Well, good morning, CLC!
It's so good to see all of you. And for those of you who have joined us online, thank you for coming.
How many of you have enjoyed the 21 Days of Prayer? It's only been eight days, but I've loved it. If you haven't joined us yet, we still have two weeks to go. You can join us in the auditorium or online at noon each day or on Saturdays at 9 o'clock. It's been a powerful time, and I personally have loved it. How many of you have enjoyed it? It's been awesome.
Now, we're going to talk about prayer. I am really excited about what God is going to do in us during this time.
Years ago, my husband and I went on vacation out west. On Sunday, he took me to a mega church in Colorado, and I was shocked. I casually said, "Good morning, Jesus," and he responded back, "Howdy." It was like Jesus was right there. It was so awesome.
After the service, my husband told me about the prayer center on the property where people prayed 24/7. We returned many times after that, and I was always blown away by the nearness of God. That's why I prepared a prayer room here because I want that same thing for us.
Worship is an essential part of prayer. It ushers us into the presence of God. When we worship, we humble ourselves before God and show reverence. Worship is more than just singing songs. It's losing ourselves in admiration and adoration of God. So, let's not just get to the point when we pray, but let's start with worship.
Prayers that bring results also include true repentance. Solomon prayed for forgiveness and repentance. It's not just feeling sorry for our sins, but it's about a change of heart and refusing to do what we did wrong again.
Prayers that bring results are also prayed in faith. Faith is confident trust in God, even when we can't see the beginning of an answer. We need to speak what we know to be true and release our faith through our words.
Prayers that bring results are prayed in accordance with God's will. We need to read scripture in context and pray scripture that aligns with God's will. Praying in God's will means trusting Him regardless of the outcome.
Lastly, we need to receive what we pray for. We need to have confidence in God that when we pray according to His will with faith, He will give us what we need.
So, let's pray together and receive what God has for us.
