And this brings us to this point, this important point, that if we, because God sees all things everywhere, and God sees us everywhere, if we worship God when others are around, only when others are around, and only in certain places, we aren't really worshiping like we should. [00:17:20] (21 seconds)

It's all about the heart. And he told the religious leaders to stop making prayers so long, right, just to sound fancy. He said to stop doing good things in front of people so that others can see how good you are, generous you are. Our good actions can be worshiping and glorifying something other than God without us realizing it. [00:22:50] (21 seconds)

On the other hand, religious practices that is totally void of any heart or spirit is not only discouraged, it is detestable to God. And we see this in Amos chapter 5. God says through his prophet, I hate, I despise your religious festival. I despise your religious festivals. Your assemblies are a stench to me. [00:23:44] (21 seconds)

Jesus teaches us it's not simply enough simply to worship God in spirit. It's just as important to worship God in truth of scripture. God's word says that it is God that makes sure that the birds of the air get fed, right? So we don't worry about tomorrow. God's word says God loved you so much he sent his only son to die in your place. [00:31:12] (20 seconds)

Worship is less about where, when, or even how much we worship, but why we worship. So it is a good habit for us to have to ask ourselves, why am I doing this right now? You can take a moment right now if you like. Why am I here this morning? Every answer will be different. [00:34:28] (24 seconds)

Finally, this one might be a little tougher to spot. When we only obey God in order to receive certain blessings, we are declaring the value of those blessings rather than God. Do we seek to know God for the sake of knowing him? Or do we seek to know him for the blessings that he gives? [00:36:07] (19 seconds)

If washing dishes could be worship, anything could be worship. Everything. Everything. Whether it's in word or deed or thought, we need to do it under the conviction that we are doing it for God, not for people. Apostle Paul says this in Galatians 1 .10, Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings or of God? [00:38:39] (21 seconds)

When our worship comes from the heart and it's genuinely expressed, worship could be anything from singing songs in church to doing house chores, or even just meditating in your car about his greatness. It could be giving a cup of water to a stranger, as so Jesus taught. [00:39:52] (19 seconds)
