Could you let us know why so that we can improve our ministry?

Foreign guys, we're just happy to be here and we're happy that you're here. So, what can you do? You can share this message. We want you to invite all your friends, your followers, your grandma. We could have influencers on here right now. Yeah, we shared to thousands of people, all of our influences, and we're here for it. I'm excited for church today, but mostly I'm excited to learn a little bit about you today, Liz. I'm excited, yo. We're going to learn a bit about Lizzie May. Good, here we go.
I've known her since she was Lizzie May Garrison OG, married in '21. It's gonna be about Lizzy. I'm just kidding, church is about Jesus, but we are about to learn about it. Lizzy, I have some questions for you. All right, and I want you to be honest, be honest.
All right, what is the weirdest food you've ever eaten? You better be ready for this. Okay, hit me with it. Hit us with it. 2016 here, y'all. All right, here we go. Uganda, you go. Oh, side of the road pork out of a five-gallon bucket, and it was really good.
No way, was it really finger-licking good? Let me tell it, was it? Yeah, okay, I crave it more. Chicken lady is wanting that five-gallon bucket pork. All right, let's move on. Oh, I can't. Does anybody else like visualizing that, right? It was good, I promise. I cannot, okay.
All right, moving on from the bucket pork. If you could choose any age to remain forever, I have a good answer for this. What age would you choose? Maybe like 68, because it was 68. All right, because I can go to Jack's at 5 a.m. sure with all my friends, right? And I'll be there. It's a community group, it's a community group. Don't do lots of home plug for community group, but you got the grandkids in the front yard, you got the grandkids, and you're drinking the sweet tea, the sweet tea sitting in a rocking chair.
Okay, I'm tired. A good answer, Brandy. I'm retiring at 68. Is that just a blanket statement? 68, Dakota. Okay, I'm walking out the door on my 68th. That's not a bad answer. I'm here for it. But if there's 25 hours in a day, I don't know if this is a combo. So, if you're 68 with 25 hours, yeah, 25 right now, how do you spend that extra hour? I think I know this one. The calories count, you get an extra hour of extra calories.
I'm busy trying to get more cookies and sundaes in her day either. I would eat a lot because you know your girl loves some food, chunky donkey. But probably just take a good old nap. Okay, I was thinking sweet too sweet. I was thinking, but like it's also summertime right now, so like maybe extra sunshine, cool, take a nap outside, more pool time, really nice, more lake time.
Can we praise God, we don't wear sunscreen for the weather for the weather today? I know it's such a beautiful day and it's gonna storm, but I haven't seen loads of storms during the day lately. No, and so it's been the best holiday weekend so far. His name, it's not going to rain for all you mean.
What happened before right now? America, church family, community. How did we go from a next shower day to church family community? Fourth of July is a holiday that many of us love. Personally, I can't wait for all the grilling, that's why your name's Holly Holidays. Mason said I already do one, and if you know me, you can decide, but I do need to actually work on it. If I have to be an hour early, that means I have to wake up an hour earlier too, want none of that.
Miracle, sorry this is church, you mean Miracle? So I don't know how that would look forward. Do you think you're a little late over two things? It's usually on time, which is late, and I really have to run.
Lizzy and I are vowing now to be an hour early to work everywhere tomorrow because we'll be there, absolutely, absolutely. Today at all three of our campuses, we have some young leaders speaking. They have participated in Leadership U, a two-year, four-semester program. We meet on Tuesday evenings, and it's for adult learners that want to grow personally, spiritually, and professionally. We have classes like Old and New Testament surveys, Ministry Leadership, and we have some awesome teachers.
We can check out Leadership U at Preview Night on Tuesday, July 11th at 6 p.m. at the Coleman camp. You can register through the Desperation Church app or under the Leadership U page. We know you're good, come on desperation, praise you God, thank you Jesus, whatever voice across this room this morning.
We can declare this next part in faith this morning, never give up, your grace is always enough, never before me, downstairs, and my future is always enough. Saved, you call me yours, you set my future as I see how good it works. We want to hang out with your kids, we want to love on them, and we want to give them Jesus, and we're so glad we got to hang out with you. Love you guys so much, and we hope you have fun worshiping with us. Have the best day ever, love you guys, see you soon.
Today's the last day to register, yeah, yeah, so you got me today, you have to sign up today right now, desperationstudents.com, real simple, it's gonna be a lot of fun. You don't sign up, you can't come, that's what they say. Don't sign up, you can't come, that's what they say, and you can do that online or on the app.
One more quick thing, quick thing for the kids, 15 seconds, two opportunities for Summer Jam at our Corbin campus and our Jasper campus. Those start on July 17th in Coleman, and then Jasper, Jasper, that's funny that I said Coleman, that's not true, but in Jasper, you can go to Summer Jam on July 17th, July 24th. Gosh, it's gonna be something on our website to register that way, it's free, but we just want to know how many kids to prepare for, so that's all we have.
Age, yeah, that way we know how many people are coming so we can feed you. Yeah, and I think that it's for everyone, no matter the age. Um, any adult that wants to grow and commune, honestly, just the people I loved being around, everyone that did it, yeah, it was a blast. It's for ministry, workplace ministry, for your family, such a variety, all the things you can be there, you can be there, and somewhere else you can be.
If you are a kid, say Xbox, Six Flags this Thursday, desperation students, we're gonna go to Six Flags together, and it's always the best time ever, it is the best time ever.
Desperation, should we sing this next part in faith this morning? Another storm king this morning, Hallelujah. Thank you, I'm still a little louder, sing a little louder in the presence of my enemies. Hallelujah, hope will arise, Hallelujah, he's the king of kings.
I just wanna speak the name of Jesus over every heart and every mind, cause I know there is peace with. Foreign, Norway is the only way, it's a narrow road, set it up, I've seen how good it was, your word the chaos, but I know I'll take you away. Good, I believe, well we can declare this next part in faith this morning, never give up, your grace is always enough, never before me, downstairs, and my future is always enough. Saved, you call me yours, you set my future as I see how good it works.
We know you're good, come on desperation, praise you God, thank you Jesus, whatever voice across this room this morning. I didn't believe my weapon is a melody, a reason, Hallelujah, hope will arise, Hallelujah, he's the king of kings.
Louder and louder, there's a Hallelujah, he's the king of kings.
I just wanna speak the name of Jesus over every heart and every mind, cause I know there is peace with. Battles of depression and anxiety, but through the love of the staff and the community of Leadership U, I was able to find healing and restoration, and I was able to find a new identity in Christ. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of Leadership U, and I am so excited to see what God is going to do through the next generation of leaders.
Welcome to Desperation Church! My name is Anna, and I get to serve on staff here. If you're visiting with us today, we just want to say welcome home! We want you to know that one thing that we're really passionate about here at our church is equipping and growing leaders that can create lasting impact. The way that we do this is through our Leadership U program. Leadership U is two years, four semesters of biblical training and hands-on ministry training.
I got to go through this program back in 2019 straight out of high school. I was so scared of ministry, even praying for people, it all intimidated me. But through this program, I really learned Bible training in our classes, but more importantly, I got to learn leadership, communication, and even problem-solving skills outside of the classroom. What our program did was really challenge me to grow, to take risks, and just to learn more about how to walk confidently in my calling.
I have learned a lot of things. I have learned why there are athletic analogies in the New Testament, I have learned how to better understand the Old Testament by learning the culture of the Israelites, and I've learned that God has always been in relationship, never alone, and yet he still chose to create us for relationship with him. All of these things are measurably great, but the most important aspect of Leadership U has been the immeasurable work the Holy Spirit has done in me through my experience here.
Going to Leadership U, I was a shell of myself, still in survival mode from the loss of my first daughter and the ongoing battles of depression and anxiety. But through the love of the staff and the community of Leadership U, I was able to find healing and restoration, and I was able to find a new identity in Christ.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of Leadership U, and I am so excited to see what God is going to do through the next generation of leaders. In your presence, I speak Jesus. Dark addiction starts Jesus, cause your name is healing. Oh, I just wanna seek the name of Jesus. And your name is shine through the shadows.
But like show Jesus from the mountains, Jesus in the streams, Jesus in the darkness over every enemy, Jesus for my family, make the holy holy Jesus over every situation this morning. The enemy of me Jesus, your name is he can be strong. My name is healing, is here, fly up, break every stronghold, shine through the shadows.
Come on, can we give Jesus all the praise this morning? I was shy and afraid to be myself spiritually. I was afraid to pray out loud over people, especially over their healing, because clearly, I was defective in this area. The enemy had me knocked down and my face in the dirt. I could go on and on about all that the enemy has done to me, but I want to put focus for focus should be, which is on all the good that the Lord has done through me and to me.
Through my experience here at Leadership U, I have learned that I am not just a mom. I am a mom, and my job is equally as important. My worth and my ministry don't stop at being a mom. Also, it's not contained within the four walls of this church. It is much bigger than that. Over these last four semesters, I have come out of my shell and began to be the person, more myself, or better said, be the person that God has called me to be.
I have learned that I am the group weirdo because I can create space for even the most unlikely people because Jesus creates space for me. People can be comfortable around me because Jesus is my comfort. When I share authentically about my struggles with depression and grief, I let people know that they are not alone because Jesus never leaves me alone. When I pray for people, I am simply being a vessel. I don't heal people, Jesus does, so no matter what I say can hinder the mighty work the Lord can do.
In short, I'm a bridge connecting people to the most wonderful person in the universe. I am love, I am cherished, I am a child of God. Going to Leadership U is not just a learning experience, it's an opportunity to let the Holy Spirit move in your life.
This morning, I had the honor of speaking at Desperation Church's Coleman Campus. This is where it all started for me, and I'm so thankful for the people who have played such an important role in my life that has gotten me to this place. Pastor Andy and Leah Heiss, Jake and Courtney, and Linda and Travis have all been so influential. Pastor Travis is the one who first met me at a Riot at Night event, and I'm so grateful for that.
I wanted to let everyone know that we are having a preview night on July 11th at 6 o'clock. If you're interested in finding out more, this is the perfect opportunity. We will have three speakers and food, so please RSVP online or on the app so we know how much food to get.
I promise you that this night will not let you down. It will be awesome, and you'll love it. So come out and join us, and let's have some energy and give the speakers a big round of applause.
I had a little bit of interest in Leadership U, a program offered at Desperation College. That's all it took for me to be pulled in. I was supposed to move to Birmingham, but he told me no, I was staying here. And here I am. Leadership U really was it for me. It was the best summer of my life in 2018, and it jump-started me into full-time ministry. It brought out so much leadership in me that I didn't even know I had. I never thought I would be called to ministry or even be standing on a stage and speak to anyone. So if you're thinking about Leadership U, I promise you should do it. I used to tell strangers on the street they need to do it, and it worked.
When I got asked to speak, I knew immediately what I was supposed to speak about - my pain. I have really bad chronic pain in my body every single day. It starts in my neck and goes down my back, sometimes going into my arms, fingers, and legs. It feels like burning in my stomach so bad. This has been going on for about 10 years, and it's just been consistent every single day. When the Lord told me I was going to speak about my pain, I told him absolutely not. I thought that the day I spoke about my pain, I would be on the other side of it, not standing in the middle of it.
But after Pastor Mason spoke at crew camp, I realized it was important to talk about the things you're in the middle of and not on the other side of. So I said okay, I'm going to speak about my pain. It's been an ongoing battle, but I want to tell you about what the Lord is teaching me through my pain. A lot of times I miss out on a lot of life because of the pain. I can't do a lot of things I love, like running or playing games at crew camp. Even worshiping, which is my favorite thing to do, hurts sometimes.
So I want to tell you that if you feel like your pain secludes you, you're not alone. This message is for you, even if it's not just physical. It's become really easy for me to let my pain define me. A lot of days I wake up, and the first thing I'm thinking is how much pain am I going to be in today. I never wake up and think how is the Lord going to use me today.
So I'm learning to take my pain day by day and not let it define me, but switch my focus on what Jesus wants to teach me through my pain that day. About three years ago, I was in full-time ministry, and I was having to drive to work every day. The drive was really hard, and my pain was at its all-time high. The devil told me if I just give up ministry, he would take all of my pain away. For someone that's been going through chronic pain for 10 years, that sounded really tempting.
But I'm learning that you don't go through a day of pain without Jesus wanting you to lean in closer to him. I was struggling for three days with the thought of giving up ministry because I thought it would take away my pain. The Lord intervened and told me that was a lie. If you're going through any type of pain and the enemy is telling you to give up, don't believe it. You're supposed to push through and continue on, even if you're in pain. It's okay to not be okay. God doesn't expect us to be perfectly okay in our pain. He wants us to come to Him in our raw and brokenness, and He will comfort us.
At crew camp, I was in a lot of pain. Pastor Mason said the leaders would come up front and pray for me. I didn't want to pray for anyone else, but I decided to do it anyway. When I went up there, four or five girls came up to me, and each one of them needed prayer for healing in their bodies and minds. I realized that I needed to switch my mindset to focus on serving others, and I was able to relate to the girls.
I was recently reminded of the power of words. I was in a lot of pain, and my friend Laura asked me how I was doing. All of my worries and fears came out, and I was speaking death over myself. She looked at me and said, "Stop. Those are the words that you are living in right now. Here are the things that you are going to speak about yourself." It was a simple reminder, but it made me realize that if I wake up every day and think positively, I can make a difference in my life.
God is so sweet and kind to send people like Laura into my life. It's important to serve others in the midst of our pain because it can bring healing. Even when we don't feel like it, serving others can bring healing. The words we speak become the house we live in, so it's important to speak life over ourselves.
I've learned that we are never fulfilled until we give our lives away. So, even in the midst of pain, I'm walking through this with you, and I'm praying for you. Our words are so powerful. They have the power of life and death, and those who love its fruit will eat it. We were not meant to speak death over ourselves, so it is important to have people in your corner that will speak life over you and encourage you to do so as well.
Proverbs 18:21 says, "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love its fruit will eat it." Our words have so much power over our mind, body, and spirit. Speak life to feel life and speak death to feel death.
You are not alone. Whether you are in physical pain, mental pain, or any type of pain, you have people sitting at the table with you. I'm one of those people, and I'll pull up a chair, and you can stay right next to me. We'll walk through this together. You are not a burden. I know there are days that you feel like it, because I know there are days that I feel like it too. But you are not a burden to people. You are a blessing, and people are honored to have you in their lives.
If anyone has ever told you that you or your pain are too much to handle, I'm so sorry, and that is not true. Don't let those words define you. You have a story, and you have a voice, and you have a really good God who will use you to bring light and healing to so many people, including you. You may feel like you've prayed and prayed for healing and you will never receive it, and I understand. But do not give up. God did not allow this for you to give up, but to submit what he wants us to learn from it.
I've seen healing take place right in front of my eyes, and it's just as much for us as it is for everybody else. I got off stage after the 8 A.M. service and didn't throw up, which was great. But I had one of my old co-workers come up to me, and she said, "Taylor, I would have no idea that you were in chronic pain every day." And you wouldn't believe the amount of people that come up and say that to me. But I just think it's such a testament of how good God is, because I can feel so much joy even in so much pain.
God is kind, and we can feel so much joy even if we're feeling so much pain. So just know that you are not alone. You can experience joy.
In my life, I have struggled with community so much. It's such a part of my testimony. To be in a place now where I'm getting to serve in that capacity and help develop community and be a part of that is so amazing. I want to talk a little bit about that today. My name is Matt Phillips, and I have the privilege to serve as the Coleman Groups Coordinator with my beautiful wife, Alicia. We just celebrated my three-year-old and one-year-old's birthday yesterday, and most people there are part of this church. It's just awesome that we have such an amazing family.
I want to pose this question: Has your kingdom ended? I originally taught this message as a failure to freedom. I grew up around church, but I didn't grow up in it. I didn't grow up going to VBS or church camp. I had no idea what any of that was about.
In the middle of your pain, you have a seat at the table. You can sit right next to me, and we can walk through this together. I'm going to pray a blessing over you guys, and then Matt is going to come out.
Jesus, we are just so thankful for today. God, we're just thankful for your presence. Father, I just ask for the spirit of healing over this building today. God, that people are able to walk out of here feeling different, feeling lighter. God, that you have picked them up, and you have put them back together. God, even if people walk out of here and they don't feel physically healed, God, that they have some sort of hope that they are not alone, that they've got people to walk through this with them, and they've got a table to sit at, and you are sitting right at the head of it.
Father, we love you so much. We pray this along your name, amen.
Come on, come on, come on. Thank you so much, Taylor. We give her a round of applause and just really celebrate what God's doing in Taylor's life. That is awesome. I want to thank Pastor Andy for giving me this opportunity and Leadership U. Like how it's developed me. I've been through a year of Leadership U. Pastor Jake, Pastor Gary, Pastor Nelson, just so many people pouring into us and just all the people that run it and how much I've been able to develop and learn from it. It's been amazing. I would highly recommend it and just opportunities like this being able to step into something like this. So really thankful for that.
It was enough to know the language to identify as a Christian, but I didn't know Jesus, and I didn't have that relationship until I was 22. I was about to graduate college, and then I had this encounter and surrendered my life, and my life was transformed. I went into a season of transformation, encountering Jesus and falling in love with Him. I was amazed that I hadn't heard this before, and I was being set free and having revelations. I was so excited, and I thought I was ready to change the world with Jesus.
This put me in a place of pride, and I started to do things apart from God. I was exhausted, burnt out, and had lost the joy and peace I once had. This was a wake-up moment, and I realized I was doing things apart from my life source. I was in a dark place of shame and guilt and felt like a complete failure. I didn't have community to turn to, and I didn't know what to do. I felt like I had failed worse after knowing Christ than before knowing Him.
I was reading First Samuel 13, and it gave me a new perspective. Saul had become king, and the Israelites wanted a king. Samuel, the prophet, was trying to tell the people of Israel that they didn't need a king, but they insisted on having one. So, God let them have one, and Saul was chosen to be the king. He was strong, handsome, and a warrior, and everyone had high hopes for him. However, Saul failed to keep the command of the Lord, and God sought out a man after His own heart, David, to be the leader of His people.
Samuel exclaimed, "How foolish! Had you kept the Lord's command, the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever, but now your kingdom must end."
At first, this passage can be seen as a reminder of failure and missed opportunities. It can be easy to compare ourselves to David and feel like God doesn't want to use us anymore. However, the Holy Spirit shifted this perspective and reminded us that it is not David's kingdom that will last forever, but Jesus's Kingdom. Saul's failure is not the end, but a reminder that Jesus's Kingdom is the one that will last forever.
Kingdom that we've been trying to build that's not yours, that you would just give us the courage and the strength to be able to let go of that and to be able to be welcomed into your kingdom and to be able to be established and to be able to rule and reign with you and to be heirs with you into everything that you have to offer. So we just thank you for that, and we pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.
Saul had not failed if his kingdom had not ended. Jesus' Kingdom could not have entered in and lasted forever. It was this shift of this failure that seemed so bad, but God used it for good. Jesus said that we must lose our life to gain it, and that we must die to be born again. Saul's kingdom was never meant to last forever, and it was a powerful moment of taking that failure and making it a good thing.
Saul was holding on to and trying to build his own kingdom instead of God's. Jesus' Kingdom is made up of love, peace, joy, hope, and faith. It is filled with selflessness, generosity, and service. Saul's kingdom was filled with shame, insecurity, pride, lust, greed, and envy. In order for us to be welcomed into Jesus' Kingdom, we must be ready to let go of our own. We cannot fight for and further two kingdoms at the same time. Jesus is calling us to let go of our kingdom and be welcomed into His, where we can be developed into leaders and rule and reign with Him as heirs to everything He has to offer.
I'm so honored to be here today. Before I get started, I want to make sure that we just honor Matt and Taylor. Can y'all give it up for them one more time? Awesome! Thank you. It's incredible that we get to come up here, all together. It's a blessing. I also want to shout out Pastor Gary and Pastor Nelson from the college and Pastor Jake. Y'all would not believe they just have they pour into us so much from the moment you walk in. They start pouring in, and they've all had a hand in pastoring me individually. So I'm just so grateful for them and for Pastor Andy. His yes has made all this possible. It's the reason we all get together here, do life together. It's an incredible blessing. It all started when Pastor Andy agreed to plant in this church and making it all happen.
Hey, I want to tell you all a little more about who I am and what I do. My name is Simon, and I serve with our middle schoolers here, which is wild. It's so much fun. I asked if I could bring some candy up here and throw it out in the crowd, and they were like no, you better not do that, you're gonna peg somebody, and they're not gonna come back. So yeah, but it is. It's so much fun serving with our middle schoolers. It's a blast.
But I have a message for you guys today, and I'm excited. I really believe the Lord, He gave me this message, He laid it on my heart, and it is coming out of John 13:10. Jesus answered, and He said, "Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean, and you are clean." He said, "But not all of you," for He knew that one was going to betray Him. And that's why He said, "Not all of you were clean." When He had finished washing their feet, He put His clothes on.
I want to tell you all this. Let me take a second. Like when I first walked into this church, I was. I sat right there. It was about four years ago. I came, and I sat down right there. I had come with The Foundry, so I don't know if y'all know what that is. That's a drug and recovery ministry, it's based out of Coleman. But yeah, I came on a van with them. If you would have given me a glimpse then of what the Lord would do with me here at this church, I would not have believed you. Like the ways He planned on using me, sitting right there four years ago. Gosh, just like I didn't know where I was. I didn't know. I felt out of place. You know, I was like, oh man, if they knew who I really was. But the truth is, you belong here. You're accepted here. You have a family here. Seriously, if you don't know where to find it or who it is, plug into a community group, come to a serve day, meet your people here.
Jesus demonstrated the greatest acts of humility, grace, and servanthood when He washed His disciples' feet. He said, "Go and do that for one another. I have set for you an example that you should do as I have done for you." He reminded them that no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Jesus was teaching us that it is one thing to be a believer, but it is another thing to be a follower of Christ. We are saved by grace through faith, but it can be hard to give the grace that we are called to. Jesus knew that Judas was going to betray Him, yet He still washed his feet. This is amazing! Jesus had grace in position before the betrayal even happened. This is supernatural grace. We should ask the Lord to take His divine flashlight and go down to the depths of our hearts to show us how to show the same grace that Jesus showed.
Have you ever been betrayed before? It can hurt. We have to show grace. The next attribute I want to talk about for a second is humility. Everybody say humility. That was cool. I like that, that's fun. We have got to walk in humility. One thing I've learned as I said, guys breaking me all this is that when you walk in humility, you can be transparent. You can become transparent through what God's doing in you. The more humble you are, the more He gets the glory, and He's the only one that can sustain it. We've got to walk in that type of humility. Matthew 23 verses 12 said those who exalt themselves, they'll be humbled, but those who humble themselves will be exalted. He must increase, and we must decrease, and why? Because again, He's the only one that has the power to save.
I'm gonna jump right into this third attribute of servanthood. Servanthood is beautiful. Servanthood builds bridges. Servanthood can build a bridge strong enough to get the gospel across. We all know lost people, and when you show grace, when you walk in humility, and when you serve people, they're like why are you doing this? Then you can easily just point them to Jesus. It's not me, it's what He's done for us, so I'm trying to live it out. That's what He's calling us to do.
It's awesome because talking about servanthood is something we do so well at our church. I can't tell you how many times we've gone out on a certain project, and we've watched somebody's car, or we've fed them lunch, and literally they'll come to church, bring their family, and every single one of them will give their life to Jesus, and they'll walk in abundant life. It's amazing.
In closing, I just want to talk about how awesome it is that they opened this avenue of leadership. If you've ever considered going through this program, it is life-changing. When I was sitting there, if you'd ever told me I'd complete a two-year discipleship program, I wouldn't have believed it. But it's so incredible what you walk away with when you give your life away. That's what Pastor Andy says, we're hardwired to only be satisfied when we give our lives away, and I believe that's so true.
It is incredible what the Lord will do in your life and your family's lives when you devote the next couple of years to learning more and growing in Him. Serving with the middle schoolers, I would not have believed the accomplishment, and God honors it when you go and say, "Hey, I want to know more, I want to learn more, and I just want to be everything you've called me to be." There are people that you can reach that I cannot, that other people in here cannot, that the Lord is calling you to reach. This is all just to reach the lost.
If you are here today and you don't have a relationship with Jesus and would like to, it would be an honor to introduce you to Him. I'm not going to embarrass you, I'm not going to call you out, I'm not going to point you out, I'm not going to ask you to come to the front. All I want you to do is put your hand up and put it right back down just so I know I have somebody here.
The Bible says to confess Jesus with your mouth and believe in your heart, and you will be saved. The greatest way to start a relationship with anybody is through conversation. So why don't we talk to Him right now? You can have your own conversation, or you can repeat after me. It's not a conversation that saves you, it's the person of the conversation you're going to lift.
All those people that got baptized last week, they were just like you. They were just like you. They were just like you. They were just like you. They were just like you. They were just like you. They were just like you. They were just like you. They were just like you. They were just like you. They were just like you. They were just like you. They were just like you. They were just like you.
Jesus is listening and loves you. Confess Him as Lord, turn from your sin, and believe that He died on the cross 2000 years ago, shedding His blood to pay the penalty of your sin and taking the wrath of God that you deserve. Believe that He was buried, but rose from the grave and is alive today. Thank Him for saving and changing you. Celebrate with Desperation Church!
Your next step is to grow with Christ. There is a gift box with a bobble, book, letter, and candy. After the service, go to the desk to the right of the glass door and say you want the gift box. They will give you the box and tell you about baptism, give you a t-shirt, and tell you the next time baptism will be held. Many people were baptized last week, and they were just like you. Take the next step and grow with Christ.
Hey listen, if you're here, maybe one of the speakers spoke to you today, maybe you just got something going on in your life, and you just need some prayer. Hey, if that's you and you would just say, "Andy, would you pray for me?" If that's you, just throw your hands up, it'd be an honor to pray for you.
Father, I love you, Lord. Thank you for the people in this room. God, they all mean so much to you. God, you're madly in love with them. God, teach us how to pursue you, teach us how to know you. God, I pray for those that might have chronic pain in their life, mentally, physically. God, in Jesus' name, I pray you'd meet them where they are, and God, I pray you'll love them.
God, let them know that they can pull themselves up to a table that's got other people around that they are going through the exact same thing. Lord, I pray for people in this room that, Father, that they don't give up, that God, they learn to die to themselves and to build your kingdom. And Lord, I pray that God, you would teach us how to walk in humility and servanthood and how to give our lives away. God, do incredible things in the lives of the people in this room. Lord, we honor you, we praise you, and we glorify you, Jesus, in your name. And everybody said, Amen. Let's give the Lord a hand today, come on, come on.
If you need prayer for anything, we got prayer warriors on both sides. If you need prayer, they are here for you. They're safe people, they'd love to pray for you if you need prayer.
Hey, also, if you want to tithe to Desperation Church, there's a tithe envelope in the back of the chair, or there are some on both sides over here in the boxes next to the box. How you fill that tithe envelope out, put your check or cash in it, and drop it off in the boxes as you leave.
