Preparing to Receive God's Power Through Relationship

by Dreamer's Church
on Nov 05, 2023

Hi Dreamer's, your chatbot for this sermon is being created and we'll email you at joe.simon.facebook@gmail.com when it's ready

Good morning, Dreamers! My name's Joe, and I'm one of the lead leaders here at Dreamers Church. I'd love to welcome everybody who's here and who's watching us online. We are so glad that you are here with us today, and for those of you that are new, we are so excited that you're here. You are our VIPs of this service.

I just want to give you a snapshot of what to expect. We're going to go into three more songs, and then we have a special guest speaker today as our lead pastors are getting some much-needed rest and respite that they definitely need. So afterwards, please don't rush off. We do have a meet and greet that we would love you to come to.

All of us here in this room, we're all broken dreamers, aren't we? We're all broken. This is why we're here. We're here to encounter the presence of God, and you know what? We're here to trust it all, so let's trust it all to Jesus as we come into worship today.

Jesus, every breath, every word I speak, every step, with every heartbeat, let it be for You, for You only, in my whole life, all for Your glory. Your love, because of You, Jesus. God, You are my God, give You all my heart is over why. Jesus, let it be for You, for You only, in my whole life, all for Your glory. My life is in Your hands, I trust it all, I trust it all to You. My dreams and all my plans, I trust it all.

Thank you! Life for me, I'm forever in love with You.

I'm forever in love with Jesus because of His love. He is everything I need, and I trust Him with all my plans and dreams. He is my firm foundation, the Rock on which I stand when everything around me is shaking. He has never let me down, and His faithfulness is faithful through generations. I am safe with Him, and I'm gonna make it through because my house was built on Him. Whenever I'm changed, I'll never be the same because of His love.

We worship Him and bless His name, Jesus. He won't fail us, He won't fail us, He won't fail us. He is faithful in every season, and He won't fail us. We lift our voices and magnify His name, Jesus. He gave His life for me, and I'm forever in love with Him. For mine nailed to the cross, You crucified all my sin and shame. It was washed by Your mercy, my reason for living, so let my life become an offering to the one who is worthy.

All praise to the Lord Most High, oh praise to the one who saved my life, oh praise to Jesus Christ, High King of Heaven, my King forever. You stormed the gates of my heart, now You hold the keys to the grave, 'cause You bring things to life away from home. Pray to the Lord Most High, oh praise to Jesus Christ, to Jesus Christ, High King of Heaven, my King forever.

Give You all the praise this morning, Jesus. I lift my hands up and lay my whole life down, my whole life down before You. I lift my hands up, it's for You. I lift my hands up and lay my whole life down, my whole life down before You. I lift my hands up and play my whole life down, my whole life now is for You. I lift my hands up, lay my whole life down, my whole life down before You. I lift my hands up, lay my whole life down, my whole life now it's for You.

Oh praise to the one who saved my life, all praise to Jesus Christ, Heaven, my King forever. I lift my hands up and lay my whole life down, my life down before You. I lift my hands up, lay my whole life down, my whole life now it's for You. Thank You, oh praise Jesus Christ.

Come on, every voice in this place, all praise, all praise Jesus Christ.

All my words for sure, I've got nothing. How could I express? I could sing these songs as I often do, every song and You never do. So I throw up my hands, praise You again and again. It's all that I have is nothing else but for kids. Thank You, I've got one response about just, I will worship You.

So I throw up my hands, praise You again and again. It's all that I have is nothing else. Hallelujah, it's coming my soul. Oh don't you get shy, lift up your song. You've got a lion inside of those lungs, get up and praise the Lord.

Come on, my soul, Lord don't you get shy on me, lift up your song. You've got a lion inside of those lungs, get up and praise the Lord. Come on, my soul, oh don't you get shy with me, lift up your song, 'cause you've got a mountain inside of those lungs, get up and praise the Lord.

Okay, hallelujah, it's coming my soul.

Except for our hearts, you know I just feel in my spirit that we need to stay here a little bit longer. You know when the presence of God shows up, we don't run away, we don't end a service, we don't move on, because this is what we're here for. The spirit of God is what we're here for, the power of God is what we're here for.

And I don't know what kind of week you had. I don't know what kind of situations or challenges you're going through, but if I could just speak to my heart in this place a little bit, sometimes we need to quiet the weak, sometimes we need to quiet the challenges and quiet the situations and quiet the things that distract us from the Holy Spirit.

Because can I tell you the Holy Spirit has so much for you. The Holy Spirit has so much for your family, has so much for your job situation, for your financial situation. And so all across this room, can we throw up our hands and say, "God, I just want to praise You, God, I just want to worship You, God, I want to stay here a little longer."

Come on, praise You again and again, it's all that I have is not much. I'm nothing else fitted for a king except for a heart's praise You again and again. Hallelujah, I know it's not mine, but I've nothing else. Thank You, God.

We dwell in Your presence, Father, we dwell in Your presence. God, I pray just make Yourself known in our hearts today. God, just make Yourself so apparent in our lives today. God, all across this room, wherever we are in our faith journey, we say it all the time here at Dreamers Church, it's just one step at a time.

God, we pray that You show us that step today, show us that freedom today, show us that purpose today, show us that breakthrough today. God, we just give You praise, we just give You worship in this place, and all across this room, everyone said amen, amen, amen.

Come on, let's give a bigger shout than that. It is an amazing day to be in the house of God. Come on, church, we are so glad that you are here this Sunday morning. Go ahead, say hi to a couple of people, meet someone you've never met before, learn their name.

Kids, you have been worshiping so hard, I heard it from over there, you guys are amazing. Go ahead and follow your leaders through the back, you're gonna have an amazing time at kids just hearing about Jesus. Come on.

All right, church, well if this is your first time here, I just want to say welcome. My name is Cynthia, I'm part of the leadership team here at Dreamers Church. As you heard from Miss Joe, our pastors are taking a well-deserved vacation, taking some time away with their kids just to be united and be with their family. I know that they are getting recharged and so blessed by this.

So church, thank you for allowing them to be able to take that vacation, take that little step away. And in the meantime, if this is your first time, can I just say welcome home? You know we believe so, so firmly, if you were here last week, we believe in a community that is like family, and everybody has a different kind of family, but here family matters, family is so important.

We want to be part of your life, and we want you to be a part of ours. So if you see it in the back of the seat in front of you, there is a black card, and that card is what we call our connect card here, and that is the way for you to get connected with Dreamers Church.

So if you're here for the first time, or even if you've been here before and haven't filled out that card, can I just tell you to fill that out? It is so, so important. It's a way for us to be able to connect with you, get to know you, hear a little bit about your story. We would love to give you a call and just share our heart with you about the church and about where we're going, the journey that we are on.

That card is also going to be the way for you to sign up for everything - Dreamers, small groups, baptisms, prayer requests. If there's something that's on your heart, something that you're working through that you would love the pastoral team to be praying with you, to come alongside of you, just fill out that card.

Once you fill that out, later on, we're going to pass out our offering buckets, and if you just drop that card there, even in the back of the auditorium, there's a black box on your way out, just drop it in there, and we would love, love to connect with you.

After service, we have a class called Next Steps. Next Steps is the way for you to take a next step here at Dreamers. That class is a way for you to learn a little bit about the church, our story, kind of what we believe, why do we believe what we believe.

I believe it was maybe seven years ago, six or seven years ago, that class was actually where I had just a radical revelation of what God was going to do in my life and the purpose that He had for me. So I would just encourage you, if you've been coming to Dreamers Church and you haven't been part of that class, or even if this is your first time here, it is right after service.

We have snacks and childcare provided. Miss Bree is going to be in that room to help us lead the charge on Next Steps. So right outside of these doors to your right-hand side, drop in, say hi. We want to connect with you, we want to hear your story - how did you come to Austin, why did you end up at Dreamers? All of these things are things that we want to know. We would love, love to connect with you.

So with that, we have so much more in store for you a little bit later. You're going to hear from Pastor Rob, who is here to just bless us with the word of God. But before we get there, I am going to turn it over to our time of generosity.

Hey there, everybody, it's a good time to be here. We get to continue our focus on who God is, even though we're shifting to talking about giving. We're still focusing on who God is. You'll see that in a second.

A scripture that we're going to put in front of you today is Second Corinthians 9:6-8, and it says, "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

Paul wrote in a letter that God loves a cheerful giver and not to give reluctantly or under compulsion. Paul had a confidence in who God was, in His generosity, and in the fact that when he had given in his life, he saw that come back. This is a confidence that we can have also, that as we sow, God is always faithful and loves being generous. We can look to Him for our blessing.

Today, we have some wonderful announcements. Laura, myself, and the kids are away on vacation this weekend, but we get back this week and can't wait to see you next weekend. Small groups are happening right now, and if you're not in one, we'd love for you to get signed up and be in a small group to get connected in deep community.

All you need to do is click on the QR code next to me or fill out the connect card in front of you and just check the box for small groups, and we'll reach out to you with more info. We also have our small group leaders training coming up, and because of all the church growth we've had, we need more small groups assistant leaders and host homes. If you're interested in one of those three, please fill out the connect card, and we'll give you a call with more information about the small group leader.

We have an exciting training coming up in August. Over the last year, our church has more than doubled in size, and we have seen God do so many amazing things. As we have grown, we now need to figure out how to go to two services. Our leadership and eldership are discussing this and will give more information over the next month or two.

To help us with this transition, we need everyone to take the next steps. The first step is to attend the Next Steps class and learn about the church, our mission, vision, and values. The second step is to sign up for the Dream Team. We need more people to help with sound, production, greeting, auditorium, kids, youth, and hospitality. Even if you don't think you have much gifting, there is a place for you, and we will help you find it.

Today, we have a special guest speaker, Pastor Rob Harrell. He has planted a church over 30 years ago and has had a huge impact on Austin. Let's stand and thank Pastor Rob Harrell for the impartation into our church and for his message today.

Today, thanks so much for the invitation to Dreamers Church. Can we just offer a word to the Lord and ask Him to lead us in His scriptures today? Father, we pray that You'd speak to our hearts and that there'd be great joy in receiving what You want to challenge us with today. Thank You, Father, that it is Your design and Your sovereign will and purpose that each one of us are in this place in this moment for this purpose.

We ask God that You'd speak to us in powerful ways and that we'd be encouraged as we make our way into the world as we leave this place this morning. In Jesus' name, we pray, amen.

How many here really want to experience the power of God through the presence of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us? Who wants to moment by moment be led by God's spirit expressed in power? Don't you want that now?

It's an interesting thing to consider because sometimes you really do desire it, but for some reason, you don't see it manifest in your life, right? That's my experience sometimes. However, you hardly expect it, but it shows up in your life, right? That power of God.

I want to tell you a couple of stories to begin. Years ago, when I was a very young pastor (I know I still look young, but years ago when I really was young in my 20s), I got a phone call from a family that said, "Pastor, please come to the hospital. We think our grandmother, mother, sister is going to pass away."

So I drove my car, parked in the clergy parking space, and went into the hospital. I walked in the room, and there she was, laying in the bed, IVs in her arms, a monitor, the pulse being taken care of. You could see it bleep, blip, blip, and they all said, "Pastor, we think this is it. Could you pray for our grandmother, our mother?"

I said, "Sure," and I have to tell you, I prayed one of the most limp prayers I've ever prayed in my life. "Oh God, we know You can heal our sister, we know You can bring her back to life, and if it's Your will."

Well, you won't believe what happened. All of a sudden, she wakes up, and she starts yanking out the IV tubes and all that sort of thing, and the machine's going nuts and crazy, and she sits up in the bed, and she came back to life. I couldn't believe it, especially after such a powerful prayer I prayed.

I remember as a young pastor in my 20s, I'm walking out to my car, and I just started laughing. I stopped in the parking lot, and I just started laughing. I said, "You healed her, You answered my prayer, You raised her to life." I couldn't believe it.

Have you ever had that experience or said you believed in the power of God, but when it happened, you went, "Man, I am totally shocked"? I didn't expect that.

At one time in my life, when I was in my 40s or maybe my 50s, I got a phone call from a couple, actually from a man, who had been very instrumental in the transition of our church and welcomed a bunch of young people. They were the "Stand in the Gap" couple, and the man, Al, called me as his pastor and asked if I could please come over to his house. He said he thought his wife, Joanne, had passed away.

I said I'd be there immediately, and when I got there, Al told me she was in the back bedroom, and he thought she was gone. We got down on the floor next to Joanne, and I remember praying a very fervent prayer, a real prayer, a prayer of faith. I looked at Al and asked if it would be okay if we asked God to bring Joanne back to life.

We got down on our knees, put our hands on her shoulders, and began to pray. I asked God to please raise Joanne and keep her with us. I knew my prayer was sincere and trusting and faith-filled, but she didn't come back to life. I realized God was not going to say yes to this one, so I said to Al it was okay for us to let her go.

Life is filled with those kinds of prayers and expectancies when we want to walk in the power of God and believe that if the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us, He will make alive our mortal bodies, and His power will be manifest in our lives.

But the question is, is there any way we can access that power more readily? Are there any actions we can take, any basis we need to understand, so that we see more of God's power demonstrated in our lives and through our lives?

There is no formula, no five-step plan, where we can say if we do these five things, then we will see God's power manifest every moment in our lives. But there are some clues, especially in the New Testament, that can help us to understand how to access the power of God in our lives.

The book of Acts has become something very important to Dreamers Church. We want to see God manifest His power and His presence like they did in the early church and believe that it is not just a historical expression but for today too.

To avail ourselves to the power of God in our lives, Acts chapter 1 is a very interesting chapter. It is the promise of the coming of God's Holy Spirit so that we can be filled with His power to be His witnesses to everyone in the world.

In this chapter, Jesus gave instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles He had chosen. After His suffering, He showed Himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that He was alive. He appeared to them over a period of 40 days and spoke about the kingdom of God.

On one occasion, while He was eating with them, He gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.” For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

When they met together, they asked Him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Jerusalem to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or the dates that the Father has set by His own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the Earth.”

After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight.

We pray that God takes the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts and makes them pleasing in His sight. We ask that the Holy Spirit speaks to His people today and makes these truths come alive. We ask that God does a work in us all this day as we seek to walk in the power of His Holy Spirit in Jesus' name.

Preparing to receive God's power begins, I believe, by understanding God's truth. Look at verse 1: "I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and teach until the day He was taken up into heaven."

Now what is it Jesus taught before He left? And sometimes we forget this, but Jesus was actually on the Earth for 40 more days after His resurrection. That's kind of cool, I think. I mean, wouldn't you have loved to be one of the disciples at that time to have Jesus resurrected Lord come alongside and spend 40 days with you teaching you what comes next? I love it.

But what did He teach? It says here that He taught convincing proofs that He was alive, He taught understanding about the kingdom of God, He gave specific instructions to His chosen, and one of the things He taught were some things that were not privy to know taught to His disciples in those 40 days.

So let me answer this way: whom did He instruct? The apostles that He had chosen, and through whom did He teach them? Through the power of the Spirit, and how long did He teach them? 40 days. And what event terminated His teaching? When He was taken up into heaven.

Now honestly, I just have to imagine those disciples saying, "Don't go, Lord, don't go. We want more, tell us more." He said, "No, I'm just going to send the Holy Spirit, and He's going to teach you all things. It's better that I go because then the Spirit will come and indwell all of you who believe."

Now I want to ask this question: is it possible to receive God's power without understanding God's truth? What do you think? Well, maybe that's a good answer, but it's highly unlikely. You see, I believe God's power manifested is directly correlated to God's truth understood. That's really important to know.

What keeps us from understanding God's truth? Well, one is we just don't even pursue it, or two, we don't persevere in our pursuit like the Book of Proverbs said, or we don't accept it when it's shared with us, or we don't ask the Holy Spirit to make it clear to us.

You know, one of the things I do, and I just love doing it, I walk every day. I had a heart attack in 2005, and I've tried to stay up, you know, and so I walk my ten thousand steps every day. Here's what I do when I walk: sometimes I turn on my Bible app and just listen to scripture. That's really cool; I mean, it really changes your understanding of things just having the word of God, the written word, dwelling you richly.

But most of the time what I do after I've listened to the written word, I'll say, "Lord, who do You want me to call to tell them I'm thinking about them?" John, Pastor Rob here. The Lord just laid you on my heart, and I want you to know I prayed for you today. It's interesting how often people call me and say, "You won't believe what I was going through the minute you called me." That's understanding in my view.

God's truth is that He wants us to be sensitive so that we're in a position to receive His power.

Here's a second idea I think is really important. Preparation to receive God's power involves ready waiting in God's presence. On one occasion while He was eating with them, verse 4 says He gave this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait." That's not an American idea, is it? We don't like waiting. You hear our sermon, and you just go out and want to put it into practice. You say that's the way we live our lives, but what does Jesus say? You want to receive the power of the Spirit, then you got to wait. You got to be still and know that He's God.

Now this principle of waiting is a big deal in Scripture. Psalm 38:15 says, "I wait for You, O Lord, and You will answer me." Isaiah 30:18 says, "The Lord longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion, for the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are those who wait for Him." Lamentations 3 says, "The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord." And Psalm 130:5 says, "I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I put my hope."

My soul waits for the Lord more than a watchman waits for the morning. Do you think this is a big deal? I mean, there are so many scriptures in the Bible that talk about waiting. Why is it so important to wait? Because it's a demonstration of our total dependence on God to be the one to do the work. It strips us from thinking we're the ones that accomplish the work. It gives God space to work His way in His time.

But still, I gotta say it, I don't like waiting. I want to learn it and share it. I want to get right to it. Waiting is not easy, and I don't want to just try it.

So here's a third principle I want you to see here. Preparation to receive God's power includes gathering with God's people. In the book of Acts, most often the power of God shows up in the people of God as they gather.

So I want you to close your eyes, bow your head, and wait in the presence of God. Say this: "Lord, would You speak to me?" Ready? Here we go. Wow, that felt like an hour. Did God say anything to anybody? Put thoughts in your heart and your mind to ponder. That's the way God speaks.

It's in the waiting. God shows up in power as the people of God gather together and seek Him. We see this throughout the Bible, for example, in Acts chapter 1 verse 12, as they gathered together, God gave wisdom to choose the next apostle. In Acts 2 verse 1, as they gathered together, God sent His Holy Spirit, and the church was born. In Acts 3:32, as they gathered together, God sent His Holy Spirit, and the church was born again. In Acts 6:2, as they gathered together, God gave wisdom on how to meet the widow's needs. In Acts 13:1, as they gathered together, God identified Saul and Barnabas to be sent out. In Acts 15, as they gathered together, God gave wisdom about Jews and Gentiles being grafted together in one body.

So let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good works. Let us not give up the meeting together as some are in the habit of doing, but rather let us encourage one another and all the more as we see the day approaching, says the writer of Hebrews in chapter 10.

Listen, everybody here needs at least three people in your life. Number one, everyone here needs a Paul, someone that's a mentor just a little ahead of you, just out front, someone you can talk to about your progress in the Christian life. Secondly, everybody needs a Barnabas, someone that's alongside you, someone that's about the same experience and maybe even the same age as you are that walks alongside. Thirdly, every person needs a Timothy, someone you're investing in, someone you're giving your life to, sharing scriptural principles and progress of your own life in their life.

Timothies are so important because they hold us accountable. You can't give to somebody which you don't have.

But also this idea of a Paul having a mentor, having someone that you can ask, sit in their presence, and gain understanding. My pastored, as Pastor Pancho said, I pastored the same church for 27 years, and I got to a place where I'm getting a little older, I'm 62. I want, I feel healthy still, and I want to help other pastors, I want to hang out with other people, I want some freedom.

So I transitioned from being a senior pastor in one place all these years, a total of 40 years of ministry altogether, into my own non-profit. Now one of the things I do say, "Sunday's coming," but I don't care. I'm just saying the pressure is off, I get to just show up where I get asked to show up. It's kind of fun, but something happened to me, and as I moved from one calling to another, I didn't do what I just told you to do to have a Paul, a Barnabas, and a Timothy. I got isolated, and I remember I felt lost, not lost from Jesus, but lost in my direction and my purpose.

I wasn't really reaching out to people because I was just not familiar with the new thing, and the enemy could have taken some great liberty with me in those days. Praise God there were some buddies that came alongside, and they said, "We're going to walk with you in this."

So what am I saying to you? Even an experienced pastor like myself can make a mistake not to gather. We must prepare for the coming power of God by understanding His truth and gathering with His people.

But there is one last principle I want you to take home: we must know God's person. Knowing the Bible, church, and traditional things is not the same. If Jesus were to come from behind the curtain right now, we would all get down on our face, and He would correct anything we have said thus far.

The disciples knew who Jesus was, and they knew He would come again. They knew He would be recognized because they had spent time with Him, listened to His voice and teaching, and watched how He lived. We can spend time with Jesus too, even though He is invisible. Knowing Jesus and spending time in His presence changes everything.

In Acts 4:13, when the Sanhedrin saw the courage of Peter and John, they were astonished and took note that these were unschooled, ordinary men. Men had been with Jesus, and everybody knew it. Something happened when you were with Jesus, something about the way you spoke and lived your life that was attractive to some and repelling to those who did not want to believe.

But they knew something, and God and Jesus knew something. We had been together with Him, and that laid the foundation of understanding God's truth.

Waiting in God's presence, gathering with God's people, and knowing God's person, so that we might be the ones to see the manifestation of the power of God in us and through us, because He is our focus.

I want to tell you a closing story. My son had been living abroad building embassies since he graduated 20 years ago and had just moved back to Texas. We were delighted with his wife and our newest grandchild. He had met a lovely young French girl while living in Djibouti, and they had become more than friends.

The only problem was that she had grown up in France and was from an atheist background. We were a little concerned about this, especially his sister and mother. I was the peacemaker and said that I would talk to our future daughter-in-law.

We went and sat on the back deck, and I explained the gospel from Genesis to Revelation. I was so clear and thought I had it covered. At the end of the conversation, she said she just couldn't believe it. My wife then said to her that she should ask God to help her believe in her heart what she knew in her head.

She went to visit her sister in South America and went into a Catholic cathedral. She asked God to show her in her heart what she knew to be true in her head. The Holy Spirit came upon her, and she said yes to the Living God and was thoroughly converted.

We were sitting in our living room with my wife, our sweet daughter-in-law to be, our son, and me. My wife said we needed to think this through, and our daughter-in-law raised her hand and said she loved the Lord Jesus with all of her heart.

The power of God - are we experiencing that power? Is it the way we live our lives with an awareness that the Holy Spirit is carrying us? Are we seeing evidences of His power?

I know what it's like to be defeated, even as a pastor of a church for 27 years, to feel a sense of loss. I just want to invite you to seek the Lord and ask the Lord, "Would You show me, O God, would You help me experience that power that You speak of in the book of Acts? To be a witness for You, to live a life of purity with You, to live a life of forgiveness and the power of Your Spirit to walk in holiness, to set aside any besetting sin.

Oh God, I want that power, I want to be used by You, Lord. I understand that there are leaders here in the church that would be happy to pray with you. Some of those leaders might want to just come and stand at the front; that would be awesome.

My point is this, and I hope you hear it: don't leave this place without resolve. Walk out of here today saying, "I'm on the path." First of all, there might be someone here that's never ever come to know the person of Jesus, heard about Him, and you might even believe in Him a little bit, but you've never placed your confidence, trusted Him as your savior, your advocate, your life.

Perhaps this could be the day you mark down on your calendar, July 2nd, 2023, that's the day I said to Lord Jesus, "I trust You, Lord Jesus, thank You for moving in my heart, thank You for helping me to believe in my heart what I know to be true in my head."

Come on and pray with someone, come on and pray with someone and invite Jesus to be not only your savior, your Lord, but also your life and your power to walk in the freedom of the Holy Spirit.

Lord Jesus, like my sweet daughter-in-law said, "I love You with all of my heart." Lord, if there's any doubt among any people, would You just lead them down now, Lord, to come and pray, and if they're bashful to pray right where they are and say, "Lord Jesus, please, if the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in me, make alive my mortal body, give me life in Jesus' name."

All my words for this, I've got nothing new, how good I am to do every song, so I throw up my hands, praise You again and again. Except for a hard singing, I've got one response, I got just, I will worship You, praise You again and again. It's all that I have is not much, I have nothing else fit for a king, except for our hearts.

So I throw up my hands, praise You again and again. It's all that I have is not much, I'm nothing else but for a king, except for a hard singer.

Father God, we just thank You for the word brought today, Lord, that we would just be able to experience Your power, that God we would be in the...

Thank you so much for pouring into our house. You are a father to us and to our pastor, and we are so thankful for You.

Pastor Rob was speaking about the importance of having a Paul, Barnabas, and Timothy in our lives. If you don't have that person in your life, I encourage you to get someone's phone number before you leave today. The people at the front are a good resource, and there are Timothys, Pauls, and Barnabases in this room that you can get.

Our team will stay up here for a little bit if there are people in this room who still need prayer. No matter what's going on in your life, there is a family that wants to come alongside of you, love on you, challenge you, and cheer you on in what God has for your life.

On your way out, there is a bag in the back of the auditorium that is a gift from us to you. It tells you a little bit about our story and who we are as a church. If you haven't been to the Next Steps class, there will be snacks and childcare provided. Feel free to come say hi, and we would love to see you as part of that class.

Before you leave, invite someone to your cookout and have an amazing July 4th weekend. We love you guys!
