I trust in God, my Savior, the one who will never fail, who will never fail. I trust in God, my Savior, the one who will never fail, who will never fail. And I trust in you.
Come on, who's ready for the faithfulness of God today? Amen.
So remain standing just for a second. I love that song for a lot of reasons. It's just a great song. Amen. But you know, I want you to really lean into the lyric of what you just sang. It says, "I sought the Lord. He heard and he answered." That's past.
And what God has done in his past should be fuel for our present. And the second part of that is, that's why I trust him. See, God is faithful, and the truth is a lot of times when life happens and we go through things—and we talked about this today a little bit—that we want God to deliver us.
And can I just say this, based on God's faithfulness, that he's the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow? And as Matt said a few minutes ago, if you're in Christ, you are a child of God. Somebody say amen. Then Father's made a promise, and that promise is this: I'm just going to be with you.
Like in Isaiah chapter 43, four times he said, "I will, I will, I will, I will." I'm going to be with you. And so sometimes God—you know, you need to understand this—not sometimes, all the time, no matter what you're going through, God never leaves you nor forsakes you.
All right, that's the first thing. Here's the big thing though: a lot of times when we're going through stuff, we want God to deliver us. Oh God, get me out of this. Now we've all prayed it. I mean, I've prayed it. If you say you haven't prayed it, you're a liar, because we've all been there.
God, sometimes we just need to slow down and realize that God's preparing for us and in us what he had, you know, preparing us for what he has for us in our future. And so instead of praying, "God, deliver us," we need to start praying, "God, develop us." Not just "God, deliver me," but "God, develop me in the midst of this."
And why can we pray that? Because I sought the Lord, he heard me, and he answered me, so I know what God has done, so therefore I'm going to trust him for what he's doing. Amen?
And so that's Proverbs 3:5 and 6. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Lean not unto thine own understanding. In all of your ways, past, present, and trusting with your future, acknowledge him, because he's promised to direct your paths. Amen?
If you're with me, put your hands together. Come on, somebody. Amen? God is good.
Lord, we are here today in your presence. Thank you that we can come into your house to be able to bow our heads and just talk to you. It's mind-blowing. Billions of people on this planet, and yet sovereign to be in this place in this moment with us.
I pray today, Lord, that we would give our full attention to your word, that we will allow you, Holy Spirit, to speak. I'm so grateful for what you have done. I'm thankful for what you're doing. Amen?
In the midst of difficulties, some are in a great season, some are just in a trying season, and some are just coming out of a season. God, may we always, as we just sang, never forget that we sought you, you heard us, you answered, and we can trust you now.
I pray, God, as we open up your word, that you would just speak, that you would use it, God, in a way that you'd like to. God, we are thankful that we can have this relationship with you.
And no matter where anybody's joining us, whether they're sitting in this room or sitting somewhere around the world in a living room, we pray that thy will be done in all things. May your word take root in our heart, produce fruit in our lives, we pray, in your most beautiful name, Lord Jesus, and all God's kids said, amen.
Go ahead and have a seat. I'm going to ask you a very important question. I ask it a lot. I'm not a granite, you're not a church, so listen up and answer appropriately.
I am not asking you if you like Jesus. I am asking you if Jesus Christ has radically redeemed and restored your life by his amazing grace and mercy. If you love Jesus today, would you put your hands together and celebrate him?
Welcome to everybody that's joining us online. Grateful that you are here with us. You know, all the time, we have new people in our church. Our church continues to grow. You don't realize this, but I tell you a lot. We do 11 services every week at Granite United. It's absolutely incredible.
I love what God is doing in our church. Thousands of people assemble on multiple days, different services, different locations. And if you're going to call Granite United home, you need to understand the heart of our church.
Our heart is we're going to start more campuses for the glory of God. Amen. Why would we do that? Because Hope has a name, and its name is Jesus. And we're going to provide more places and spaces, more seats for your family and friends in our communities to come and find a place where they can hear the forever life-changing message of Jesus.
Jesus Christ, we're going to birth more churches. Like, you know, God has not just called us to fill rooms. That's not what he's called us. He's not just called us to reach the towns and cities that we're presently in. He's called us to impact this region, reach this nation, and touch the world.
And so we do that through church planting. We do that through missions. We talked about that for the past few weeks. You know, 22 of us just got back from Guatemala City, which was absolutely incredible. And working in Arkansas, our orphanage, and in our feeding centers. It was just an incredible thing.
And the reason we do all of this is because we want to draw attention to ourselves to bring glory to God. Because there are things that we know that people we love and care about don't know. You know, we know things about sending a Savior, heaven and hell. We know what the Bible teaches.
We know what does the Bible say. What does the Bible say in proper context? And we constantly wrestle with the tension of what are you going to do? And so we are serious about God's word, about his mission, about his message, about the great commission, great commandment, and the golden rule.
That's what we just talked about the last three weeks at Granite United in a little nutshell. And so we're one church in multiple locations that we're willing to do anything short of sin to bring people to Jesus. Amen?
Yesterday we had a newer person, just a new person, come through the doors of our church. And they were great. And just introducing ourselves. "Hey man, what up, what up?" And they said, "Is there a pastor here?"
Well, are you going to be disappointed? That'd be me. And the first thing he did was went. I said, "Yeah, this is the best I got, man. This is it. You're going to come to Granite United. You come and it's family gathering around in Father's house. Come on, somebody. And we're just going to enjoy church."
And we had a big show. It was kind of funny. But, you know, I love what God is doing in our church. And we're not backing down. We just aren't.
And, you know, one of the things that I pray constantly for me and for you, for every campus, every service, again, knowing what we know. Here's what I pray. Every morning I start off in my dungeon at 6:10 a.m. with my Bible and prayer.
And one of the things that I pray is this: that God, you will fill our hearts with a holy discontent. I love the heart of our church. I love where our church is. I love that we've grown deeper and wider this year. I love that we love God, that we love people, and we want to treat people with the grace and mercy that God has freely extended to us.
We are committed to extending to others. Can I get an amen? And so I love that. But my prayer is that God will give us a holy discontent.
And what does that mean? You know, it means this: that we at Granite United would never settle, spiritually settle for the status quo. See, we really do believe God's word is truth. Amen. We believe God's word. It's what frees people.
We believe it's the written Word of God that leads us and points us to the living Word, and His name is Jesus. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We truly do believe that the Bible—somebody say the Bible—is the final authority for faith, practice, and morality.
We don't get, we really don't care what society says. I don't really care what my opinion is. I want to know, what does the Bible say? Again, why? Because it's God's Word. If it's God's Word, it's God's will. If it's God's will, it's God's best.
Jesus said in John chapter 10, "I've come to give you life, give it to you more abundantly." But make no mistake, there is one who's come to kill, steal, and destroy.
So if God has abundant life for me in the here and now, in the when and then—because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord—can I get another amen? I want to know what God's Word says, and I want to align my mind to the Bible.
I don't want to bend God's Word to fit into my life. I want to align my life with God's Word. Again, God's Word, God's will, God's will is God's best. So I want to chase after the things of God, just like you do in my life.
And so my prayer is that we be filled with a holy discontent, that our church should be filled with faith-filled people who are willing to realize we don't have it all together.
I mean, listen, let's take a little survey in case you're kind of new to our church. Let me help you know who you're sitting around. If you're sitting next to somebody, well, let's start with us. If you have issues, raise your hand. Come on, let's be honest.
Okay, put your hand up. If you're sitting next to somebody, you need to tell the truth. If it's in your heart, God already knows. And you feel that person that you're sitting next to is more screwed up than you, raise your hand. And look them in the eye if you're raising your hand.
Listen, there are no perfect people. There are no perfect churches. When we said yes to Jesus, thank God, we were moved under new management, and we're all under construction. Come on, somebody. Amen.
And I love that. But as we are faith-filled people, we're growing in our faith. It overflows in faithfulness. My prayer is that we would give our lives to the mission and message that Jesus Christ has given to us.
Again, if you're sitting on the iCampus in this room tonight, you need to understand something. You sit here because others went ahead of you.
You see, today I'm going to talk to you about how do you push through when sometimes it would be easier to push away? Life happens, man. And sometimes it's just brutal. Sometimes in our minds, it would just be easier to quit.
Because following God takes real discipline. If you don't believe that, read the book of Hebrews. People are like, "I just thought it'd be easier following Jesus." Wait till you read the Bible. Read Hebrews chapter 11.
It's going to cost us something to follow Jesus. Because light shines in darkness. We're sought. Matter of fact, we live in a day and age where Romans chapter 12—it's always been in existence since Genesis chapter 3—but we live in a day and age where evil is called good and good is called evil.
Yeah. And the temptation is that we'll just want to argue and fight with people. We're not here to fight with people. We're here to fight for people. Amen. And we're never going to argue anybody into heaven.
So, so, so don't let your Facebook become disgrace book. Amen. You know, don't let your Instagram become your Insta sham. You know, don't do that. You know what? Be light, be salt, be kind.
Because people don't know what you know. And there was a time you didn't know what you knew, but people stuck with it. And people prayed for you before you even showed up.
Wait 28 years ago for a few years we showed up here on a Friday night and we prayed for you and your family. We didn't know who you were. There were only 40 people in our church back then, and back then only 40 people on a Wednesday night that would call themselves a committed at Granite.
On a Sunday morning, we'd have between 70 and 80 people total, nursery to senior citizen in our church. Now I am the senior citizen. But anyway, that was way back then. People went before you.
Why? Because they refused to push away despite everything that came at them. They said, "You're worth pushing through. He's worth pushing through."
And I want to talk to you about that because, you know, it's not always easy following Jesus. As a matter of fact, in the book of Acts, the church is under severe persecution after the ascension of Christ. The church is empowered by the Holy Spirit. The church starts blowing up, meaning growing forward. It's growing fast.
People are getting ticked off, you know, because you know these people called the apostles and the early church leaders, they're going around, they're preaching the gospel. They're preaching that this isn't about religion; this is about a relationship.
The result in Acts 19, people are getting saved. People are starting to abandon their false gods. The business, the religious people in a community that were selling idols and making money off of it were ticked off because they're losing revenue because people are leaving religion and realize that they can worship the one true God.
There is a God who has been crucified, buried, and rose again from the dead. How many of you know that Jesus is alive today? Right?
And so Paul's preaching all of this, and all of a sudden these riots break out in the city. So Paul packs up, he leaves. In Acts chapter 20, all of a sudden there's a plot to take Paul's life and all of this because he's just preaching hope. He's preaching Jesus.
He eventually ends up in a city called Miletus, and we read this in Acts chapter 20, verse 18. When they arrived, he declared, "You know that from the day that I set foot in the province of Asia until now, I have done the Lord's work humbly and with many tears. I've endured the trials that came to me from the plots of the Jews."
Verse 20: "But here's the thing, gang, I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, not wanted to hear, needed to hear."
Sometimes you're going to come to church, gang, and you're going to hear things that step on our pretty little toes. Amen? And don't get mad at the preacher. As long as we're preaching the Word of God, don't get mad at us. Take it up with God. Amen?
Because God's Word is truth, and it is the final authority for faith, practice, and may I repeat, morality. And if it's God's Word, it's God's will. If it's God's will, whether you like it or not, it's the best for us. Amen?
It's like you're telling your little kid, "Take your medicine." I know you don't like it, but it's good for you. The Word of God is good for you. Amen? Thank you for the three of you that believe that.
Amen. Where are we? Verse 20: "I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes."
I love that about Granite, too. Here it is. Verse 21: "You know what to do. Ready? I have had what? One message for Jews and Greeks alike."
Because there's only one message. Genesis to Revelation. There is only one message. Old Testament and New Testament. Okay? There's different dispensations, and it looks differently, but it is the same throughout the Word of God.
There is a scarlet thread that runs through the Word of God. And it is this one message for Jews and Greeks alike. Ready? It's this. It's called the gospel. The necessity of doing what, church? And of having what?
People ask me all the time, "Pastor, how can you know that you're saved?" I get asked that a lot because, you know, a lot of times, you know, we grew up in this religion; it was performance-based. And salvation has nothing to do with performing your way into heaven. Amen?
We're the working man isn't a righteous man, but a righteous man is a working man. Hmm. What does that mean? Well, let me tell you. Here's what it means. Keep that verse up there. Cherish it.
It means when I realize that my life is going in the wrong direction, that there's this gospel that Jesus Christ—God became a man. He was crucified on purpose for a purpose because all of us people who raised our hands and said we have issues, we realize something: for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Amen?
I mean, if you're a sinner, give me a mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shame on you. No, I'm kidding. We're all sinners. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans chapter 3, verse 23.
Romans 3:10: "There's none good, no one good," right? Romans 6:23: "For the wages, the earning of our sin—we earn something because of our sin—the wages of sin is eternal damnation." Well, bummer.
But the verse isn't over. There's a very next word, and it says, "But." Someone say "but." The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
So in Acts chapter 20, verse 21, you're given a real clear picture of what it means to actually be in a relationship with God. You realize you're a sinner; your life is going in the wrong direction. God's word is true.
So then Romans chapter 10: "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." So you come to a place in your life, you realize that your life as a sinner is actually offensive to God, and God will have nothing to do with sin.
So he sent his Son, the Lamb of God, to become the propitiation of our sin. And God will have nothing to do with sin, so he sent his Son.
In Isaiah chapter 53, he didn't die for his transgressions, but all of our transgressions, and all of our sins were laid upon him. In other words, the righteous Son of God, the just Son of God, you know, took upon himself. He became our sin bearer, and he died on the cross so that we can have the opportunity to have a clean heart and a brand new start with God.
However, it is our choice whether or not we want to receive the gift of God, which we said in Romans 6:23, right? But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
How do you receive the gift? It's just, it's really, you come to this point, you realize you're a sinner, and you realize, man, my sin is offensive to God.
And so I cross the line of faith and say, "God, I'm sorry. Thank you, Jesus, for dying for my sin. I'm sorry that I've lived a life that is offensive to you, and I'm asking you to forgive me. I'm crossing a line of faith."
Oh, by the way, and I'm no longer going the direction I was going. I'm going in. So now I turn my life back to God. Amen? I repent and turn to God, and I follow Jesus Christ by faith.
So people say, "How do I know if I'm saved?" Well, it's simple. Have you crossed the line of faith? Can you honestly say you've turned the direction of your life, and you're following Christ?
It's not really complicated. Like, physically speaking, I mean, many, many, almost 39 years ago, the best thing happened in Christi Anzalo's life. She became Christi Myles. Amen?
I'm in a relationship. It's not really hard to, you know, figure that out. We all know what it means to be in a relationship.
So Paul's preaching, "Hey, gang, this isn't about religion. This isn't about building a religious resume. This is about saying sorry to God, turning the direction of your life, and following Jesus Christ."
So I ask you, if Jesus Christ has radically transformed your life, why isn't he? Amazing grace, and you are not the same person you used to be. You may not be all you want to be, but you're not what you used to be, and you're now a child of God. Would you put your hands together and give God glory? Amen.
So thank you for that. So Paul's like, "I got to go everywhere telling people that there's a way to have your relationship restored back. It's called redemption with the Father. You're outside because of sin. Jesus, God has made a way for you to get back into the family. Repent of your sin, turn to God, place your faith in Christ, and follow Him."
And so he says this in verse 22, and this is big. He says, "And now I am bound by the Spirit to go to Jerusalem." What does that mean? He means God's grabbed a hold of my heart.
He's saying, "I now have a holy discontent." Here's what he's saying. He said in verse 21, in verse 22, this is how I put it at Granite. Paul said, "I am bound by the Spirit to go to Jerusalem."
This is how I put it at Granite: Knowing what I know, there are people who don't know what I know who need to know.
And so in verse 22, saying, "Because I know what I know, the Holy Spirit's got my heart. And there's a holy discontent."
And if you read the book of Romans, you continue to read Paul's writings, there's a sense that my heart's desire is that my family, my friends, and my communities would come to know God.
And so he says, "The Holy Spirit's got my heart. I've had all I can stands, and I can stands." He says, "I'm bound by the Spirit."
Like there's nothing I can do about this. This is my holy discontent. My family doesn't get to die and go to hell knowing there's a way to go to heaven. This has got me, man. This consumes me.
He says, "I got to go to Jerusalem. There's people that I care about. I have influence. I need a platform. I got to get the message out."
And he says in verse 22, "I don't know everything that's ahead of me, but this is kind of cool." In verse 23, he says, "But God's told me one thing, except that the Holy Spirit tells me that in city after city, after city, after city, after city, that what?"
Well, that's cool. Let's do that. Yeah. If you would like to sign up for jail and suffering, take the communication card in front of your kneecap and just put "prison" on the bottom. Prison and beating.
You know how many cards we're getting? Zero. And if you fill that card out, you need more help than you realize.
This is unbelievable. This is unbelievable to me because if the Holy Spirit's sharing with us, kind of be honest with you, I'm probably not spiritual enough.
I don't want to know what next month holds for me. I just want to know that God's holding me. When I get to next month, he's already there, and he's got me. That's what I want to know.
You got to understand. If it were me, I'd probably maybe push away from that. See, there's both saving grace and enabling grace in the word of God.
And this is why I'm telling you that sometimes when we face fire, when we face persecution, like Paul saying suffering and jail lie ahead. He didn't say, "God, deliver me from that." Or "God, take me. I know I'm not signing up for that." Or "God, can we change that?"
He said, "God." And if you're with me on Facebook Live on 7:05 on Tuesday nights, we're going through the book of Philippians.
And we talked about the apostle Paul being in prison and how we had a different perspective, and that perspective led to joy because he had a piece of pastoral understanding, which led him to say, "No matter what happens to me, writing from a prison cell, for me to live is Christ and to die is gain."
He says, "I don't got all this figured out, but God does." And he got to the point where he said, "That's bigger than me, but I know that's not bigger than God. And God, I don't want you to deliver me from it. I want you to develop me through it."
And here's the thing when it comes to us, you know, God will and does allow things that come into our life never to hurt us.
Remember, the same knife that cuts the surgeon uses to heal. And what we've got to understand, and we got to come to grips with is this: can I trust God with my, with the story he's developing in me, in my life for things that I'm not even aware of that's down the road?
You see, you're all going to go through things. We all do. We all go through things. You're like, "Why am I going?" You can ask why, why, why, why to the cows come home. You're rarely going to get that answer.
But if you start saying, "God, develop me in whatever you want to do with this," I'm more committed to the what you want to do than what is happening.
Why? Because there are people that don't know that I know that there's repentance, turning to God, and following Jesus. And this has gripped my heart. This is my holy discontent.
And I've got to make sure that people I love and care about know what I know. Amen. And so this was an attitude. Here's what Paul had. Let me read it to you.
It's in Acts chapter 20, verse 24. He said this: "My life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for doing what, gang?"
Now listen to this: assigned me by the Lord. One of the things I've been teaching our church for years, and I know you're sick of hearing it, but I'm going to say it again because I have the mic and you don't, is that we've been saved on purpose because, you know, saved on purpose for purpose because God's got a great purpose for you. Amen.
Do me a favor on a count of three, point a finger at somebody around you. Don't poke their eye out and just remind them that you're a good person. You're a good person. You're a good person. You're a good person. You're a good person. You're a good person. You're a good person. You're a good person.
God's got big plans for you. Give them a round of applause. Ready? One, two, three. God's got big plans for you. Get them a round of applause.
Here's the thing. If you don't spend time, we're all stepping into eternity. We're all standing before God. We're all going to spend more time over there than we are here.
You better spend some time knowing what the work is that God has called you to do because we're going to give an account of that work to God.
That was two and a half, three series ago. We have a past, present, and a future motivation. Amen? Remember that series that was called that series?
We have it assigned to us by the Lord. Here's what Paul's attitude was: "I got an assignment, man. And God's given me an assignment, and he's got to develop me, prepare me for what he has for me. This is an assignment, and I'm committed to finishing the work."
He said, "Well, what's some of that work?" And here's what he says. Ready? "The work of doing what, church?"
He's like, "About the wonderful grace of God." And I love the word wonderful. It's just not God's grace; it's the wonderful grace of God.
Why? Because Paul knew how jacked up he was outside of God's grace. And if you read many of the other writings that Paul wrote through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Paul was like, "My mind is blown that God loves me with an unfailing, unconditional love because I know me."
And he says, "I don't care what's ahead in me." Here's what I know: Romans chapter 8, verse 31. Ready? One, two, three. It doesn't matter that there's jail, that there's suffering, because I know what's bigger than me isn't bigger than God, and God is for me.
Don't you ever forget that. It's big. This is the word of God, and it's truth.
How do you push through when it'd be easier to push away? Realize that you have an assignment by God. You've been given a message, and that God is for you.
Philemon chapter 1, verse 6 puts it this way: "This is it." I mean, I preached this series like five, six years ago, a whole series on this one verse.
And I pray that as you do what, church? It will grip their lives also, that the same wonderful grace that has changed your life, that as you share it, will grab and change your lives too.
But here's the key: as they see the wealth of good things—read it with me—in you that come from Christ Jesus. You know what the key is? This holy discontent.
I need you to see not me; I need you to see right through me and see God. But my holy discontent is this: Jesus will not be my best-kept secret because his grace is wonderful. Amen?
Amen. Come on, somebody. Amen.
Maybe you're sitting here today and say, "Preacher, you're talking about repenting, crossing the line of faith. You talk about, you know, not religion."
That I got to come to a point in my life where I cross a line of faith, I turn my life over to God, and I start following Jesus. Preacher, I've never done that. It's okay.
Everybody in here who has done that, there was a time we couldn't say it either. But you're here not on accident today, but on purpose.
The Catholic church won't take you to heaven. I know. The priest, the pope, not the answer. Pastor Milas, dear Lord, I'll barely get you to the parking lot.
It's not religion. It's the Son of God, Jesus. And Jesus said, "I'm the way, the truth, and the life. You want to get back to the Father? John 14:6, you must come with me."
That's what he said. If you're here today, say, "I'm not in a relationship with God." That's okay. That's why you're here today.
But now you have a decision to make. Are you ready to cross the line of faith? I'm not in a relationship with God. I'm not in a relationship with God. I'm not in a relationship with God. I'm not in a relationship with God.
I'm not in a line of faith. Step away from religion, turn the direction of your life, and start following Christ. If that's you today, I want to help you do that.
And it's really not complicated. The Bible says, "For whosoever," that means you're included, "shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved."
Let's bow our heads in a word of prayer. If you're ready to do that today, quietly in your heart, I just want you to pray this. Now, prayer is just talking to God.
I want you to pray this. This is the first step. Just say this quietly in your heart: "Jesus, I don't have it all figured out. I just don't. But I do know that I'm a sinner today. I acknowledge that.
And I really do believe that you're the risen Savior. And so today I'm saying yes to you. Today, Jesus, to the best of my ability, I'm crossing the line of faith. No more religion.
No more trying to build a religious resume. And I'm turning the direction of my life. I'm crossing the line of faith. I'm crossing the direction of my life through faith to pursue and follow Jesus.
So thank you for the gift of forgiveness of sins today. I thank you for a clean heart and a brand new start in Jesus.
Listening with heads bowed and eyes closed. I'm not going to embarrass you. I'm not going to make you do anything weird.
But if you just prayed that prayer, I want to give you a little tiny card that says, "Today I said yes to Jesus." I'm going to ask you when I count to three to raise your hand. When you raise your hand, a little card will be put in your hand. Put your hand down.
The reason I want you to have this card is a place where you write today's date so you can never forget about this moment.
So if you're saying yes to Jesus, crossing the line of faith, turning to the direction of your life to pursue this relationship. Ready? One, two, three. Would you just raise your hand nice and high?
Yeah, that's cool. That's cool. Let's keep it up for a second. It's all right. Ain't nobody looking, just me and two other guys.
God bless you and you and you online. If you're saying yes to Jesus Christ, put a hand emoji in the comments, and somebody will just get right back to you, man. We're glad you're with us.
Everybody get a card who needs a card? Christian, with our heads bowed and eyes closed before we celebrate these, I suggest to Jesus, here's my challenge to you.
My challenge to you is to put Christ on full display. Make your mind up because pushing away cannot be an option. Eternity hangs in the balance.
Family, friends, co-workers, your children, your grandchildren are worth fighting for. And ask God, even in the difficult times, not to deliver you.
He said, "I'll never leave you nor forsake you," but to develop you. And never forget, he's preparing for you, in you, what he has for you.
Father, we thank you for the word today. Pray that it take root in our heart. May your name be glorified in all things. Thank you for these that said yes to you today, God.
Continue to use Granite United Church and our regional churches to keep sharing the good news of the gospel. Thank you for your wonderful grace today. We pray in the name of Jesus, and everyone said, amen.
Hey, a number of people said yes to Jesus today. Let them know how you feel about that. So cool.
In our church, if you don't have a Bible, we have a Bible table up here right after the service. If you'll come up here, we would love to give you a copy of God's word.
If you got one of those little cards, all you got to do is come up here after the service. We will give you a copy of the Bible. Somebody say the Bible.
Also over here is a prayer table. If you have a prayer need in your life, you need to share a prayer request. You want somebody to pray with over here is our prayer team.
After church, you just come up here. Look at this guy. He's already coming up here and getting a Bible. Put your hands together for him. That's awesome, dude.
We're trying to build our creative team, which means if you're interested at Granite in doing photography, videography, if you're a musician, a vocalist, want to do some computer stuff, you fill the card out in front of your kneecap.
There's a little thing that says "dream team" on the bottom. Put a big C, put it in the mailboxes in the back. Somebody will call you this week, and I get an uh-huh.
The reason I don't have Matt McCain up here today to hook you up like a police or to ask you to fill out the big old card. It's disgusting.
The reason I didn't want him up here today is because on November 1st, it's a Friday night. I want to invite you to our church on November 1st. We think it's at six o'clock right here in this room.
We are having a wonderful service. We are ordaining Matt McCain to the gospel ministry. This is going to be awesome. It'll be great.
And so I wanted to personally invite you to that. And if you want to bring a dessert after the service, we'll be going downstairs, hanging out. We can congratulate, high five Matt and Stacey.
It's a wonderful time. It is a big deal in a pastor's life to be ordained to the gospel ministry. And so it's going to be a worship service. We have a bunch of pastors that are going to be here.
Pastor Eddie Trinkle is going to be preaching that night. We lay hands on the ordination candidate, and it's just awesome. So that's November 1st. I personally wanted to invite you to that.
And man, it's going to be a great, great night. So bring a dessert if you come too, and we'll just all... And don't forget the sugar-free desserts. Amen? For the diabetics in the room.
Okay, last thing. Last thing. Don't tell me the Patriot score. I don't want to know. I'm recording it. I love you guys. We'll see you next week. Peace.
