In today's gathering, we explored the profound power and significance of speaking the name of Jesus. The song "I Speak Jesus," written by the worship collective Here Be Lions, served as a focal point for our reflection. This song was born out of a prayerful desire to create music that heals and uplifts its listeners. The name of Jesus is not just a word; it is an invocation of His presence and power. Throughout Scripture, we see the name of Jesus exalted as a source of salvation, strength, and peace. It is a name that holds the power to transform lives and situations.
We delved into the concept of peace, as described in John 14:27, where the Greek word "eirene" signifies an internal posture independent of external circumstances. This peace is available to us even amidst life's chaos and challenges. Embracing this peace requires us to slow down, turn off the noise, and rest in the presence of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
The name of Jesus is a powerful weapon against fear, anxiety, depression, and any stronghold that seeks to bind us. It is a name that brings freedom from addictions and the seemingly innocent things that can hold us captive. By declaring the name of Jesus, we align ourselves with His will and invite His intervention in our lives. This alignment empowers us to declare peace, hope, healing, and freedom over our circumstances.
In moments of personal struggle, speaking the name of Jesus can break through the shadows and provide the strength needed to persevere. It is a reminder that we are not alone, and that the God of angel armies is on our side. As we speak Jesus over our lives, families, and communities, we invite His transformative power to work in and through us.

Embracing this peace requires us to slow down, turn off the noise, and rest in the presence of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. By doing so, we can experience a profound sense of calm and assurance, knowing that His peace surpasses all understanding and guards our hearts and minds. [52:55]

Well, good morning, CLC.
We still have 20 minutes left of the morning. It's so good to see each of you here. And I'm so glad. For those of you who have joined us online, I've really enjoyed this series. Haven't you? More Than a Song? I enjoyed that, you know. I enjoyed understanding more of the theology of some of the songs we sing.
Now we're going to close this series off with "I Speak Jesus," which is a powerful song that was sung by Charity Gale. Now, the song was actually written by a worship collective by the name of Here Be Lions. And get this, get this. Their focus, one of the missions of the reason why they write music, is specifically to purposely write songs that will heal its listeners. Isn't that beautiful? Kind of explains what you feel when you're listening to their songs.
But just... This is a song that's a gift, right? They're praying for a song that will be popular. And it's a song that will be popular. And that's why they're doing this. And it's a song that's a gift, right? They were there to write a song. They were there to write a song. And he prayed over the team before they started writing. And he just said, "I just want to speak the name of Jesus over everyone." That was his prayer. And that became the song. All they needed to do was add the melody because they already had the most powerful word, Jesus.
Jesus. Jesus' name is... there's power in Jesus' name. And there's power in the name of our God. And you can see throughout Scripture how His name is exalted. Like an example, the psalmist David in Psalm 20:7: "Some trust in chariots, you know this one, right? Some trust in chariots, some in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God."
And then Jeremiah 10:6: "There is none like you, O God. Your name is great, and great is your mighty and powerful name." And Acts 4:12: "Jesus is the only one who can save people. His name is the only part in the world that has been given to save someone. We must be saved through Him."
Jesus' name is exalted because it's so powerful, right? It's so powerful. But I don't want you to just throw it in like a magic incantation, you know, like "abracadabra," something we add just to try to get what we want from God. Everybody say, "That's not what this is about." Thank you for understanding that because speaking His name is not a mere utterance; it's an invocation of His presence. Oh, it's so powerful.
Now, some of you know this story, but when my husband and I first started going to the Smoky Mountains, we had two dogs. One was a big chocolate lab named Jasper, 100 pounds. He was a big boy and a little... what dogs do, okay? But there were no lights on anywhere, and there weren't even any stars out. And so it was so dark. I was just trying to navigate us to make sure we didn't fall off the mountain.
And then just then, Jasper had this deep grumble in his chest. It was like a... so I'm thinking, "How was it you did that on purpose?" It was that just a deep... and so it was like, "What's he upset about? What's he growling at?" So I peered into the darkness. It's pitch black. I peered into the darkness, and I thought I was going to die. I was going to die. I was going to die. I was going to die. I thought I saw a mound of something, and just then the mound stood up. It was a bear—a very big bear.
And I knew that if Jasper wanted to get to the bear, I wasn't going to be able to hold him, you know? And so very quickly, as fast as I could, I wrapped the leashes around my waist, fell to the ground to hold him in place so he wouldn't rush the bear because I knew between Jasper and the bear, who was going to win? And it wasn't going to be my Jasper. So I wrapped the cords really tight around my waist and fell on them to keep it in place, and I screamed, "Jesus!" And the bear ran down the mountain.
You know, in the past, I thought that, you know, if my problems would disappear or at least slow down a little bit, I'd have peace. You know, and if the house was clean and the car was fixed and the kids were all acting not too bad and the bills were paid... You know, does anybody here understand what I'm trying to say? Where I was coming from? You know, I know that we've all thought, "Well, if this thing would change, I'd be at peace."
Have you ever... did it? Raise your hand. I want to see. Even those of you online, raise your hands. Thank you. I don't want to be alone in this. I think we've all felt like if something changed, then we could have peace. But the Greek word for peace from the passage of Scripture John 14:27 that my husband just read is "irini," and this is what it means: an internal posture independent of external circumstances.
Whoa! Yeah. It has nothing to do with our circumstances, right? That means we can have peace on the inside even when challenge after challenge after challenging situations happen on the outside. You know, with one problem after another, problem after another, and the house is a complete war zone, mess.
Now, I know some of you guys are going, "Huh?" It doesn't bother him at all. But it drives me crazy. I hate it. I hate what my house looks like right now. Oh, come on. Don't leave me hanging here. How many of you, a dirty house or messed-up house drives you nuts?
Okay. What I'm saying is, you know, even when there's problem after problem, when the house is a disaster, the car is in the shop, and the kids are all acting out at the same time, and there's unpaid bills piling up, you can have peace when everything around you is falling apart. You can have peace, but you got to embrace it.
Can I say this? It's not just going to overwhelm you. You have to embrace that peace. And you do that by slowing down, turning off the noise, and just appreciating Jesus. Amen. You know, just settle into His presence. Because Jesus is the Prince of Peace that Isaiah talked about 700 years before His birth in Isaiah 9:6.
So I speak Jesus right now. I'm not going to wait until the end. I speak Jesus, and I speak His peace over your life right now. Amen. Now remember, every time that you declare the name of Jesus, you are aligning yourself with His will and inviting His intervention.
Okay? So I challenge you today. This is your take-home. This is what I want you to take home with you today. Make the name of Jesus your go-to response. Okay? Make it your first line of defense to whatever your day may be, to whatever your day may bring you. Because in His name, there is strength. There is comfort. There is help. And as the song says, there is hope and there is freedom.
So if the Son makes you free, then you are? I'm going to use the amplified here because I really like it. So if the Son makes you free, then you are unquestionably free. Turn to your neighbor and say, "You're unquestionably free."
You're unquestionably... In Jesus' name, addictions are broken. You are free whether addiction is an illegal substance like cocaine or heroin or if it's prescription drugs or if it's alcohol or caffeine. Ooh, I stepped on a toe. Nicotine. You know, in the name of Jesus, you are free. You can have freedom from even the seemingly innocent things. True. The innocent things that have a hold on you, and you know it.
Things like shopping. I'm feeling a move on spirit from the girls and a praise God hallelujah from them. But yeah, but sometimes we can have addictions in the form of shopping or food. Food. Video games, the stuff that's on the internet, even work, right? Have you ever heard of a workaholic? Sure.
Yeah. So because of Jesus' name, you can be free of all these things, and they don't have to dominate your life any longer. Because of the name of Jesus, you can be free, no longer bound by your bad choices and your sinful nature. You are redeemed. You are restored by the name of Jesus. His name is a limitless source of healing, hope, and power and freedom to be everything that God created you to be.
Oh, I love the chorus. It says, "'Cause your name is power. Your name is healing. Your name is life. Break every stronghold. Shine through the shadows. Burn like a fire." But it's Chris's turn right now. When it comes to the name of Jesus, its potency, you know, it transcends human understanding. I don't really think we grasp it because in the name of Jesus is the mightiest power known.
The enemy thinks he has power, but it pales in comparison to the name of Jesus. I'm telling you that the name of Jesus defeats the enemy's armies with ease, and the gates of hell cannot stand against a church that comes against in the name of Jesus. Everybody say, "In Jesus' name."
In Jesus' name, darkness and shadows cannot withstand the light of God's name, the light that it brings. You know, the light of Jesus that burns like a never-ending fire fueled by His love. That name.
Now, I'm going to be honest, and this week has been very difficult for me. I've cried more than I ever remember crying in my entire life. My husband held me, and he prayed over me, and he spoke the words of this song over me softly again and again and again. He sang, "I speak Jesus over me," till it broke through the shadows and gave me the strength I needed to keep going.
And depression is a mental health issue that is increasingly affecting more and more people. So how wonderful it is to have a song that reminds us to speak the name of Jesus against fear, against anxiety, against depression. No matter what unhealthy emotional situation you're battling today, I want you to know that the name of Jesus is a weapon that you can use against it.
Just as David said to Goliath, "You come to me with a sword and a spear and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of heaven's armies, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defiled." When we come in His name, we need to remember that He is the God of the angel armies. He has multiplied millions of angels to do as He commands, and honestly, that's more than twice what the enemy's demonic forces are. Right?
No, let that sink in. I almost said slinking, but let that sink in. Let that sink in. Let that sink in. Let that sink in. Let that sink in. Let that sink in. Right now, there is no reason for you to be afraid. None. None whatsoever. Philippians 1:28 says, "And you will not be afraid of those who are against you." All of this is proof from God that you are being saved and that your enemies will be lost.
Wow, the song is about speaking the name of Jesus. We will speak the powerful name of Jesus over darkness. We'll speak Jesus over strongholds. We will speak Jesus over fear. We will speak Jesus over anxiety. We will speak Jesus over depression.
Now, you may not see instantaneous results because sometimes, I'm telling you, sometimes it's a fight. But ultimately—everybody say ultimately—ultimately, the ultimate victory is always going to be found in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ as you align yourself with God's will.
And you don't just speak His name against things; you can declare things in Jesus' name. In Jesus' name, you can declare peace over your home. You can declare hope in a hopeless situation. You can declare healing. You can declare freedom.
When you have the truth, she gets a little wound up sometimes. T—sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I really... and we don't need to apologize when we are working on this. But one thing we said is we are going to have a hard time talking about this workplace.
Now, if I asked you what you probably pray about the most, I think it would probably be your family. I know it is the same with me. Because, you know, when someone in your family hurts, you hurt, right? And you want so badly to fix it. But most of the time, you can't. And that makes us hurt even more when there seems to be nothing we can do.
But here's something you can do. You can speak the name of Jesus over your family. And that's what... As I speak Jesus over you, I command darkness to flee from your life. I command everything that does not line up with the truth of God's word to flee from your life. What God says about you is the only truth. Do you hear me? You need to be fighting this with me.
I command that not with you. I speak life that informs the dead things in your life to breathe again. I declare freedom. I declare healing and restoration to everything that has been broken in you. I speak Jesus over your finances and any area of lack. I speak Jesus over your marriage and kids for the protection of their minds.
I speak Jesus over that addiction, and I command it to break now. I speak Jesus over your mind and declare His peace. I speak over your family and call it Jesus over your home and call it a sanctuary of peace. I speak Jesus over the prodigal sons.
We've been speaking Jesus over you, and I felt there was an anointing in what we did, but I'm telling you what's going to be an even greater anointing is in a moment I'm going to have you shout Jesus just like the song says. I've been shouting. It's time for you to shout.
I want you to shout the name of Jesus. And when you shout His name, I want you to shout it over whatever is hurting in your life, whatever is broken, whatever needs the power of Jesus' name.
So when we count to three, I want you to shout Jesus. And I want you to shout it over whatever situation you need His help. And I truly believe that miracles are going to be released in this place right now.
So let's shout it. One, two, three. Jesus!
You've been all those things, but the thing that means the most to me is that you've been my friend. You've been my friend through thick and thin, as they say, through trips to the Philippines and heart to heart and prayer. You've prayed. You've been my prayer shield from the very beginning, and you love me and accept me as I am.
It's kind of hard to do as an introvert, but you did it anyways. But I want to thank you for it, for all of you guys. You mean so much. You know, you were born already, but not all of you. And we just love you so, so very, very much.
We hate to see you go, but you're not going far. So we love and we are excited about what God is going to do in your lives. I truly believe that everything that has transpired in this, to this time was for this purpose, to bring you to this time and to this purpose.
This is God's fulfillment for you. I release a supernatural anointing on their lives to reach cross-culturally. I pray, Lord God, that just as you have worked so powerfully in their lives in music and in prayer, I pray that you will give them creative ideas and wisdom and anointing, Lord God, to reach across barriers to reach all those who have been thought unreachable.
Lord God, give them plans, Lord Jesus. It's not going to be programs. It's going to be plans. We thank you, Lord God, for the plans and the purposes that you have already put in their hearts. You've been putting in their hearts for years, but now it's going to step up. It's going to be revealed in dreams.
There's going to be songs that are going to come into your heart, and there are actually going to be plans in the way of songs. We thank you, Lord God, for what you are going to do in this family, for the anointing, for the love, for the power, for the changed lives. We thank you for the prayers that will go up from this day.
Lord, I thank you, Lord.
