Could you let us know why so that we can improve our ministry?
by Bethesda Baptist Church of Harlem, Georgia on Nov 05, 2023
Good evening. Thank you for coming today. We praise the Lord for your presence.
Have you enjoyed yourself so far? As wonderful as Garden City is, as wonderful as our choir is, the real worship is about to start. I want to thank the choirs for their performance. They did a great job.
Before I introduce our speaker, I want to recognize a special guest, Brother Daniel's wife, Vaughn, who has been married to him for 26 years. Thank you for your support and for being there for him.
Now, let's welcome Brother Daniel to the stage to preach to our hearts.
I hope the technology I'm wearing works because I'm not sure how to use it. Can someone out there hear me? Is this microphone working?
Alright, good. At Raysville, we don't have to worry about all this technology stuff. Our building is small enough that everyone can hear me without any issues.
Today, we will be reading from Jeremiah chapter one, but before we begin, I want to share a little bit about myself. I grew up in a small town in California and was called to salvation in 1995. In 2009, I felt the Lord calling me to be a servant for Him. I have served in different places and now I am serving in Raysville.
Being a servant leader is a great calling, and I believe it is the greatest calling anyone can have. We all have a calling on our lives to be servant leaders.
Now, let's dive into Jeremiah chapter one. In verse four, we see that God spoke to Jeremiah. He spoke to him in a clear and audible voice. God chooses to speak to his servants in different ways, but when he speaks, there is no doubt that it is him.
In verse five, we learn that God knew Jeremiah even before he was formed in the womb. God knew everything about Jeremiah: his physical attributes, his personality, and his calling. God sets us apart for his purposes, and he knows us intimately.
In verse eight, God promises Jeremiah that he will be with him and deliver him. We don't have to be afraid of the calling God has placed on our lives because he is always with us. God's calling and gifts are irrevocable. He will never take them away from us.
So, how will you respond to God's calling on your life? Will you obey and follow him as a servant leader?
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we thank you for your calling on our lives. Help us to obey and follow you as servant leaders. Give us the strength and courage to fulfill the purpose you have for us.
In Jesus' name, amen.
