#NoFauxFaith
“``The property was theirs. The money was theirs. They could have given half and said, this is half, and we are we are keeping the rest. They would have been honest. That would have been acceptable, but they wanted something they were not willing to pay for. They wanted a reputation. They wanted the attention that Barnabas received without surrendering their heart to it. They wanted to look like him without being him, and so they lied.”

#HolySpiritIsPerson
“This person is the holy spirit. It's not a force, not a feeling that comes and goes. He thinks, he feels, and he chooses. Paul said he can be grieved. You cannot grieve a force. You cannot grieve electricity. You cannot grieve the wind. You can grieve someone who loves you, that watches over you, and walk with you in the even when you go in the wrong direction. He can be lied to. You cannot lie to a concept. You cannot lie to an influence. Lying requires a listener, a mind, a person on the other hand who receives what you say and knows whether it's true. He gives gifts, not randomly, not automatically. He decides. He chooses who gets what and when. Only a person chooses. Only a person can be wronged. Only a person can choose.”

#NoSecretsFromGod
“And here is what we need to understand. They did not walk. Ananias and Sapphira believed in Jesus. They loved God. They didn't walk in their room as enemies of God. They were part of the community. They were excited. They they knew the story about Jesus, about the resurrection. Maybe they were filled with the with the holy spirit. They have all this. They had been to all the meetings. They have they have heard they heard all the testimonies, and they saw what the holy spirit was doing. But they forgot one thing or chose to act as if they had forgotten that the holy spirit already knew. You cannot manage your presentation before a person who already knows what happened behind closed doors.”

#FreelyGivenNotForced
“Peter said to them, the property was yours to sell and not to sell as you wished. And after selling it, the money was yours to give to give away. Nobody forced you. Nobody demanded the full amount. Nobody was standing over them with an expect expectation they they they could meet. Nobody knew they sold it anyways on day when they showed up. The spirit of god never operates through coercion, never corners you, and never extract from you. What he offers, he gets freely. What invites, he invites without a force. Would you accept the invitation?”
