Commitment to the Gospel: Living Christ's Love
Summary
In my sermon, I emphasized the need for commitment and full dedication to sharing the gospel. I reminded the congregation that as believers, we are called by God and separated unto the gospel. We should not be ashamed of the gospel, but rather fully embrace it and be willing to give up worldly ambitions in order to know Christ and make an impact in our communities. I encouraged everyone to realize that our encounter with God was not a chance meeting, but a divine calling, and that we have a responsibility to share the love of Christ with others. I emphasized the importance of living out our faith and being a true representation of Christ's love to the world.
Key takeaways: - We are called by God and separated unto the gospel (Romans 1:1) - We should not be ashamed of the gospel, but fully embrace it (Romans 1:16) - Our encounter with God was not a chance meeting, but a divine calling - We have a responsibility to share the love of Christ and make an impact in our communities - We should live out our faith and be a true representation of Christ's love to the world.

As Believers, we need to be committed to doing God's will. This is crucial in the times we are living in. We are called to fulfill the Great Commission, to go out and share the love of Christ with those we come into contact with daily. Our brother Tony does this all the time and is very vocal about his commitment to serving Christ. Making disciples means we need to be committed to spending time with people and showing them how it's done.
Christ was fully committed to doing God's word. We see this in Romans chapter 1, where Paul identifies himself as a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle separated unto the gospel of God. The disciples didn't fully understand the teaching at first, but when the Holy Spirit filled them, they realized what their master was trying to teach them. Christ poured out his life during the three years he spent with them, and they realized that God expects his Believers to be fully committed to Him as well.
The Apostle Paul believed that he was a born servant of the Lord and was fully committed to doing what God had called him to do. We read this in the book of Philippians. Paul was a servant of Christ and was a Pharisee, well-learned in the Jewish law. He was even fighting against the message of Jesus Christ by all means until God intervened on the road to Damascus. In Deuteronomy chapter 15, it says that when a worker or slave was fully committed, their masters were compelled to provide for them. To be a servant of God, you need to be fully committed to what the master has called you to do. Paul was called by God himself to preach his name before the Gentiles and kings and children of Israel. It wasn't just a chance meeting; God called him. When God calls you to be his child, it is a great thing. Paul was separated unto the gospel of God, the good news that the death of Christ presented full payment for the penalty of sin and that anyone who trusts in that living Christ is forgiven and has entered into the family of God.
I remember I grew up in a church and I thought I was a believer until I had this message in the bus by This Man Called Elvis. He preached the gospel and it made me understand that I had to accept Jesus as my savior. God has called us to be his servants and to do his will. What a privilege it is for us to be his servants, called of God himself. Believers and called Saints, grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul was fully committed to preaching the gospel to the Gentiles and to everyone else he came into contact with. In Titus chapter 2, we read of the hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before the world began. This was no afterthought; God planned this wonderful salvation for you and I before the foundation of the world. In Ephesians chapter 1, verses 1 to 4, we read that God thought about us and provided salvation for us. This salvation was through the Son of God, as declared by the Holy Spirit who raised him from the dead. This mighty proof of his deity was the fulfillment of what God had promised through his son Jesus Christ. Because of this, we can celebrate and have salvation, and life more abundantly and eternally. The Roman Believers were also reminded of their commitment to this gospel in verse 6. Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with them.
The Apostle Paul was committed to taking care of the Believers in Rome. He reminded them that they too are called of God, called to be Saints, set apart to do God's holy work. He was humble when he came to them, not wanting to throw around what he knew from God's word. He prayed for them, for their growth, and wanted to impart some spiritual gift and have some fruit among them. He wanted to be comforted together with them by the mutual faith, both Greek and Barbarians, wise and unwise. Paul was committed to making sure that the Believers grew and were fully what God wanted them to be. He was ready to preach the gospel to them with all the strength he had. He used everything he had, even when he struggled with ill health.
Paul's commitment to the Believers is seen in verse 15, where he says, "As much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you." The Apostle Paul was fully committed to preach the gospel of Christ with everything he had. He was willing to give up all that he had learned, even his prominent position as a Pharisee, for the excellency of knowing Christ. He was not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. As it is written, the just shall live by faith.
We need to realize that God has called us to share this wonderful gospel and make an impact in our communities that are struggling with so many things, whether it be drugs, alcoholism, etc. We are called to fulfill what God has called us to do, and the only way that we can make an impact is if we commit our lives to it. We need to tell as many people and lead as many people to the saving knowledge of Christ and to make them disciples so that they can replicate it as well. Spending time with people, committing our lives to being with them, showing them right from wrong.
The accusation that is thrown at the church all the time is that we are not living up to what we are preaching. Today is the time for the church to rise up and for us to realize that the world doesn't know this good news unless we show them through the lives that we live. We need to demonstrate that Christ is for real and that the word of God is always being challenged all over in the mainstream media, internet, etc. So many people are empty without this word of God.
We are not living in the same world as the Apostle Paul, but we can still make a difference if we show people that we are committed to what we say we will do. God has called us for a reason, and it is our duty to serve Him. How are we going to represent Him in the years to come? We don't know how many more years we have, but if we look at what is happening in our world, we can see that we are close to Christ's return. How will He find us when He comes? Will He find us faithful, or will He find us absorbed by the things of this world?
It is so easy to get caught up in the internet, which is full of nonsense. People spend so much time on it, but what about the Word of God? It guides us, and we need to be committed to it in order to know the mind of God. The only way to do this is to study the Word of God. This is the only way that we can make an impact and share the truth with love.
We all have our struggles and have made mistakes, but that should not hold us back. We are privileged to be children of God, and there are so many people who do not know the truth. The Bible tells us that the Word of God is true, and we need to be absorbing it instead of the nonsense of the internet. We need to get into the Word of God and be committed to the things of the Lord.
This is our encouragement to share the love of Christ with those we come into contact with daily. It may seem difficult, but people are hungry to hear the truth and are looking for a way out. We can provide that way out by sharing the Word of God and our lives with them.
We are going to take our lives and commitment to lift people up. We will listen to God's word and become committed to the East Coast in Jesus' name. I pray.
