#CreationOrchestra
“``Imagine creation like an orchestra created to play for God. Every created thing has a part, but no part in creation has as big a part as you and I do. It is as if god has given us the big golden that outperforms the entire rest of the orchestra. And when people sinned, it was as if we took that big, beautiful, golden harp and we threw it down in the mud. And it has lain there and it has been trampled underfoot. It has been forgotten. It has rusted. Its strings are broken and they're out of tune. And it is as though salvation is god forgiving us. For ruining the harp that he gave us to worship him, and he has forgiven us for wasting our lives doing useless things instead of playing in his orchestra.”

#SacredSilence
“I did a men's group, a leadership group for the church at Whitfield, and we went through this really great program called Emotionally Healthy Discipleship, and we started out every meeting with five minutes silence. You have never been so uncomfortable in your life. Do you know how many times I look at the clock to see how long five minutes is? I mean, I can set the alarm for five minutes. It feels like an eternity when no one is saying or doing anything but waiting to hear from God. What I'm saying is it's hard for us. There is so much other stuff vying for our attention. But if we don't learn to recognize god, and he can be anywhere because he is everywhere. If we don't learn to recognize god, we'll never be able to respond to him.”

#BecomeOneYourself
“Look at your life. Examine your life. Where are most of your emotions being spent? We can make idols out of people. And if you choose a spouse because you think that spouse is going to complete your life, you're creating an idol and it won't work. I heard it said, in order to become one, you have to be one. You have to be one in order to become one. If you bring a half of a person to that relationship, you're not gonna become one because you're looking for them to do something that they cannot do for you that only god can do for you.”

#KnowGodNotFear
“We have to know god in order to recognize god, in order to recognize god and respond to god, we have to know who he is. I had an encounter with someone yesterday and they were telling me about a particular situation and they said, I'm just full of fear and I said, you know, fear is not from god. God didn't give us a spirit of fear, right? You know, first Timothy tells us something about that. God didn't give us that spirit of fear. Not only do we have a world full of people who are ignorant of who god is but often times, we have churches full of people that are ignorant about who god is. Now, ignorant is much different than stupid. Ignorant simply means you don't know. Stupid means you won't learn But ignorance simply means you don't know. There are many things that I am ignorant about but I can learn if I choose to.”
