Rising Up: Answering God's Call for Revival

by Insights on God's Word
on Nov 05, 2023

Hi Emlyn, your chatbot for this sermon is being created and we'll email you at edhartze@gmail.com when it's ready

Thank you. Good day, everyone. This is Insights on God's Works, and there's another time again.

But before I start today, I would love to pour out my mind on the encounter I had today. I was inspired to save a message, but I didn't know what to say, and that's how it's always been. So, I took my Bible, and I still didn't know what to see. I took my rainbow and said, "Holy Spirit, take over. I don't know what you want to pass across, but I trust you, as you have always been doing with all my messages. They are always purely inspired."

So, I was directed to Psalms chapter 97. I know I mentioned Psalms chapter 94 in my introduction; that was a mistake. I'm reading from Psalms chapter 94, verse 16: "Who will rise up for me against the evil doers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?"

When I first read this, I didn't understand why those verses were asking me to read. I went back to it from the beginning and discovered that God Himself is talking in this Bible verse. When I got to verse 16 again, I read it, and it said, "Who will rise up for me?" The "you guys" is in the plural; it is a personification. He is asking directly, "Who will rise up for me against the evil doers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?"

It's very certain that God is a spirit. The Bible says God is a spirit, and we must worship Him in spirit and in truth. When we know that our Father is a spirit, how do we deal with this? Surely, there must be someone and a neighbor for Him to use. Now, He is asking us the question: "Who will rise up for me?"

It's very touching that God is asking that question. Many of us only know how to complain. We complain about the economy, complain about the way politics run in the country, complain about church doctrines, and complain about different things going on in various sections. But we are not ready to make the corrections. All we know how to do is complain to make our points.

But God here is asking, "Who will rise up for me against the evil?" Against all these things you are complaining about, who is ready to do the work? Who is ready to say, "Lord, I'm available. Use me?" None of you have searched, and you found no room. The world today has turned into something else; no one is basically available for His cause. No one is saying, "God, use me for this purpose."

And He said unto him, "What shall I do that I may know that thou art with me and that I may believe thee and that I may understand that the Lord has sent me?" The angel of the Lord said unto him, "Take the untouchable with the one press and offer it up for a burnt offering."

And it came to pass the same night that the Lord said unto him, "Take the untouchable with the one press and offer it up for a burnt offering on the altar of the Lord."

According to Psalms 121, it says, "I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord." Will the Lord come down like the way we are watching the global movies, when He jumps down from heaven and saves us? Is He going to use someone? But who will rise up? Who is ready for God to use? Who is ready to say, "I'm available and useful?"

Let's see one question for us today: God bless. Who is ready to rise up to be used by God?

Don't let us forget that God is no respecter of persons in the sense that He cherishes your opinion and in the sense that He won't force you; He will only suggest. Everybody who was used in the Bible made a personal decision to follow Christ.

Let's consider examples of people who were used in the Bible. We'll be starting with Moses very quickly. Let's consider Exodus chapter 3, verses 1-4.

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the back of the desert and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. The angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

Moses said, "I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt." When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses." He said, "Here am I."

This is proof that there is a personal decision on the part of the person who is ready to be used. Thank God Moses was available. How many of you are ready to say that statement here, "Here am I?" How many of you are ready to answer the call of God upon your life? How many of you are ready to be used for God's purpose?

Moses answered the call, "Here am I." That doesn't mean, "Yeah, I am, use me." How many of us are ready to be used by God? That is why everything called the session, we cry for a solution, but no one is ready to be used. How will the solution come?

And God is saying in that Psalm that we started with, "Who will rise up for me?" Who will rise up in His power and do exploits? Who will rise up? They are expecting us to come down in His glory to fight for us, and we have to be used.

Let's consider another example. Let's consider Gideon in the book of Judges, chapter 6, verse 11.

There came an angel of the Lord and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite. His son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress to hide it from the Midianites. The angel of the Lord appeared unto him and said unto him, "The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour."

He said unto him, "What shall I do that I may know that thou art with me and that I may believe thee? And that I may understand that the Lord has sent me?" The angel of the Lord said unto him, "Take the untouchable with the one press and offer it up for a burnt offering."

And it came to pass the same night that the Lord said unto him, "Take the untouchable with the one press and offer it up for a burnt offering on the altar of the Lord."

In the book of Numbers, chapter 27, verse 18, we read the story of Joshua. The Lord said to Moses, "Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand upon him and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation, and give him a charge in their sight."

Moses appointed Joshua based on the direction of God, and God was satisfied that the Spirit was in him. He told him to set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation because he had an assignment to do for Christ. Moses instructed Joshua, but Joshua accepted the instruction of God.

In this story, we can see that God was not interested in the questions Gideon was asking. He was saying, "Go in this your might, and you shall save Israel from the hands of the Midianites." He was telling him to go in his might and take a step, as He had sent him.

He was saying that no one was ready to go and make the sacrifices that their forefathers had made, so the miracles they experienced were not happening. He was asking who was ready to rise up against the evil and make the same sacrifices as their forefathers.

God was telling Gideon to stop asking questions and go in his might. He was saying that the answers would not come if no one was willing to pay the sacrifices. He was saying that people needed to go into the bush, stand with God for hours, pray, invite Him, and make great exploits. He was asking who was ready to do that today.

God was telling Gideon to take a step and not to ask questions. He was saying that the miracles of before would not come unless people were willing to make the same sacrifices as their forefathers. He was asking who was ready to rise up against the evil and make the same sacrifices as their forefathers.

Might he as well decide that, "No, I'm not doing it. No, I'm not going. No, I'm not standing." Look at the age difference between Moses and Joshua. Is there no other people God can use? Yet He selected Joshua. Fine, but Joshua accepted the purpose of God for his life.

Now, why are you here? To accept the purpose of God for your life. Who is then ready? Who's ready to rise up and accomplish the plans of God for us? Who will God send? He has been searching, and He is asking, "Who will rise up for me? Who is going to represent me on this Earth?"

Call this experience. No one is ready, but someone must be ready, or else we will continue to remain in our complaints. Are you ready? Am I ready?

Let's check what God has again for us. Answering the question that I asked the Holy Spirit, you said God is looking for those who will rise up to do His purpose. What about numerous people doing your work now? Are they not doing your work? Are they the ones that called them, the famous ministers, pastors, prophets that we are young evangelists? Why do you need more people?

Okay, and you always really love me, so Ezekiel chapter 34 explains a lot of things that are wrong and why you need to grow new sets of people, why you need to develop new sets of people to rise up and fight against the evil doers.

The word of the Lord came unto me saying, "Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy and say unto them, 'Thus says the Lord God unto these shepherds: Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do not feed themselves. Should not the shepherd feed the flocks? You eat the fats and clothe yourselves with the wool. You kill them that are fed, but you feed not the flock.'"

The conditions of those who think they have been called to do the purpose are that all they do is get fat. They fatten their pockets; they get fat, but they do not feed the flocks. They act as if they are God, so they are the shepherds. They are meant to take care of us, the sheep. What do they do? They feed on us.

We tend to pray against them. They fill their pockets with our little pennies and forget the divine assignments of God. That is why God is saying, "Woe unto them." Because the shepherds of today do not feed their flocks. No, they send them out into the lion's den to be eaten by the wolves.

And now, that is why there is a need for God to raise those generations that will carry out His purpose. The ministers of today, the pastors, and everyone have forgotten their purpose along the way. The sheep have suffered in their hands. There is no spiritual good, nothing to help them. They even prey on us, and without prayer, they use their spiritual intelligence against us, and now we suffer at their hands.

Now there is a need for God to raise up new people. Are you ready to be used? This is a great message. We are charging that the more we target, the more solutions there are. The more everyone of us says, "No, I'm not going to be useful," the more difficult our solution gets.

Now look at those ministers, the little ones still holding on to the faith. Look at them. When it was Moses' time to go, he handed over to Joshua. Looking at the world today, where are the people they want to hand over to? The work of God has now turned into work that you need your physical qualifications before you can be acquainted with the work.

I've gone out into the work that you need your physical certificates, which do not even guarantee your salvation, before you can be employed as a pastor or minister. Someone who is not educated, we believe God does not call you; he has not been called by God. We have missed it in so many ways.

The churches of today are now obeying the laws of church doctrines. When another Christian who does not believe in your church doctrine comes up, you cast them as a sinner and say they are all going to hell. Then what is the purpose of Christ coming to the world? What did Christ come to save?

What did He come to redeem? If everyone is going to hell because I'm not putting on earrings and I see a fellow person wearing them, I say, "It's a sinner; we are going to hell." What is the purpose of Christ coming to the world?

Call this love, and that is where we are flat in this world. It's about love: God, I love your neighbor as yourself. When you love God, you'll be able to love your neighbor as yourself. God is not a follower of the law. Jesus Christ did not come so we can follow the law; He came to redeem us.

He came to establish love and gave us a command: "Love God." When you know the meaning of love, you will know that this Earth is very little; it is nothing to put on your head about because this world is a small world.

When we see anyone as a sinner, then who are you, the righteous one? We are deceiving ourselves. We may have been deceiving ourselves for a long time. The church, which is supposed to be a place of safety and protection, is now a place where the sheep cry. It's not a place where the sheep suffer.

So, who is ready to be used? Are you ready to be used? Are you really wanting to be used? I hope this message will startle you because I'm going to be ending with a question mark. Are you ready to be used? Am I ready to be used?

Let everyone turn back to God and stop following your church doctrines and pastor doctrines. Go back to God and answer His call before it is too late so that we can revive our nation, so that we can invite the church because we need a revival.

Please share this message with everyone around you. We need to be revived. We need to make ourselves available for His use. Make yourself available, and I will make myself available, and the world will be better.

Please, God bless you. Thank you.
