Romans 1 says that God’s eternal attributes are clearly seen from the beginning of creation. Creation shows that God is there, but seeing His glory around the earth does not by itself bring a person into relationship with Him. Jesus is the name that must be called on. Jesus is Savior and Lord, whether someone calls on Him for the first time or the first time in a long time.
The cross answers every fear that a person has not done enough to earn God’s love. Christ’s sacrifice shows that God did not withhold any good thing, and His love was already moving toward His people from the beginning. God knew each life before it was formed in the mother’s womb, and God sees the purpose and path ahead. His knowledge is not limited by the places where people feel stuck, confused, ashamed, or afraid.
Colossians 3 calls every word and every deed into the glory of God. A whole life can become an offering, not only in singing but in action, thought, decisions, and hidden places. The things people hold back are not beyond God’s wisdom. God has the way out, the solution, the provision, the restoration, and the forgiveness for what feels impossible right now. Jesus can come behind mistakes, repair what has been broken, and still make a way forward.
The blood of Christ and the word of testimony give believers confidence against every plan, plot, and strategy of the enemy. God’s glory is all around, but calling on Jesus changes fear into faith and uncertainty into surrender. Nothing compares to the Lord. No circumstance, era, king, kingdom, achievement, failure, or future success deserves the place that belongs to Him alone.
The Holy Spirit convicts of sin and teaches righteousness, and He is well able to convince even stubborn hearts that God is righteous, almighty, and worthy. Praise becomes a decision, especially when life is difficult. Praise refuses to give worry the throne. Praise keeps putting God’s goodness before the eyes and heart, until His unchanging character becomes louder than what is hard. God is still worthy in every circumstance, and a heart that keeps saying, “You are the same God,” learns to see Him more clearly.
Key Takeaways
- 1. Call on Jesus, not just creation. Romans 1 says creation makes God’s eternal power visible, but visible glory does not automatically become saving faith. Jesus must be personally called on as Lord. Faith moves beyond noticing God’s fingerprints and yields the whole life to Christ. [48:35]
- 2. The cross settles the question of love. The cross answers the fear that someone has failed to do enough to deserve God’s love. Christ’s sacrifice reveals that God’s love is not earned by spiritual performance. The heart can stop bargaining and begin surrendering. [49:05]
- 3. Give God every word and deed. Colossians 3 brings ordinary speech, actions, thoughts, and choices under the glory of God. Nothing needs to remain held back before the altar. God’s wisdom reaches even the situation that currently has no clear answer. [49:47]
- 4. Praise gives worry no throne. Praise does not deny that difficult things are real, but it refuses to call difficult things ultimate. Achievements, failures, and uncertain futures cannot carry the weight of worship. God alone is worthy of the praise on the lips. [1:19:29]
- 5. God remains worthy in hard seasons. The Holy Spirit convinces hearts that God is righteous, almighty, and well able. A determined life of praise trains the heart to see God’s goodness in every setting. “You are the same God” becomes a confession stronger than changing circumstances. [1:20:42]
