Day 1: True worship begins with a revelation of Jesus
Worship comes alive when you truly encounter Jesus—when the reality of His saving grace and the miracle of your own salvation dawns deep within your heart. It is not simply singing songs or attending church, but a spiritual awakening where you realize you were lost and now are found, brought into communion with the Father through Christ. This revelation stirs a new melody in your heart, a song of gratitude and awe, as you experience the cleansing, liberating power of Jesus. As your understanding of His love and sacrifice grows, so does the depth and passion of your worship, drawing you ever closer to His presence. [03:24]
1 Corinthians 13:12 (ESV) "For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known."
Reflection: When did you first truly encounter Jesus, and how did that revelation change the way you worship? Take a moment to remember and thank Him for that transformation today.
Day 2: Worship in heaven is declaration
Heavenly worship is marked by bold declaration—standing firm and proclaiming the greatness, power, and sovereignty of God. As you declare who God is, your faith is strengthened and your hope renewed, even when the world around you is shaking. These declarations are not just for God’s glory, but also to remind yourself of His unchanging nature and victory. Speaking out the truths of God’s Word lifts your spirit above fatigue, discouragement, and the enemy’s attacks, drawing you into the very atmosphere of heaven and filling you with joy and assurance. [12:10]
Revelation 4:11 (ESV) "Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created."
Reflection: What truth about God do you need to declare over your life today? Speak it out loud and notice how it changes your perspective.
Day 3: The essence of true worship is awe and wonder
True worship is rooted in awe and wonder—being captivated by the beauty, majesty, and holiness of Jesus. Like children who are easily amazed, you are invited to gaze upon the glory of Christ, letting all other distractions fade away in His light. This kind of worship is not about routine or performance, but about being mesmerized by the Lamb who was slain, savoring His love, grace, and mercy. As you meditate on His character and works, your heart rises in adoration, and your faith is built up, drawing you deeper into His presence. [18:32]
Revelation 1:12-17 (ESV) "Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, 'Fear not, I am the first and the last.'"
Reflection: What aspect of Jesus’ character fills you with awe today? Take time to meditate on that and let it lead you into worship.
Day 4: True worship is filled with thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is the doorway into God’s presence, even when you feel weary, discouraged, or under attack. Choosing to thank God—regardless of your circumstances—shifts your focus from your struggles to His faithfulness, opening your heart to experience His peace, love, and nearness. As you begin to thank Him for His mercy, grace, and blessings, something shifts within you, and worship flows naturally. This perseverance in thanksgiving is a powerful act of faith that leads you deeper into the presence of God and strengthens your spiritual life. [24:19]
Revelation 7:12 (ESV) "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen."
Reflection: What is one specific thing you can thank God for today, even if it feels small? Speak it out and notice how your heart responds.
Day 5: Worship is self-renewing and leads to victory
Worship is a self-renewing reality—each day, as you press in and sing a new song to the Lord, your spirit is refreshed and your faith is strengthened. Victories in your life, both big and small, are opportunities to celebrate and burst forth in praise, just as Moses and the Israelites did after crossing the sea. God’s mercies are new every morning, and as you meditate on His victories and faithfulness, your worship deepens and you are transformed from glory to glory. This ongoing renewal empowers you to live victoriously and to experience more of God’s presence and joy. [27:13]
Psalm 96:1-3 (ESV) "Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!"
Reflection: What recent victory or answered prayer can you celebrate with a new song of praise today? Let your worship reflect the joy of God’s faithfulness.
Sermon Summary
Worship is not just a practice for Sunday mornings; it is the very essence of our life as followers of Jesus. We are created for worship, and the worship we see in heaven is meant to be our template, shaping how we approach God now and preparing us for eternity. True worship begins with a revelation of Jesus—when the reality of His saving grace and presence becomes alive in our hearts, worship naturally flows. It is not about performance or ritual, but about a living relationship with the Father and the Son, made possible by the Holy Spirit. As our understanding of Jesus deepens, so does our worship, growing in passion and authenticity.
Heavenly worship is marked by bold declaration. When we declare the greatness, power, and mercy of God, we not only glorify Him but also strengthen our own faith. These declarations remind us that, despite the chaos of the world, God remains sovereign and unshakable. Worship lifts us above our circumstances, drawing us into the very atmosphere of heaven and filling us with hope and assurance.
Awe and wonder are at the heart of true worship. Like children, we are called to be captivated by the beauty and majesty of Jesus. Gazing upon Him, savoring His love, grace, and mercy, transforms us. When we meditate on who He is and what He has done, our hearts are filled with adoration, and our spirits are renewed.
Thanksgiving is the doorway into God’s presence. Even when life is hard and we feel weary, choosing to thank God for His blessings, grace, and faithfulness opens the way for us to encounter Him. This perseverance in thanksgiving leads us from heaviness into joy, from distance into intimacy with God.
Finally, worship is self-renewing. There is no limit to how deep we can go in worship; it is ever-fresh, ever-new. As we press in, both personally and together, we break through spiritual barriers and experience more of God’s glory. We are called to continually seek a greater revelation of Jesus, to let our worship grow, and to become powerful, victorious people who live in the presence of God.
Key Takeaways
1. True worship is born from a personal revelation of Jesus. When the reality of His saving grace and presence becomes alive in us, worship is no longer a duty but a joyful response. This revelation is not a one-time event but a continual deepening as we walk with Him. The more we see Jesus, the more our hearts are compelled to worship. [03:24]
2. Declaration in worship is both an act of glorifying God and a means of strengthening our own faith. As we proclaim God’s sovereignty, power, and love, we remind ourselves of His unchanging nature amidst a shifting world. These declarations lift us above our circumstances and fill us with hope, anchoring us in the victory of Christ. [11:19]
3. Awe and wonder are essential to authentic worship. Like children, we are invited to be continually amazed by the beauty, majesty, and love of Jesus. Gazing upon Him, savoring His character and works, transforms our perspective and deepens our adoration, even in the midst of life’s challenges. [18:32]
4. Thanksgiving is the gateway to God’s presence. Choosing gratitude, especially when we feel weary or burdened, shifts our focus from our problems to God’s faithfulness. This act of faith opens our hearts to experience His peace, love, and nearness, renewing our spirits and empowering us to persevere. [24:19]
5. Worship is a self-renewing reality that grows deeper as we press in. There is always more of God’s presence and glory available to us, and as we seek Him, our worship becomes ever more vibrant and transformative. This continual pursuit not only changes us but also breaks spiritual barriers, releasing God’s power in our lives and communities. [27:13]
Revelation 4:11 — “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
2. Revelation 5:9-10 “And they sang a new song, saying, ‘Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.’”
3. Psalm 100:4 “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”

Sermon Clips
When our hearts and minds have been open to the glory of God, to the glorious saving power of Jesus Christ, when it dawns deep within me the miraculous salvation of God, then my worship grows in depth and in passion. [00:03:20]
When you know that Jesus has made everything right, that you who were lost in your sin, bound up, not knowing God, when you have come into that place of liberty, your spirit has been brought to life, you're now in a relationship with your father and with Jesus, there's a new melody in your heart. [00:04:38]
Worship is a selfrenewing reality. There is no limit to worship. You can never get to the place and say, "Oh, hallelujah. I'm here now. I've got it. I'm at the top rung now. I'm I'm first class citizen of the kingdom. I've got it. No, as I'm hoping to show you this morning, worship is self-renewing and it grows and it deepens. [00:06:10]
When our revelation increases about God, about this wonderful father, when our re our revelation increases about Jesus, this magnificent, glorious savior who gave his life for us, the greater the revelation of the person of Jesus, the deeper the worship. [00:06:42]
There was a move of the spirit like like never before. And out of that came all these wonderful hymns. You know, Charles Wesley, the brother of John Wesley, the the revivalist, he wrote 6,000 hymns. I mean, that switched on. Yes. And they were glorious hymns. [00:07:22]
In declaration, two things happen. One, it glorifies God. It acknowledges who he is. Secondly, it strengthens our faith. When I sing of the greatness and the power and the love and the mercy and the compassion of God, it fills me with faith. It fills me with hope. It stirs me to life. [00:10:50]
As we declare, we remind ourselves the world might be shaking. Systems might be shaking right now in the world, but God is sovereign. God is immovable like a mountain and he stands strong. And in Jesus, as Colossians says, in him the whole world holds together. [00:11:28]
Stop at nothing less than entering the presence of God. Friends, listen. God wants you and me to know his presence, to feel his presence. That's not a touchyfey, happy, charismatic thing. That's life, our our faith. It's not emotionalism, but it's experiential. God wants us to feel his love. [00:14:52]
Those are the three pillars of our walk of walk of faith, friends. Worship, the word, and prayer. And every one of those will be consistently attacked by the enemy. And therefore, we have to rise up in faith. We need to know where we're headed. We need to know, I will stop at nothing less than experiencing the presence of God in my life. [00:16:04]
True worship is gazing upon the lamb who was slain before the foundation of the world. Being mesmerized by Jesus, you know, we get mesmerized by many things, don't we? Get all all hung up and we're looking at this thing and we considering this thing and we and it's like taking up all our energy and our thoughts. [00:19:14]
When we begin to see Jesus clearly through scripture, his beauty, his power, his humility, his justice, his mercy, his glory, then our hearts rise in true worship and adoration. [00:23:34]
Thankfulness is the doorway into the presence of God. If you don't believe me, please try it. Please try it. Because like you, there are those days when I too may be stuck. The body's tired, the mind's tired, I'm being a bit hassled by the devil, and you don't feel spiritual. [00:24:55]
Worship is self-renewing. That is exactly why the psalmist says, "Sing to the Lord a new song." Yes. Sing to the Lord all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise his name, proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all people. [00:26:41]
We are a people called to press in and press in and press in to break that ice ceiling over our head and let the floodwaters fall over us. Worshiping people are powerful, powerful people. Singing new songs is normally done when there's a victory. [00:28:12]
Worship, the word, and prayer. And when we get that tripod correct, friends, there's a victory in our lives. There's an assurance in our lives. We walk with confidence before the Lord. Not because of anything good about us, but because of the greatness of the one whom we worship. [00:33:44]
