The Holy Ghost stands as the wind, and the believer stands as the leaf, the seed, the branch, and the tree. The wind blows where He wants to, and the life that yields to Him does not lose anything. Jesus in John 3 says the Spirit blows where He wills, and that means the child of God does not get to be the wind in his own life. The Holy Ghost knows where to lead, when to lead, and how to lead, and there is no sorrow connected to a life that yields to Him.

The call to follow God’s plan refuses self-direction. The believer does not tell God, “This is what I wanna do,” because God chooses the ground, the place, and the path. God’s goodness, mercy, provision, and protection manifest where the Holy Ghost is allowed to lead. The life that chooses another direction may still move, but it will not carry the same joy and peace that comes from following Him.
