Boldly Expanding Our Faith and Community

Summary

In my sermon, I emphasized the importance of growth and expansion in our faith and our church community. I stressed that God does not want us to be complacent or satisfied with just filling up the building and coasting our way to heaven. Instead, we are called to reach out, to expand our territories, and to bring more people into the fold. I also highlighted the importance of not hiding our faith or keeping it confined. God wants us to be bold, to be loud, and to share His word with everyone we meet. I also discussed the importance of not being intimidated by the enemy's attempts to keep us small or confined. Instead, we should see these challenges as opportunities for growth and multiplication.

Key Takeaways:
- God calls us to expand our territories and reach out to more people, not just to fill up our buildings and coast our way to heaven ([08:37]).
- Our faith should not be hidden or confined. We are called to be bold and loud in sharing God's word ([09:22]).
- We should not be intimidated by the enemy's attempts to keep us small or confined. Instead, we should see these challenges as opportunities for growth and multiplication ([10:07]).
- We are called to win our neighbors, co-workers, and classmates for Christ. We are not just called to fill a seat in a theater ([10:45]).
- We should not be satisfied with just showing up and watching the show. We are called to actively participate in God's work ([12:03]).

Devotional

Day 1: Revival Where You Are

God's word is not confined to the walls of a church. It is a living, breathing entity that can bring revival and transformation to any place, including your immediate community. Your family, neighbors, and co-workers are all part of your mission field. You have the opportunity to spread the word of God to them and start a revival right where you are.

Acts 1:8 - "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Reflection: Reflect on your immediate community - your family, neighbors, and co-workers. How can you actively participate in spreading the word of God to them? What specific actions can you take this week to start a revival in your own community?

Day 2: Multiplication and Expansion

The church is not just a building; it is a body of believers with a mission to spread the gospel and make disciples. This mission involves growth and expansion, reaching out to more people and bringing them into the fold.

Acts 2:47 - "Praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

Reflection: Do you believe your church is reaching its full potential in terms of growth and influence? If not, what steps can you personally take to help the church expand its reach and bring more people to God?

Day 3: Pushing Towards Destiny

God has a plan and a purpose for each of us, including the children and young people in our lives. As parents and mentors, we have a responsibility to guide them towards their destiny and help them use their gifts for God's glory.

Proverbs 22:6 - "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."

Reflection: As a parent or mentor, how are you encouraging the children or young people in your life to fulfill their potential and use their gifts for God's glory? Can you identify one specific way you can better support them in their spiritual journey?

Day 4: God's Desire for a Large Church

God desires a large, vibrant church that is actively spreading His word and making disciples. A large church is not a threat to the world, but a beacon of hope and a testament to God's power and love.

Acts 9:31 - "Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers."

Reflection: Do you agree with the idea that God desires a large, vibrant church? If so, how can you contribute to the growth and vibrancy of your own church community? What specific actions can you take to help your church become a threat to the enemy?

Day 5: Unleashing Potential

God has given each of us unique gifts and potential. It is our responsibility to use these gifts to serve others and bring glory to God. Unleashing our potential is not just about personal fulfillment, but about serving others in our community.

1 Peter 4:10 - "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."

Reflection: Reflect on your own gifts and potential. Are you using them to their fullest extent for God's glory? If not, what is holding you back? What specific steps can you take to unleash your potential and serve others in your community?

Quotes

1. "Listen mom and dad, push your kid to their destiny. Your kid can change the world. Your kid needs to be anointed by God. Your kid can go to Bible College, your kid can be a preacher, your kid can be a missionary, your kid can do something." [21:05]

2. "We need some parents that believe in their kids' dreams more than they believe in their dreams because they're afraid of their dream. It overwhelms them. You decide with your baby, you can change the world. You can do it." [21:48]

3. "God wants us in a large place. When you get stressed out, God assumes where you're at is squeezing you. When you are overwhelmed, it's because the walls are caving in and that's why you can't quit right now because when you cry unto God in your distress, he starts looking for something bigger." [23:57]

4. "I'm going to draw a Ministry from around the world for this vision and then he said if you will do this and obey me and go find the people regionally when you find the people building fine. And you get committed, you're going to be blessed and your group's gonna multiply." [48:04]

5. "We've got strategy along with vision. And this morning I woke up and this is the verse God gave me Isaiah 43. Fear not for I am with thee. I will bring thy seed from the East, gather thee from the West. I will say to the north give up and to the South keep not back bring my sons from far and my daughters from the ends of the Earth." [37:24]
