Could you let us know why so that we can improve our ministry?
by Michael Eley, Jr. on Nov 05, 2023
**Excited.**
I want to welcome you into the sanctuary of the Springfield Baptist Church for this Young Adult Sunday. To all of our guests in person and virtually, we are so glad you are here.
If you're in the sanctuary, please stand with me as we have our call to worship.
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness. Come before His presence with singing. For the Lord is good. His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endureth to all generations.
This morning, we are blessed to have our young adult choir. Hallelujah! They will share with us in song. Let's encourage them and bless the Lord as they come for our opening selection. Thank you, Jesus.
Let us pray.
Dear Lord, we thank you for this day. We thank you for this day. Hallelujah. We ask that you come into this service like you already have. Just stay here, God. We ask that you bless us to hear your word. Bless us to do your will, God. Move from heart to heart, from breast to breast, God. Have your way in this place because, oh, how wondrous is the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. We thank you. Have your way in this place. In Jesus' name, amen.
This morning, we have Joshua Hill, Brother Joshua Hill, who will lead us in our responsive reading, which is number five seventy-six, "Training in the Christian Home." The words will be on your screens. Amen.
Now, these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, that you might do them in the land whither you go to possess it.
Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it, that it may be well with thee, and that you may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house and when thou walkest by the way and when thou liest down and when thou risest up.
When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice, and I am persuaded that in thee also.
Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee, by the putting on of my hands.
Thank you. You may be seated.
Now, we will have another selection from our young adult choir.
*You're a man of your word. All things are possible. All chains are breakable when we receive Yahweh. If you said it, if you said it, if you said it, we believe all chains are breakable. We receive...*
Good morning. How are we feeling? Young Adult Day! Young adults, are we excited?
We would like to welcome all of those who are joining us in the virtual space. If you're watching via our website, Facebook, or YouTube channels, please take a moment and put in the chat where you are worshiping from, and someone from Springfield will show you some virtual love in the chat.
And you, if you are a first-time friend worshiping with us for the first time this morning, if you would, please stand.
Okay. We thank God for all of you who have come to worship with us from near and far. You're not here by accident. You are here by providence, and you will never be the same if only you call on Jesus' name.
Springfield, help me welcome our guests with a friendly wave. Whoo! And please do come again. Amen. Amen.
And now, we will have the Springfield Spotlight.
Today, on the Springfield Spotlight: All of this Tuesday's church activities are canceled, and our church office is closed for the July 4th holiday.
All Springfield Class of 2023 graduates will be recognized July 9th during our 10 AM service time. Graduates, please wear your regalia. There will be a celebration after service for graduates in the multi-purpose center gymnasium. Springfield, feel free to bless our graduates in your own special way.
Our quarterly church conference will be held Friday, July 14th at 7 PM in the sanctuary. Please keep in mind, this is in person only.
Our youth ministry is hype for their annual weekend, July 15th and 16th. Youth, get ready for a day of service and play on Saturday the fifteenth. The day begins with roadside cleanup at 9 AM, and then we're headed to Frankie's Fun Park. Parents, transportation will be provided.
On Sunday, the youth-led worship service will feature the annual Youth Day Choir and a powerful word from our own youth minister, Daquan Isom. Our theme is "Jesus in Jeans." The attire for Sunday is dress down.
Choir rehearsal for Youth Day is Thursday, July 13th at 7 PM. See you there. May the peace of the Lord go with you throughout the week until we meet again. Be blessed. Amen.
Good morning, Springfield. Good morning. It is a great day to give God thanks and praise. Will you help me do it if you will?
Oh, magnify the Lord with me and let us... let us... let us... not just me, not just you, let us... exalt His name together.
From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, the name of our Lord is worthy. Hallelujah! Worthy to be praised. Glory to God.
Be seated if you can. Be seated if you can. Be seated if you can. Amen. Amen.
Springfield, welcome to July 2023. My Lord! When in the world is the time going? Amen? Amen.
I tell you the truth, man. We just kicked off twenty-three. Feels like a few days ago, and we are already, amen, in the month of July. Amen. Amen.
Listen, I want you to mark your calendars. It was in our rolling announcements but not in the spotlight. I want you to mark your calendars. Church conference is Friday, July the 14th at 7 PM. Church conference is Friday, July the 14th at 7 PM. Please mark your calendars for that. Amen.
We want you to be empowered and informed. Amen. And so please mark your calendars for that.
You heard, amen, that July is a very busy month here at the Springfield Baptist Church as we're celebrating Young Adults Day today. We'll celebrate our graduates next week. We'll celebrate youth the third Sunday. Amen? And then at the end of the month, we will have our annual revival. So, we look very much forward, amen, to all of those things.
Listen, allow me to stand briefly to share a few things with you, and then we'll move forward in the service.
Allow me to share a few things with you, and then we'll move forward in the service.
We thank and praise God for this young adult choir. Amen. Come on. Will y'all help me encourage them? My Lord!
Yeah. Now, listen. Let me help you. Let me help you real quick.
This is Young Adults Day. This is young adult emphasis day, alright? And so they might sing some songs. It might sound different than the songs you would sing on your day. But it ain't your day on your day, and we'll sing the songs that you like. Amen.
And they didn't have to stunt on us. They stunted on us on the front song. First song. Modulated seven times. I was counting. I was counting. I was counting. Y'all did a wonderful job. Amen.
Listen. I want to say this because we have had tremendous participation with the music ministry. Not just for these special days, but we had... y'all remember we had women everywhere in the choir stand for Women's Day? Y'all remember that?
And we had men everywhere in the choir stand for Men's Day. Y'all remember that? Amen.
And so we thank God for the number of young adults, amen, that showed up in our representing the Lord today. Amen. I want to thank God for y'all, man. Y'all are awesome.
So, watch this. Watch this. So, we had a record number of ladies that were in the choir stand. Record number of men that were in the choir stand. We got a wonderful participation with our young adults that are in the choir stand together, and I just believe we ought to keep the party going. Amen?
Youth Day is coming up. Let me say it again in English. Youth Day is coming up, and here Youth Day is a little bit different.
Youth Day is a little bit different because these young adults got in their car and drove to the choir rehearsal. The men got in their car, drove to the choir rehearsal. The women got in their car, drove to the choir rehearsal.
The youth can't do that. If they're going to be at choir rehearsal, parents, you got to bring them. Y'all hung up on the preacher real quick. Amen.
So, we need your help. We need your help. We want to pack the choir stand full of youth to be a part of our Youth Day Choir. Amen.
You saw on the spotlight the announcement about when those choir rehearsal times are, but we need your help.
So, parents, we want to keep the party going. We want to make sure that we have a record number of youth participating as well on Youth Sunday, and so we look...
