people say that, you know, people say dumb sheep. They call them all kinds. I'm not going to go that far today. But I do understand that as far as some of the intelligentsia of animals, the sheep are not on the top of the list. But I understand something that is clear to me. They know how to listen and they know how to follow." [00:19:42]
