#CalledByGod
“Even in the midst of their failures and foibles, God's goodness and grace, faith would not give up on God's people. And so God chooses a person, anyone who's willing to rise to the occasion and follow God faithfully. God will use that person as a conduit, as a means through which God's ends will be achieved in the world. And so it's not a matter of who can or can't do it. Is she allowed to or she's not allowed to? She just did because God said she could.”

#ChosenByGod
“And so, when we put this all together, what the story of Deborah teaches us then is is is that the question of leadership isn't can or can't do it, but rather who God chooses as a conduit. We enter this story with no rationale explanation or vindication of why Deborah's leading other than just that she is. Why? Because God chose to use her as a conduit for what God was doing, which was rescuing and redeeming Israel.”

#HearHerWisdom
“And as we close, I just want you to pause for a moment and imagine how different our world, your life, my life would be if we just simply listened and obeyed the strategic spirit filled voices like Deborah's in our life. Our world which often resembles the book of Judges more closely than we'd like to admit, would be so beautifully different if men listened to and acted upon the God inspired wisdom and leadership of women and refused to move forward without the presence and partnership of women at the table.”

#MenAsAllies
“And can you imagine women, what might be possible if the men in your life responded to you like Barak did to Deborah? Who saw you as a true Ezra Kenegdo, a power equal to them through whom God can and will deliver. Well, this my friends is precisely the world that Jesus not only imagined but made possible through his death and resurrection.”
