God’s Word stands at the center of winning in life. The first Adam fell because the devil twisted what God had said, then pulled Eve into a dialogue that ended in disobedience. The devil still uses that same old trick, questioning what God has said and tempting people to reach for what God has already given them. The believer is already complete in Christ, yet the enemy keeps saying, “Has God said?” and “If you are.”
Jesus faced that same strategy in the wilderness. Jesus did not debate the devil, explain Himself, or try to prove His identity. Jesus answered, “It is written.” The Word of God became Christ’s weapon because He understood its context, its content, and its precepts. The devil even quoted Scripture, proving that a person can hear Bible words and still be trapped if that person does not truly know the Word.
The Word convicts of sin, and that conviction is not condemnation. The Spirit convicts because God wants His children close, wants to bring them home, and wants to deliver them before hardness of heart brings judgment. A heart that can no longer feel conviction is like a nerve deadened by leprosy, standing on hot coal without feeling the danger. The Word also reveals the inheritance of those in Christ: no condemnation, greater is He that is in them, and authority over every work of darkness.
The Word builds character because disciples continue in it. Daniel’s greatness did not begin in Babylon’s palace; Daniel’s greatness began in his heart, where he proposed not to defile himself. The heart became a reservoir, a bank, and a hiding place for the Word. The Word hidden in the heart produced the strength that made Daniel excel long before his success became visible.
The Word is also an unfair instrument of spiritual warfare. Paul calls it the sword of the Spirit, while prayer joins it as an offensive weapon against spiritual wickedness. God sends His Word to heal, to break sickness and disease, and to accomplish the purpose for which He sent it. God’s Word does not return void.
Faith must therefore search the Scriptures until God gives a word for the actual situation. Joshua received God’s Word before Jericho fell. The Word, once it has marinated the soul and become fire in the bones, makes it possible to say, “Let every man be a liar, but let God be true.” Victory and winning in life come through the Word.

Key Takeaways
- 1. Never dialogue with the devil The devil does not approach carelessly. The devil twists truth with enough accuracy to sound convincing and enough distortion to produce a fall. Jesus refused the trap of argument and answered with the settled authority of what God had written. [55:05]
- 2. Conviction calls the heart home The Spirit’s conviction is evidence that God has not abandoned the heart. Condemnation drives a person away from God, but conviction exposes sin in order to bring that person back to the Father. A sensitive heart is a gift that must be guarded. [63:10]
- 3. God’s Word is spiritual weaponry Paul’s sword of the Spirit is not religious decoration. The Word gives believers something to wield against sickness, fear, demonic pressure, and the lies of the enemy. Prayer and the Word move together as offensive weapons in spiritual warfare. [71:08]
- 4. Find God’s word for your circumstance Isaiah’s promise does not invite careless claims detached from God’s voice. God calls faith to seek Him in Scripture until a word becomes clear, living, and settled in the heart. That word can then be carried back to God in prayer with confidence that it will accomplish His purpose. [75:38]
- 5. Hide the Word in the heart Daniel’s public excellence flowed from a private decision in his heart. The Word stored within becomes the strength to refuse defilement when compromise looks normal and profitable. Lasting success begins where God’s truth has become inwardly established.
