by Apostolic Church Dallas on May 20, 2024
Today, we gathered to seek a profound shift in our hearts and lives, anticipating a move of God that will transform our congregation and extend to the city of Dallas. We began by lifting our hands in prayer, asking God to paint a vision in our hearts and to make us hungry for His full expression. We invited everyone to come to the altar, a place where flesh goes to die, to lay down anything that hinders us from experiencing the fullness of Christ. We expressed our desperation for God, not just for a portion of His presence, but for His full expression in our lives, our city, and our nation.
We reflected on the historical significance of Pentecost, emphasizing that it is not just a one-time event but a continual experience of God's power and presence. We read scriptures together, asking God to pour out His Spirit on all flesh, as promised in Acts 2. We prayed for the heart of Pentecost, a heart that is hungry and desperate for God. We recounted the story of the Azusa Street Revival, where ordinary people with extraordinary hunger for God experienced a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit. This revival, led by William Seymour, a humble man with little to his name, demonstrated that God does not need special people or fancy buildings to move powerfully.
We discussed the importance of hunger and expectation in experiencing an outpouring of God's Spirit. We shared the story of Evan Roberts, a young man from Wales whose desperate prayers for God to "bend" him led to a nationwide revival. This revival transformed lives, shut down bars, and brought prayer into schools and businesses. We declared our faith that God can do the same in Dallas, envisioning a city where bars shut down and schools are filled with prayer because of a powerful move of God.
We emphasized that Pentecost is not about the form or the expression but about Jesus Himself. The full expression of Christ is what we seek, and Pentecost is the proof of His presence among us. We prayed for a revival in our city, specifically for North Dallas High School, where we believe God is already moving. We shared our vision for our church, a place where people can encounter Jesus, and invited everyone to participate in sacrificial giving to support our move to a new building.
We concluded by reminding everyone that Pentecost is about Jesus and His power to heal, save, and transform lives. We encouraged everyone to keep their eyes on Jesus and to remain hungry for His presence. We prayed for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit and invited everyone to fast and pray together in their neighborhoods, seeking a deeper experience of God's power and presence.

Day 1: Hunger for God Precedes Revival
A deep hunger and expectation for God are essential for experiencing a mighty outpouring of His Spirit. The story of the Azusa Street Revival teaches us that this hunger is a prerequisite for revival. William Seymour, a humble man with unwavering belief in the Holy Ghost, set the stage for a global revival even before he received the Holy Spirit himself. This teaches us that our hunger for God can pave the way for extraordinary moves of His Spirit. Are we hungry enough for God to move in our lives and our city? [53:25]
Joel 2:28-29 (ESV): "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit."
Reflection: Are you truly hungry for God to move in your life and your city? What steps can you take today to cultivate a deeper hunger for His presence?
Day 2: Pentecost is About Jesus, Not the Form
Pentecost is not about the expressions or the manifestations but about Jesus Himself. When we focus on Jesus and seek His full expression in our lives, we will experience the true power of Pentecost. The miracles, signs, and wonders are all about Jesus showing up and being present among His people. It is crucial to remember that the essence of Pentecost is Jesus and His transformative power in our lives. [01:13:05]
Acts 4:33 (ESV): "And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all."
Reflection: In what ways can you shift your focus from the manifestations of Pentecost to Jesus Himself? How can you seek His full expression in your daily life?
Day 3: Repentance Precedes Revival
Every major move of God throughout history has been preceded by a call to repentance. Evan Roberts' prayer, "Bend me," exemplifies a heart that is willing to be transformed by God. True revival comes when we turn away from our old ways and seek a deep, life-changing encounter with God. Repentance is not just about feeling sorry for our sins but about a complete change of direction towards God. [01:01:12]
2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV): "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Reflection: Is there an area in your life where you need to repent and turn back to God? What steps can you take today to seek a deeper, life-changing encounter with Him?
Day 4: God Uses Ordinary People for Extraordinary Moves
The stories of William Seymour and Evan Roberts remind us that God does not need special people or fancy buildings to do extraordinary things. He uses humble, ordinary people who are hungry for Him. If we feel inadequate, we should remember that God can use us to birth a worldwide revival. Our availability and hunger for God are what He looks for, not our qualifications or resources. [01:11:15]
1 Corinthians 1:27-29 (ESV): "But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God."
Reflection: Do you feel inadequate to be used by God? How can you make yourself more available and hungry for His purposes today?
Day 5: Pentecost is the Full Expression of Christ
The full expression of Jesus Christ looks like Acts chapter 2, where the Holy Spirit was poured out, and people were filled with power from on high. If we do not have Pentecost, we do not have the full expression of Christ. We must seek the full expression of Jesus in our lives, our church, and our city. This means being open to the Holy Spirit's work and allowing Him to move powerfully among us. [01:17:41]
Acts 2:4 (ESV): "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance."
Reflection: Are you seeking the full expression of Jesus in your life? What can you do today to be more open to the Holy Spirit's work in and through you?
**King of Kings**
King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings.
You didn't come for any other reason but to see Jesus. I know it. So while I would that a travail would break out in this room right now, I would that an evidence of hunger would break out in this room tonight.
If you're looking for the next thing on the agenda and the program of the service today, I want you to know he's here. I'll say that again. If you're looking for the next thing on the agenda and the program of our service, he is already here. He is the agenda. There is no program. It's all about him.
He's already here. He's already got outstretched arms. He's already extended the invitation. I wonder if just from a place deep inside your spirit right now, would you just reach out to him right now who has come into this room to meet you? Amen. Amen.
We need you so much, God. We need you so much. You see us. You see our frailties. You see our shortcomings. You see our gaps. You know how they need you. Right now we just say it ourselves: I need you. God, I need you so bad. Is that how you feel tonight? You need him. I need you. I don't have the solutions, God. I need you. Matter of fact, you are the solution in and of itself.
So, today is Pentecost Sunday. Normally on a Pentecost Sunday, maybe I preach with a little extra, but I made up in my mind I wouldn't do that today because there is no theatric in Pentecost. Pentecost isn't about us. You be seated.
Just like we celebrate Easter Sunday, it doesn't mean we don't celebrate the resurrection all the other times. We live in the power of the resurrection. You celebrate Pentecost today, it doesn't mean Pentecost shouldn't be your normal tomorrow.
I'm going to read a couple of verses of scripture. Actually, I was thinking about doing this. Micah, grab a microphone. You're going to read the verses today. I've never done that, but I don't know. Grab one from my wife or something. There you go. Winston, we got the verses.
All right. I'm going to talk to you today about the heart of Pentecost. Let's throw the first verse up there. Y'all read it with him, by the way. Let's read them together.
"See visions." Now, lift your hands right now and say, "God, I want that in my life. God, I want that in my life. I receive that."
And he went in to stay with them. That was a typo. I meant 49. My bad. 29, 49. Two digits with power from on high. Lift your hands with me and say that. I want this tonight, God. I want that power from on high. I'll wait on you, God. I'll do what I gotta do, but...
Now, if you don't have the Holy Ghost tonight, I want you to lift your hands and say, "Tonight, God, give me that power." If you have the Holy Ghost, I want you to lift your hands tonight and say, "God, help me to walk in that power." Let's pray that right now. That's why you gave it anyways, God. To walk in power as a witness. Hallelujah.
Acts chapter 2, verse 1 through 4. Thank you, Jesus. Can we lift our hands and thank God for this? That we get to walk in this. That we get to experience this. Hallelujah. Thank you, mighty God, for pouring your Spirit out. Hallelujah.
One more verse. "And it shall come to pass. I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh." Praise God. "Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men dream dreams. Your young men see visions."
I want you to lift your hand with me tonight and pray this prayer. "God, give me the heart of Pentecost tonight." Come on, just pray that with me. Come on, lift your voice. "God, give me the heart of Pentecost tonight. Give me the heart of this tonight." Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
Pentecost was a feast on the 50th day after Passover. And on the 50th day, that is when they would have the feast of Pentecost. But it was more than a feast. On this particular day, as Jesus had been crucified, he had gone down into the tomb. He had risen again. He had spent 40 days with his disciples, teaching them. Teaching them things pertaining to the kingdom of God.
And then he said, "I've got to leave you. I've got to leave you." I want you to imagine for a moment. You have become so endeared to this figure. You've seen the expression of his love for you down to the very dying breath. You're thinking about people who stood in front of the cross and made eye contact with a bleeding savior.
They watched him do it and watched him willingly pay a price they couldn't pay and in amazement, he raises again on the third day. Only for just a little bit longer for him to be with you until you see him ascend into heaven. And he says, "I'm coming back, but not like this."
I want you to imagine the emotion that might have swept over those people as they watched their love. No one had ever loved them like that before. There was no earthly love that could measure the amount of love that had been poured out upon them through what Jesus did for them. He was everything.
And then in a moment, he's gone. He disappears into the clouds. And he left them with one statement: "Go to Jerusalem and wait there until you're baptized with power from on high." And they understood what that meant. Because that meant this: Jesus said, "I will send the comforter to you. I am coming to you."
Many have tried to reduce Pentecost down to a form. But Pentecost can't be reduced to a form. Pentecost has a story. It has a certain sound to it. When we read the book of Acts chapter 2, the Bible says the sound of the upper room was filled with people expressing verbally their love for the Lord Jesus Christ.
And they were speaking in unlearned languages. Beyond the audible sound, there was a spiritual sound of Pentecost. And it is the sound of people desperate to see him again. There have been Pentecostal revivals. There have been revivals all throughout history.
Just recently, well, I say recently, back in, I think it was June. If you could throw that up on the screen. William, do the Azusa Street one, the big one. I had the opportunity to visit this place. If you don't know much about Azusa Street Mission, it was a revival that went on for multiple years.
And it literally spread across the globe, this Acts chapter 2 experience as people were filled with the Holy Ghost in masses. And it happened in this little place right here. Now, I know that doesn't look very special. The building doesn't look special, but those cars in that day are very special.
The building wasn't anything to look at. The people were ordinary. But it drew the rich and it drew the poor. It drew people from all over the world. Why? Because they were there to experience Pentecost.
There's a few things that are common denominators that have always taken place leading into revivals like this. Throw them gentlemen up there. William Seymour. William J. Seymour is long gone. This is the man who birthed the Azusa Street revival where thousands upon thousands upon thousands of people received the Holy Ghost and where we pretty much come from today.
When William Seymour started off the Azusa revival, he had no intention of starting a revival like what actually happened. He actually went and preached at a church. He didn't even have the Holy Ghost yet. But he believed in it. He was so hungry for it. You know, that's a precedent for Pentecost, by the way. It's hunger. Real hunger.
We're going to get back to that at the end. He was so hungry for the Holy Ghost, he didn't even care that he didn't have it. He said, "I know God will give it to me. I know it's real. I know you need it. I don't have it yet, but I'm going to tell you you need it too, and we're all going to get it."
And he went and preached at this church out in Los Angeles, and the lady pastor kicked him out and put a lock on the door. She said he wasn't allowed that. There was a family in the church that brought him into their house on Bonnie Bray Avenue.
Can you throw that picture up right here? That's me, and there's nothing really... we'll go backwards. There's nothing really special about this house. It's not a mansion. But in the course of a number of months, hundreds of people received the Holy Ghost in this place.
When I look at houses like this and I think of what happened here, I think of our neighborhoods where a couple in this church that was hungry for the message that William Seymour was preaching said, "Why don't you come to our coffee table and tell us more about this Holy Ghost?"
This is now a historic building now. They can do tours of it. They went into this house, and this couple received the Holy Ghost at the coffee table. They told their friends, and their friends told their friends, told their friends, told their friends.
And so many people began flocking to this house on Bonnie Bray to see what Jesus was doing that they had to bring out the LAPD to direct the traffic. And so many people were standing with hunger, there's that word again, for an experience with God that the front porch on this house caved in.
They had to rebuild it because there were so many people standing on the steps saying, "I want this so bad." I wonder what type of hunger was in their heart. You know, expectation and hunger always precedes an outpouring. If you don't have any hunger for God, you're not going to get anything from it.
Matter of fact, Jesus said it like this. He said, "Blessed are those that hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled." I've got a question for you tonight. Are you hungry for Jesus? Or are you hungry for the world? The world will feed you. It'll feed you. You'll have a malnourished spirit, and you'll lack the one thing you really need, which is God.
You're going to be hungry for something. These people were hungry for God. They ran out of space, obviously, in Bonnie Bray Avenue. So they went down to put up the Azusa Mission again. The other one. Yeah, there you go.
So they got this little building where they were renting rooms out on the second floor. And down in the bottom floor, it was a horse stable. It's all they could afford. But they weren't worried about the buildings. Can I tell you that?
The first place that God said, "I'm going to put my spirit" was in a tent in the desert that moved around. The second place he poured out his spirit was in an upper room, just a room in somebody's house. Here, he poured his spirit out in a horse stable that smelled like poop.
I want you to know I'm excited about moving into this new building. That's great. But the building is not the church. And the building or the lack of a building, the presence of a building, whether you got a multi-million dollar building or you got people in homes all over Dallas, the move of God can happen no matter what.
You can have a building full of people that are not hungry for anything but religion have nothing but a dry, dead room with warm bodies. Sometimes I think I'd rather just have... When I went to Indiana Bible College, I used to hear this man, this pastor, Paul Mooney. And in my immaturity, I admit I didn't understand what he was saying.
There were times when I would almost mock it. He would say to a big old room of people, "I'd rather be in a storefront with 10 people hungry for God than in this building packed floor to ceiling with people who are just hungry for this place."
I want you to know that your pastor's hungry for God. And my goal, and my heart, is I know that people in this world are hungry for God too. They're hungry for Him, but they don't know where to find Him.
But I wonder if sometimes the church gets so religiously cold, losing their hunger because they've gotten fat on the goodness of God, that they've lost their hunger for that experience with Him. The experience that the whole world is groaning for.
I want you to know, from a vision level, my heartbeat for Apostolic Church, maybe you've wondered, what's in pastor's heart for this place? I just want to move for God.
I'll say this to you, and I mean this in the kindest way. If you don't like to move of God, this isn't your place. We're not here for the lights. We love them. Our next building's got them too. We're not here for the sound. We got it. Our next building's got it too.
But if you stripped it all down, you hungry with me? I'll tell you what preceded these types of moves of God. Prayer and a longing. No agenda. They didn't care. Everything was perfect.
You know, we got drive-through church nowadays. It's like a car wash. Go in and get out and get what you need and go back to your week. Hallelujah. One hour with God.
I'll tell you the services. Isn't it funny that the way we structure church sometimes, whenever revival does come, it all has to be unwound? Isn't it funny that the way, if God showed up and busted out in a revival, you'd have to have a little bit longer than an hour and a half church?
The way a lot of times church is oriented is not conducive to Pentecost, where he is supreme. He has all rule. But I want you to know here, hey, last Sunday was an hour and six minutes. Today could be three. Who knows?
And I know some of you are like, really? Three? Three? Hey. As long as Jesus is standing before me, I don't care how long it is. I don't care how long it is. I said from the beginning, and we felt the pressure of it. I said from the beginning, we have unapologetically long church. Why? Because eternity before God is unapologetically long at his feet.
And if coming together as the body of Christ is just a practice for that moment, we're not putting up time. Whatever he wants. Another thing is repentance. Preceding every major move of God throughout history has always been a call for repentance.
What does that mean? You're not going to have a move of God unless you repent and turn and say, "God, whatever you want, however you want it." Every move of God. Throw up Evan Roberts here.
Evan Roberts was a young man who, quite honestly, history would suggest didn't have a lot going for him. He lived in Wales. He was a coal miner. And what would happen in the coal mines wasn't so good. There was a lot of drunkenness and debauchery and gambling and all that stuff.
And on the lunch breaks, all the coal miners would go gamble and drink and tell their dirty stories and stuff. And Evan would go out to the other side of the mine. He was hungry for God. You see it again? And he'd get down on his hands and knees and he would pray this prayer right here.
He would say, "God, bend me. Bend me." And he'd pray it over and over and over again. I want you to pay close attention to what he's saying. He says, "I'm hungry for a move of God that doesn't just placate my emotions and makes me feel good so I can get back to my week."
That prayer would say, "God, answer my needs." He prayed a prayer that says, "God, change who I am. Bend me to be unbendable back to prior form." Are you hungry for the type of move of God that changes your life to the point where some of the things you used to do, some of the things you used to be, some of the ways you used to act, you ain't gonna do it anymore because you've had such an encounter with God that it transformed your life to the very core and essence that you could literally never be the same?
That type of hunger and desperation. That type of hunger and desperation caused Evan Roberts to be filled with the Holy Ghost one day in a coal mine. And he begged his pastor. He felt like God gave him a word. And his pastor said, "You can preach to a couple people down in the basement after service."
And I think there were a couple people that stayed with him. And he just preached repentance. From that moment right there, there began to be a revival that broke out in the nation of Wales. Thousands upon thousands of people received the Holy Ghost. The bars shut down because there was nobody to serve to. And the bartenders wanted what they had.
Gambling houses shut down. Schools closing for an hour of prayer. Businesses shutting down so that they could go to the houses of God and they could pray during the day.
I will be unsatisfied as a human being until I see it just like that right here in Dallas. I'm going to go ahead and speak by faith. Every bar you're shutting down, your days are numbered. Every bartender, you're going to get the Holy Ghost and meet Jesus.
There won't be much interest in the sporting events because the stadiums will be given back to the people. To the people of God who will fill them to worship the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Our schools will have prayer in them again.
Well, one school is about to have it anyways on Sunday mornings. I had a teacher walk by me at high school. She came to the door and she found out who we are. And she told me, she said, "I've been praying that God would send somebody here. These students, this school needs Jesus."
And she told me that. I thought, the power of God is so strong. It's everything I could do to not sit there and start crying in front of her like I am you right now. I was talking to another staff member in this school and she said, "I just want you to know," she's over partnerships between non-profit organizations.
She said, "I believe God needs to be back in schools. And I'm glad y'all are here." Why don't you just lift your hands with me and pray over that school right now? I'm sorry that I'm not preaching the best Pentecost sermon here today. I'm sharing my heart with you.
I wonder if you could just pray over that high school. Why don't you just pray over those students, those parents, those guardians over these kids, the faculty. I'm praying for a revival to break out. Shonda, yeah, that's right. Come on, let the hunger catch you. Let the hunger catch you.
Oh, I want you to just start envisioning them in your mind. Envision a student or a teacher. Envision the faculty, the staff, the administration. Dallas will see the glory of the Lord. Yes, it will.
Come on, God's moving right now. You're doing something and you're moving something in the spirit. God's moving right now. Why don't you just stand right now and just let's go ahead. Go ahead, put your hands south right here toward North Dallas High School and just continue to pray right now.
Come on, stand with me and let's put our hands this way and begin to pray. God's doing something right now. Come on, God's doing something right now. Come on, God's doing something right now.
Come on, let the unction of the Holy Ghost lead you to pray. He was so humble. William Seymour at the Azusa Street Mission. These men challenged me. Eric, you've been reading about him. You've been reading about him. 20th century Pentecost. Revivals and stuff.
William Seymour thought himself not worthy to lead the Azusa Street Mission. He didn't have a fancy pulpit like this, which I'm remembering. I have to buy one. I may not do what Seymour did though. He didn't have no money.
And he stacked some orange crates up one on top of the other. See, God don't need anybody's fancy stuff. He didn't have enough to move. And Seymour would stack up them orange crates and during the worship, so in awe that God would move how he was, he'd crawl up underneath them crates and he'd put his head under them as if to say, "I'm not worthy to be near God. I'm not even worthy to be in your presence. I'm not a human being."
But what is left of those revivals? Throw that street sign up there. That's all that's left of Azusa Street. Yes, the stable's gone. I took this picture. I had my wife drive me down there while we were on vacation.
It says, "Site of the Azusa Street revival from 1906 to 1931." It says underneath it, "Cradle of the worldwide Pentecost movement." Ain't nothing there. It's very likely that many of those churches in Wales aren't there yet.
Why would I tell you that as if that's depressing? Because Pentecost has nothing to do with buildings. I'll tell you what's left of the Azusa Street revival. You're kind of looking at it right now. All the churches around America and around the globe that were impacted by the revival that broke out just a couple simple people.
William Seymour wasn't even afforded the rights that a normal citizen would have. He was an African-American man in the early 1900s. He was blind in one eye and didn't have a lot going for him. Most of his life, professionally, he bussed tables from restaurant to restaurant, didn't make a lot of money. Finished his life without a lot of money.
Because God doesn't need special people to do what he wants to do. I want to say that to encourage somebody in this room tonight. You may feel like you don't have a lot going for you. But maybe it won't be me that God uses to birth a worldwide revival. Maybe it's you who's sitting in this room doubting yourself right now. Maybe it's you.
All right. So they see him go up into heaven. He says, "Go wait in Jerusalem. You're going to experience me again." I want you to know that Pentecost is not... before I say all this, that Pentecost is not about a man. It's not about an organization. It's not about a movement or a person. It's not about us.
Pentecost is not about... I want you to hear me. It's not about the move of God in your life. You said all this to say that Pentecost is not about the move of God. Pentecost is not about miracles, signs, and wonders. Pentecost is not about all these things. Pentecost is about Jesus.
Because when a group of people went down to Jerusalem, found an upper room, they weren't going having punched their ticket to Pentecost to watch the show. No, it was a group of people who were simply desperate to see their love again.
Pentecost at times has become about Pentecost. But it's not about the expression. It's about the person in whom the expression is from. People try and emulate Pentecost. Teach you how to speak in tongues and style your worship in a way.
Pentecost, Jesus is the goal. Pentecost is just the proof that the goal has arrived. Pentecost is a measure that Christ is present. But all Pentecost is, is the full expression of Jesus Christ to the loves that he said, "I'm going to come back to."
Why am I saying this to you today? I'm telling you this this way because I love you. I love Pentecost. Grew up and am a Pentecostal preacher. Okay, it's in my blood. You've hung around long enough. I know I'm not screaming tonight. All right.
But the moment we can get a B3 Hammond organ up here and somebody can play it. If there's any... we found out there's some people that have been here that we didn't know that could play instruments. If you do play an instrument, let me know. If you play a B3, let us know.
I love that stuff. But if Pentecost, the form eclipses the reason for it, which is Christ, then you'll settle for a form of God but lack the power because the real power of Pentecost is in Christ.
Pentecost is the full expression of Christ being present among his people. How do I know that? Because Jesus said, "I'm going to come back and be with you again." And all of a sudden, as they were gathered together, waiting, there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the house where they were seated.
And they all began to speak with other tongues as the spirit of God gave them utterance. That is not about Pentecost. It's about him. If we will keep our eyes on Jesus, we'll see more Pentecost than you ever could imagine seeing.
Because Pentecost don't heal nobody. Pentecost don't fill nobody with the Holy Ghost. Jesus does that. Nobody fills nobody with the Holy Ghost but Jesus. Nobody heals somebody's body but Jesus. Miracles, signs, and wonders are done by nobody else but Jesus.
I want to see that. We were talking about at the high school. It was built in 1921. So there were no ADA requirements. And we're like, well, if somebody shows up in a wheelchair, we're going to have to make them go around here and go here and then get an elevator and go up here and then go here. It's a long route.
And I started thinking to myself, man, it's going to be nice one day when there's a prayer team on the steps and people are getting out of wheelchairs to come into church. I wonder if somebody would have that kind of faith. I wonder if somebody will believe God for what God can actually do.
Hey. God can do more than you think he can. Our little limitations don't limit God. God is bigger than your imagination. He's bigger than your limitations. God can do whatever God wants to do.
And there's coming a day where we don't have closets enough. I've told you about this when I visited Prophet T.W. Barnes Church down in Minden, Louisiana in that old building before they got rid of it. There was a closet in the back of the room. You open the door to the closet in the back of the room and it's spilling with crutches and wheelchairs.
Why? Because the people came and they found out who Jesus was. And the Bible says about Jesus that he heals all manner of diseases. That's not about Pentecost. That's about Jesus. That's about Jesus.
If we will be like the people on the day of Pentecost, just hungry for the liver of our soul, we will experience Pentecost. And Pentecost is the full expression of Jesus Christ being present.
I would go as far as to say is if you don't have Pentecost, you do not have the full expression of Jesus. If you do not have Pentecost, you do not have the full expression of Christ because the full expression of Christ looks like Acts chapter two.
When he says, "I'm going to come to you," and he shows up. I'm not going to give no fancy altar call today. Sometimes you feel like you have to preach people to an altar. I'm just interested in telling you about what you can have in Jesus.
And if that sounds like something you want, we don't come down here. We're going to pray together today, but I'm looking for God to do a shift in this congregation today. I'm looking for God to do a shift in our hearts today, in your life today, because what God is getting ready to do in this earth, God is getting ready to do in Dallas.
He's going to use you to do it, but you've got to have a heart that longs for his full expression. Do you hunger for him? Like these great men have hungered, people of God. Are you willing to pray the prayer that says, "Bend me to unbendable?"
Are you willing to forsake this world and say, "Take this world, give me Jesus?" Stand all over this place today before I invite you down to this altar. Why don't you just lift your hands with me right now and just begin to talk to God and let him begin to paint a vision in your heart right now.
Let's talk to him right now. If God is ministering to you right now, I want you to begin to make your way down to this altar area to stand, kneel, lay prostrate before God, whatever that looks like for you.
The altar is the place where flesh goes to die. There are some things in us that have to die tonight. If we're going to have the full expression of Christ, it looks like Pentecost. Come on. Are you hungry for him right now? Are you desperate for him right now?
I'm desperate for him. I'm desperate to see him. I'm desperate to feel him. I'm desperate to experience him. I'm desperate for Dallas to see him, for Dallas to experience him. I'm desperate for my lost loved ones to know him. I'm desperate for the move of God.
I'm desperate not for a portion of the expression of Christ. I am desperate for the full expression of God. I'm ready for Jesus to make himself enthroned among us. I'm ready for things to break out like we've never seen them break out before.
Make way for you, Jesus. But every idol you've got to knock out of my life, knock it out. Anything that's got to go, move it. Bend me. Bend me. Jesus. Jesus.
Come on. Come on, let your soul cry out unto him right now. Let your soul cry out to him right now. Oh, I wonder what God could do with this group of people. I wonder what God could do with this group of people. Sold out. Hungry for him. Set their mind on the things of the kingdom.
I wonder what God could use you to do. Come on, build an altar right here. This is the moment where it changes. Come on, mark this moment. Make a memorial before God. This place right here on this square of carpet.
So often we get our eyes on everything that's a product of Jesus. I'm just here to remind us tonight that Pentecost is just the proof of Jesus. It's the proof of Jesus. Because when Jesus says he's going to show up, that's what it looks like.
Can you lift your hands with me and say, "God, we want your full expression in this church. We want your full expression in this church." Make it personal. Start with you. "I want your full expression in my life. In my prayer life. I want your full expression in my home with my family. I want your full expression in this church."
We go beyond it now. "I want your full expression on display in this city. I want your full expression, everything that you are and nothing less. I want your full expression in this state, in this nation."
God, we pray for this country right now and we say, "God, send a sweeping Acts 2:38 to our lives." It's all about Jesus. You know, things get a lot simpler when you realize salvation is about Jesus. Everything is about him.
It even says that marriage is about Jesus. Everything is about him. You know what that makes it real simple? All I've got to do is keep my eyes on Jesus and keep my heart burning for Jesus, and then I will become like him and others will see and know those people have been with Jesus and they've heard about this Jesus.
They know what he can do. You look like him and you sound like him. They're going to find him. Hallelujah. Praise God. You can pray as long as you want tonight. I had something I was going to say, but I cannot remember.
Somebody this week, write it down. Write it down. Because you'll forget it. And here I am, I didn't write it down. One of my mentors always tells me this, "Bubba, write it down." He's an old country man from Oklahoma. A good man. He prays for this church. He's a good man. Maybe you'll meet him one day. I want him to come preach. I think he'll come sometime.
Are you guys excited about this move? Because I'm excited about this move. I'm excited about this move. Now, if you weren't here last week, I'll tell you what I said last week. It's crazy because this is the first building that I ever prayed over in Dallas.
One late, late night, me and a friend who was visiting from out of town, now he had a similar thing on his heart to do, and he's done it. He started the church in Louisiana, and we were just dreaming together.
And we shouldn't have done this, but we walked all the way from... I can't believe I think it was City Place Dart Station to Deep Ellum at two in the morning. I know, I know. But that was pre-COVID. Deep Ellum got crazy after COVID.
And we were walking around and we walked up to the steps of North Dallas High School and we got out a bottle of... I don't even know why we had it. And we put it on the door and we claimed it. We claimed it. I said, "God, if you ever call us to start a church in Dallas, I want to be in this place at some point."
And it's crazy how God works. There's really only... I said this last week, there's really only one other place that that happened. I sat in the parking lot of this church and said, "God, if you ever call us to start a church in Dallas, I'd love to meet at this place at some point."
God answers prayers in long ways sometimes, all the time. You know, we initially... this place that we're going, when we first started, we were trying to go there and they told us no. And so now all of a sudden it's worked out, and we thank God for that.
I want you to know this is a God door. It's a divine door that we're walking into. I will give you the opportunity to put the lights up. I will give you the opportunity that I extended last week.
You know, we don't have our own building, and so this is not you giving to a building campaign. And I don't even want to consider it like that. But I do want you to know that it's not just picking up and moving from here to there.
Trinity, this church has been so kind to let us use these cameras and these screens and these speakers and the soundboard back there and all these computers. You know, we have to buy all of that. And for most of it, I'd say about a good two-thirds of this move, we have been able to buy all of it.
But we still lack a few purchases on signage, on a screen so you can actually see what I'm talking about when we're preaching and worshiping. So if God moves on you to give, Dalen said it earlier, God loves a cheerful giver.
But there is also an element of sacrificial giving. And we've never taken up a sacrificial offering here in this church. But if God leads you to a sacrificial offering, I want to encourage you to say yes to God.
It will be a great blessing to this church in this season as we transition into this new space. Oh, we moved it. Kenny already moved it. Our sound, our new soundboard that we bought was sitting over here. So we've got a few things and we're almost done with it.
But we do need some finances to get into this new space. And it's not an investment into equipment. It's an investment into creating a space where people are going to be able to see Jesus and encounter Jesus.
And so that's what we're doing is we're creating an environment where people can meet Jesus. Love you guys. Neighborhoods this week, let's do this on the night of neighborhoods this week. Why don't we do that? If you're part of a neighborhood, why don't we fast this week? Let's have our neighborhoods fast together.
### Quotes for Outreach
1. "Expectation and hunger always precedes an outpouring. If you don't have any hunger for God, you're not going to get anything from it. Matter of fact, Jesus said it like this. He said, blessed are those that hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. I've got a question for you tonight. Are you hungry for Jesus? Or are you hungry for the world? The world will feed you. It'll feed you. You'll have a malnourished spirit, and you'll lack the one thing you really need, which is God. You're going to be hungry for something." 2. "The building is not the church. He would say to a big old room of people, he'd say, I'd rather be in a storefront with 10 people hungry for God than in this building packed Florida ceiling with people who are just hungry for this place." 3. "Repentance. Preceding every major move of God throughout history has always been a call for repentance. What does that mean? You're not going to have a move of God unless you repent and turn and say, God, whatever you want, however you want it. Every move of God. Throw up Evan Roberts here. Evan Roberts was a young man who who quite honestly history would suggest didn't have a lot going for him. He lived in Wales. He was a coal miner. And what would happen in the coal mines wasn't so good. There's a lot of drunkenness and debauchery and gambling and all that stuff. And on the lunch breaks, all the coal miners would go gamble and drink and tell their dirty stories and stuff. And Evan would go out to the other side of the mine. He was hungry for God." 4. "William Seymour thought himself not worthy to lead the Azusa Street Mission. He didn't have a fancy pulpit like this, which I'm remembering. I have to buy one. I may not do what Seymour did though. He didn't have no money. And he stacked some orange crates up one on top of the other. See, God don't need anybody's fancy stuff. He didn't have enough to move. And Seymour would stack up them orange crates and during the worship, so in awe that God would move how he was, he'd crawl up underneath them crates and he'd put his head under them as if to say, I'm not worthy to be near God. I'm not even worthy to be in your presence. I'm not a human being." [01:09:05](Download raw clip | Download cropped clip | Download vertical captioned clip)

If you have the Holy Ghost, I want you to lift your hands tonight and say, God, help me to walk in that power. Let's pray that right now. Hallelujah." [44:08](Download raw clip | Download cropped clip | Download vertical captioned clip)
