#BelieveTheGospel
“``I know most of you here, and I know most of your testimonies, but I don't know all of you, and I don't know all your hearts. Have you, like everyone else, realized that you too sin and fall short of the glory of god, that you were are guilty before him? Have you refused to love the truth yet? Have you yet believed that Jesus Christ did what you cannot do for yourself? He died a death that your sin deserves, but then he rose from the dead, demonstrating that God's wrath was satisfied and that all who will believe on Christ will be forgiven and have eternal life. That is the gospel. Believe in him if you have not.”

#ChooseContentment
“And so, my friends, by God's grace, let us say no to greed and being in love with money or worldly things. Let us be godly with contentment, with the necessities of life, and not chase after all the goods and earthly pleasures, trying to keep up with everyone else. By the way, it doesn't mean that you can't enjoy some non necessities in life. It doesn't mean that. But that you don't live for them. You don't covet them. You don't love money. You don't make it the focus of your life. You don't let that keep you from pursuing the will of God.”

#GodRestrainsEvil
“Well, thankfully, God helps us not only by his direction, but his spirit's enablement. But because of the next takeaway also, and that is God restrains evil. We saw that in the text. Just as the wicked woman of that vision was kept in the basket with a leaden cover, so too God keeps wickedness or the practice of evil in check. Right? God is not the author of sin. Though in creating angels and human beings, he gave them and us a will and thereby some measure of choice. Satan and the fallen angels choose chose to rebel against God, and they remain in that state of rebellion. There's no redemption for them. So they are evil and they do wicked things. Nevertheless, God restrains them to a degree.”

#MaterialismLingers
“And although they did end up setting aside the worship of those false gods as a result of all their discipline that the lord brought upon them, some of them still held on to or became even more caught up in materialism. And this is why some translate it their iniquity. It is another form of idolatry. So in other words, you may take the exile out of Babylon, but the materialistic influence of Babylon had stayed in many of the returning exiles.”

#WickednessRestricted
“Now in Zechariah's vision, she is still kind of small, and she's confined, illustrating that God had confined the spread of her wickedness at that time. This was further evidenced by the fact that seemingly the angel thrust her back into the basket and thrust down the leaden weight on its opening. So even though God will eventually put an end to all wickedness, it is operable and has been operable in the world ever since the fall, but he restricts wickedness in accordance with his will.”

#IniquityRemovedInChrist
“That is a sobering passage, isn't it? It tells us a lot. I'm not gonna, like, preach two sermons, Zechariah and this one. But the truth, though, to believe and to love that that passage talks about is that the Lord takes away our iniquity through Christ, our guilt, our sin. In Zachariah's vision, their iniquity in all the land was taken away. And that, ultimately, is what Jesus does for those who believe in him.”

#BabylonGoesGlobal
“So the basket of wickedness was leaving the land of Israel, and Zechariah asked, where is it going? And the answer signifies the importance not only for Israel, but for the whole world. The two women beings, whether they're angels, whether they're holy or unholy, were taking the basket with the wicked woman to the land of Shinar. Guess what? Guess where that is? That is where the Tower Of Babel was. That is where the city of Babylon is still. And this lines up with the prophecy of Revelation seventeen and eighteen. And by the time we reach the end of this age and during the seven year period referred to as the great tribulation and right before Christ returns and establishes his kingdom reign on the earth, the wicked system that the woman represents will be influencing the whole world in cooperation with the antichrist.”

#GreedWillBeJudged
“Now the longer term implications is that in association with other visions that Zechariah received, some of which we've seen, some of which we're yet to see, in other words from the Lord, he will bring about a complete destruction of the wicked systems in this world that are based on greed and the many associated evils related to it. And that's good news for the righteous. Amen?”
