#WorshipEveryday
“``This leads us to a question that forces us to be really honest about where we're at, and I hope we'll consider it carefully. If Sunday service didn't exist, what would our worship look like? I'll say it one more time. If Sunday service, what we're doing right here together, didn't exist, what would our worship look like? What attributes would we choose to put on each day? Would we sing at all, give thanks, share a meal with others in our home? Would we be slow to anger in our commutes? In our commutes? Okay? Would we choose patience when the kids are driving us absolutely insane? Does peace rule in our hearts? Would we give humbly or serve faithfully? Would we forgive that friend when when we feel like they've wronged us? Would any of our daily habits be evidence that we have been radically changed by the love and grace of Jesus?”

#WorshipAtHome
“Imagine what would happen if our worship wasn't just confined in this room. Imagine homes that were marked by gratitude instead of grumbling, dinner tables that were filled with prayer, ordinary done with excellence, parents blessing their children, friends practicing forgiveness, neighbors seeing Jesus through our everyday faithfulness. When these things are happening, Sunday wouldn't just be the beginning of worship. It would simply be the gathering of people who have been worshiping all week. I wanna challenge us with this this final question to consider. And first, it's, does god have the attention of my heart? And if the answer to this question is yes, what can I recognize in my life? What can I reframe? And what can I reshape in my day to day life as a response?”

#HeartOverPerformance
“You see, God is so much more interested in our honesty and in our faithful living than he is with our religious performance. The Pharisee did all the right things. His habits of fasting, his habits of giving, these are good things. These are honorable things to do. But his heart was completely in the wrong place. But the tax collector, the man who humbly understood his need for mercy before a righteous and almighty god, he was the one who went home in right standing. These habits don't earn god's love. They flow God's love. We don't put on compassion so God accepts us. We put on compassion because Christ already has. The better we understand what we've been rescued from, the more joyful our worship becomes.”

#FaithInTheOrdinary
“And what begins in the heart does not speed directly into a sanctuary. It spills over into one of the most sacred spaces that each of us belong to, and that is the home. And ironically enough, home is where the heart is. So this notion couldn't be more spot on. What takes place in our hearts is going to trickle into our homes. The mundane, ordinary parts of our week spills into our workspaces, into our passing interactions, into our parenting, our commutes, our taking out the our garbage, or mowing the grass. All of these unseen lackluster moments that happen in our day to day living, these are what holds some of the most sacred and holy potential when we begin to align them with what has our heart's affection. What begins in the heart should be evidenced by the habits of our daily lives because true worship is something we clothe ourselves in every day, not just on Sundays.”
