Creation itself proclaims the glory and majesty of God, revealing His presence and power to all who look upon it. Every sunrise, every star in the night sky, and every detail of the natural world is a nonverbal message from God, testifying to His existence, creativity, and faithfulness. Even when words are absent, the beauty and order of creation communicate that God is alive, active, and sovereign over all. As you observe the world around you, remember that God is reaching out, inviting you to recognize His handiwork and respond in awe and gratitude. [45:03]
Psalm 19:1-6 (CSB)
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the expanse proclaims the work of his hands. Day after day they pour out speech; night after night they communicate knowledge. There is no speech; there are no words; their voice is not heard. Their message has gone out to the whole earth, and their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming from his home; it rejoices like an athlete running a course. It rises from one end of the heavens and circles to their other end; nothing is hidden from its heat.
Reflection: As you go about your day, pause to notice something in creation that points you to God’s glory. How does this change your awareness of His presence in your life today?
God’s Word is perfect, trustworthy, and life-giving, offering wisdom, joy, and renewal to all who receive it. Unlike anything else, Scripture has the power to revive a weary soul, make the inexperienced wise, and bring gladness to the heart. Its commands enlighten our eyes, its precepts are right, and its ordinances are reliable and altogether righteous. The Word of God is more desirable than gold and sweeter than honey, providing abundant reward to those who keep it. Embracing God’s Word daily is not just a duty but a source of deep delight and transformation. [54:15]
Psalm 19:7-11 (CSB)
The instruction of the Lord is perfect, renewing one’s life; the testimony of the Lord is trustworthy, making the inexperienced wise. The precepts of the Lord are right, making the heart glad; the command of the Lord is radiant, making the eyes light up. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are reliable and altogether righteous. They are more desirable than gold—than an abundance of pure gold; and sweeter than honey dripping from a honeycomb. In addition, your servant is warned by them; and in keeping them there is an abundant reward.
Reflection: What is one specific way you can make space today to let God’s Word renew and gladden your heart, even if it’s just a few minutes of focused reading or meditation?
True engagement with God’s Word requires a humble and honest heart, willing to be searched, cleansed, and transformed by God. Recognizing our hidden faults and unintentional sins, we come before the Lord asking Him to purify us and keep us from willful rebellion. The prayerful posture is one of surrender, desiring that the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts would be pleasing to God, our rock and redeemer. This humility opens the way for God’s Word to do its deep work within us, shaping us into people who reflect His character. [44:32]
Psalm 19:12-14 (CSB)
Who perceives his unintentional sins? Cleanse me from my hidden faults. Moreover, keep your servant from willful sins; do not let them rule me. Then I will be blameless and cleansed from blatant rebellion. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
Reflection: Is there a hidden attitude or habit you need to bring before God today? Ask Him to search your heart and show you where He wants to bring cleansing and freedom.
God has given us His Word not just so we can know about Him, but so we can know Him personally and experience His love. The Scriptures are not meant to be a mysterious or burdensome task, but a clear and loving communication from God’s heart to ours. Through His Word, God invites us into a relationship where we can hear His voice, understand His boundaries, and respond to His affections. This living Word is a daily reminder that we are loved, pursued, and called to love Him in return. [01:12:18]
John 15:9-11 (CSB)
“As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commands you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.”
Reflection: How can you approach God’s Word today as a loving invitation rather than a duty? What would it look like to respond to His love in a tangible way?
Following Jesus is not a solitary journey; it is a shared commitment within the family of faith. As we listen to God’s Word together, we encourage, support, and learn from one another, modeling Christ to each other and to the world. The church is a place where imperfect people walk together, helping each other follow Christ more faithfully. Responding to God’s voice means stepping forward in faith, whether through baptism, membership, or simply encouraging a fellow believer, knowing that we are united in Christ’s love and mission. [01:19:11]
Hebrews 10:24-25 (CSB)
And let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.
Reflection: Who in your church family can you encourage or support today as you follow Christ together? Reach out with a word or act of encouragement that reflects God’s love.
Today began with the joy of witnessing several friends and families publicly declare their faith in Jesus through baptism. Each story reminded us that following Christ is a decision worth celebrating, and that no one should be afraid to take that step—He is our Good Shepherd, our Rock, and our Redeemer. As we moved into worship, we turned our attention to Psalm 19, reflecting on the immense value of God’s Word and how it is central to our life as a church.
Psalm 19 reveals that God is always speaking. Creation itself proclaims His glory—day after day, night after night, the heavens and the skies pour out speech, even though their voice is not heard in words. This nonverbal communication is God’s masterpiece, testifying to His existence, power, and faithfulness. The rising sun, like a bridegroom leaving his home or an athlete running his course, is a daily reminder of God’s celebration, His faithfulness, and His sovereignty. Nothing is hidden from the sun’s heat, just as nothing is hidden from God’s authority.
Yet, creation’s message is only part of the story. While nature points us to God, it cannot tell us the good news of Jesus—how He saves, redeems, and transforms us. For that, we need the Word of God. Psalm 19 describes the Word as perfect, trustworthy, right, radiant, pure, and reliable. It renews life, makes the inexperienced wise, brings joy to the heart, enlightens the eyes, and offers security. God’s Word is more desirable than gold and sweeter than honey; it warns us, protects us, and brings abundant reward.
But there is also a call to posture ourselves as listeners. David’s prayer at the end of the psalm is a model for us: to recognize our hidden faults, to ask God to cleanse us, and to desire that the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts are pleasing to Him. God has given us His Word not just so we can know about Him, but so we can know Him, love Him, and be transformed by Him. This Word is not homework or a mystery—it is a gift, a clear expression of God’s love for us. May we respond by falling in love with God as we fall in love with His Word, listening for His voice, and allowing it to restore and strengthen our souls.

I think the last verse tells us that nothing is hidden from its heat because he's trying to show us God's sovereignty, that no one is hidden from the complete authority and power of the Lord, for he is sovereign. [00:52:03] (16 seconds) #JoyInGodsDesign
Because God cannot lie, and God doesn't lie, this Word's not going to lie because God is perfect and holy, then therefore His Word is going to be perfect and holy. This isn't foreign news to us, right? Because all of us know a liar. All of us know a liar. And when we see the liar that's in our lives, when we know the liar that's in our lives, we have a hard time trusting anything this person sees. Their nature carries over into their words. Their Word carries their nature. [00:55:24] (37 seconds) #MorePreciousThanGold
The first perk that you see in the text is that this Word of God that's given to us, spoken to us, written for us, man, it can take a dead, dry soul and nourish it and bring it to life again. It renews one's life. [00:56:25] (17 seconds) #AbundantRewardInWord
What we find when we submit to this word is man. There is an abundant reward. It doesn't just say there's a reward. In other words, God doesn't just hold out his bag of candy at Halloween and give you one piece. God doesn't just open up his bag at Halloween when you say trick or treat and give you a whole sized candy bar. It's an abundant reward. [01:05:21] (24 seconds)

God has made a way for you to know his voice. God has made a way for you to know him. God has made a way for you what he says, to know what he commands, to know the words of his affections for you to know the boundaries. He's put up in your life for a reason. God has made a way with his voice printed on these papers under the power of the Holy Spirit, for you and I to know him and never allow ourselves to get to a place where we go. I don't actually think he said that. [01:10:51] (44 seconds)
