#EncounterJesusNow
“``Right now, if you know there is sin in your life, you maybe you once walked with God, but things have separated you. Maybe you're here and you've never had the chance to know Jesus for yourself. The truth of it is is we are separated from God. But right now, you can answer that knocking and you can know the love of Jesus that removes all things. It says he wipes the past away, gives you a brand new beginning. Those who are in Christ, you become a new creation. If you would love to encounter that and to know that for yourself today, to be able to walk with God from this point for, I am not promising you an easy life, but I am promising you Emmanuel, the one who walks with you. I'm promising the one who will guide you, comfort you, and protect you, whose hope, freedom, and forgiveness shall not leave you”

#ChooseAccountability
“Rather than work through it, we just find an opinion that suits our one. And who knows that online there are a million different views. And who knows that the enemy will ensure that you will find somebody who will validate our view. Validate our feelings, validate the way we would want it, our will, our ways. And before we realise the current of culture, we start to embrace cancel culture. We start cutting off the very community, the very church that actually we found him in the first place. We close off our heart to being vulnerable and available to what God wants to do. And we actually don't realize, but we're corrupting our core. And we never grow into maturity because we've drifted from the foundation and the need for this incredible word, accountability.”

#SpiritNotSize
“We're a family. Remember? Even though they grew quick, personal and powerful. So I just want to address big churches are not unfriendly. Unfriendly churches are unfriendly. I've been to a church of 30 people where I knew I was the only new person, not one hello. It's got nothing to do with the size of the room. It's got to do with the spirit that's carried in the people who call it home. And I'm not being negative to that church. I probably looked very intimidating.”

#OneBodyManyChurches
“we are a part of not just this family but the wider church family, The collective church? We are one part of many great churches serving this city in this nation. We are not the perfect church. We are not the only church. We are not the best church. You will never hear us say, oh we're the best church. We are not the best church. We have the best God. There are many options out there. We definitely have the best God. But we are part of a wider body and we are part of a bride that is there to build the bride.”

#TransparencyBuildsTrust
“What does this do? And we really are gonna stay on this one point. It deals with the enemy's tactic of distrust. Because proximity, we start to see closely. And in relationship, we discover what is real. And as I've said many many times here, transparency builds trust. So there's never a question you can't ask. I know that there are wonderful people who have been through seasons and been through stuff that has caused an element of caution in your heart towards the house. But can I invite you and say to you, come on? There's gonna come a moment. You gotta talk with one of the pastors and just process. Don't let it park you longer than it should.”

#JesusGreatUnifier
“But don't let those be divisive things. Why? Because our common denominator, Jesus Christ, our lord and savior, is the great unifier that joins us together and will enable in all the drift, in all the sweep, in all the times, in all the currents, in all the things of life. Come on, who knows, we can remain. And we can stand on that which is unfailing, that which is true, that which God is building, that's what he's coming back for, that which is called to be the hope of the world, that which is shines a light in the darkness, that which sets the sinner free, that which saves the hardest of hearts and renews the most broken of lives. What's his name? His name is Jesus Christ. And I don't know about you, but I love the church because it's God's house. It's a home for all. It's a family of faith. It's the gathering of the saints. It's a beacon of hope. It's a light tower. It's heaven on earth.”

#BelongAndMagnifyJesus
“For us as a church, you've got to hear it, our first mission is that we belong, a church to call home. We are a family. Are our arms are open wide. Anyone can come in But who knows that every family has values? Values set the culture. can love the culture but not know the values. So then it's hard to replicate even though we're enjoying it. So real quickly, what are our life family values? Number one, our first value that we carry as a church is that we magnify Jesus. We live out his example guided by the Holy Spirit.”

#NoOneStandsAlone
“we have a saying that we say here, no one stands alone. Alright? No one stands alone. That's not the responsibility of someone with a lanyard around their neck. That's responsible for every single one of us. People say, yeah. But in in church like this, you walk in, it's just like it's just like there's clicks everywhere. There's a pocket of people there, a pocket of there, and they're all kind of laughing and hanging out. It's like, yeah. Because people get on together. How weird would it be if we all just came in and be like, oh, I can't really laugh and hang out and like no. It's a good thing. Right? I would say the larger it is, there's more chance you're gonna find people that you just naturally connect with and that's not negative, that's not clicky, that's called friendship.”

#ChooseResolutionNotDrama
“I can't believe he did that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No. Accountability says, man, I'm sure I'm sure there's probably two sides, and I'm sure that something got missed in the mix of what was going on. And I I know, hey, we're all gonna have grace for each other, don't we? Come on. I'll I'll come with you. I know it can be hard to start a conversation and just face something, but I'm not I'm not there to join sides, but I I could help. We could just get back on the same page. We could just resolve this now. I mean this could go for another two weeks or we could just deal with this now. I mean you don't have to you actually don't have to go and post something online about getting offended. You don't. Like we could just deal with this. Right? Like, I know this is really basic stuff, but it does kinda feel like if we don't keep coming how church, who knows? Cultures are gonna come in, winds are gonna blow, and all of a sudden, little things that were only little things. Right? They become big things.”

#MatureThroughAccountability
“but the main thing is we don't look over our eyes at somebody else and say, obviously, if only you were like me, if only you had what? We all need his grace and we all need to live from his grace. So do not talk negative. If you've come from a past experience, don't talk negatively about it, especially not to people in foyers. It doesn't help, and it doesn't enable your heart to heal. But talk to a pastor, process, pray, maybe need to go back and have a healthy conversation with where you've come from to resolve stuff. That's what maturity, that's what accountability does. It grows us and we just keep moving in to what God has. The last thing and I had a whole point around this called a temple”

#WatchForSpiritualDrift
“Everything else is moving. We're having a whole lot of fun. We're jumping in. We're getting smashed by the waves. It's awesome. But at moments, you've to go, where are the flags? And where have I moved? Because without realising, who knows, the drift starts to take you. And so from the youngest of age, that's what they know. Our oldest already are aware of it and there's moments you might go in at one point where the flags are and you end up at the other point of the flags. And don't you love that you've got lifeguards on the outside like, excuse me, mister. Can you get out? Go back up. You've started to drift out. And who knows God's flags in our life, his boundaries in our life are not to stop us having fun, but that we could have unlimited fun and and the fullness of what's available, right, within the parameters that he's that he set. Yes.”

#OurStatementOfFaith
“one thing I just wanted to bring focus to or bring awareness to is that that we as a church, if you're going well what what are our flag posts? What are our movables? What do we believe? Like when the currents of everything's going on, you look back at the flags, what what is what do we believe? What is the thing that doesn't change with tides and seasons and all that kind of stuff? We actually have on our website, you can go onto the home page, you can see it there, there's a tab here that says about, you can drop down, it says statement of beliefs. You can actually go on there and read our statement of beliefs when it comes to the bible, the triune God, the father, the son Jesus Christ, the holy spirit, sin, salvation, what we believe about the church, water baptism, communion, God's creation and design, what we believe about Christian marriage, because who knows, cultural marriage is different to Christian marriage. One man, one woman. Right? Who thought that one day that would be controversial to say? Currents don't change the conviction that we carry that God's word is the rock that we build our lives on. Also,”

#StandFirmInStorms
“The thing is is while we were there, the wind got up and different swells started to come in and was amazing that the current increased and who knows that even though we're in the church, who knows that the winds and the currents and the storms of life, right, outside of the church, who knows it can create an increased sweep? And the reality of it is is that the intention for us is that we've got to keep our feet on the ground, we've got to keep our eyes on the flags and we've to keep our hand in the father's hand because it will sweep, it will drift, and we find through the New Testament when the church was birthed that as the apostles would go back where a church had been birthed, they would encourage and say, man, this is amazing. And then who knows? They would address different sweeps, different drifts. Why? Because they were built in different cultures. And the culture in the world, as we're welcoming anyone and everyone from the world into the church, who knows? You gotta keep being really clear.”

#BeInTheWorldNotOfIt
“Hey. We we wanna bring those of the world in, but we're not wanting to become the world. We wanna be in the world, but not of the world. But if you don't keep clarifying, well, what does that even mean? Who knows? We just bring it in. And so today, when we're talking about why church, I actually felt Holy Spirit say, why don't we talk as life, how church? Like, how do we do what we do? What do we believe? You know, like, what are some of those fundamental things? Because who knows that in Revelations, when they talked to the seven churches, like, you guys are amazing. You've just started sleeping around a bit. You know, like, let's let's sort that out. Wow. You're doing you were doing so good. You've just lost your first love. You got so busy doing that you forgot that actually, come on, Martha, Martha, have a merry moment. So it's not ridicule, it's just repositioning. just the guy on the beach, excuse me. It does feel embarrassing because everybody looks at you. It's like just come back up. No, no, you don't have to get out and be in the naughty chair. No, just come just come back up. No one's here to shame, blame, just come back up.”

#ConnectedDiscipleship
“So what we would say to us is if we're not in a discipleship group, then I would say then you're probably not going to get the fullness of what God wanted and desired his family, his church to be in your life. That's not a negative but I don't think we can fully follow Jesus while remaining disconnected from the people Jesus joined together. So I'm not trying to be heavy but at the same time guys this was not a made up life thing, this was from the very start of the church. Right? It grew rapidly. Right? 70 or what was that? How many in the upper room? And then boom. 3,000. it was just as personal and just as powerful. Yet it had multiplied into the thousands.”

#AccountabilityOverAgreeability
“Now we're not here to knock everybody out, but there's a sense of family. I'm just I'm just trying to say, like, get real with if it's if he said, hey, guys, picture a family. What does that mean? It's messy, it's real, it's great, it's fun, it's tense. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But you're still family. What a beautiful family to be a part of. What does that mean? Our love for Jesus is real. Our love for others, it's real. Our wrestles in faith, they're real. Our love for our nation, it's real. Our heart for revival, it's real. It's not just a a saying. No. No. We're believing. Sims Street revival in the name of Jesus Christ. Our need and invitation of others leading in our life, the discipling we're needing, the encouragement and sharpening we're needing, that's real. Like, we need that. We invite that. Accountability over agreeability. Accountability over agreeability.”

#LoveJesusFirst
“Right? So in a sick self idolistic world, we come into faith and we come into the house of God, life, and we go, no. No. That's not how it works. That's right. Oh, I don't even wanna get on a team because I just don't you know? Like, no. No. No. It's not about what's easy and comfortable and convenient. It's about serving others. It's priority. Man, if if if I was to be on that, that would enable somebody else. You know? And we start to get a different culture. We start to get a different mindset. Is this okay? Greater love has no man than they actually lay down their self. Society is all good with us loving God as long as we love people more. Let your compassion for people determine your convictions for God, the word will say. Oh, you can love God but don't you love it more than you love people? But know when you love Jesus first, you can't help but love people. But love people first, and it will not be long before they drift. The current. Yeah. And we actually compromise our convictions and our love for Jesus.”

#WelcomeToTheFamilyOfFaith
“Before Christ, we were separated, but then in Christ, we are united. Right? The old is gone. We now have a new name. Right? Didn't Jesus say in Galatians, come on, there's neither Jew nor Gentile, slave nor free, There is no male nor female. No. You are now all one in Christ. When Jesus' mom was knocking on the door trying to get Jesus to it was like, no. No. Who are my family? The ones who do my will. He wasn't dishonoring his parents, but he was saying, come on. You gotta realize that, you were once citizens of the world, but now you're citizens of faith. Right? And that's why often when we, have moments where people can give their heart to Jesus, open your life to relationship with Jesus, and we'll have that moment later in the service for anyone that is here going, man, I just thought Christianity was about a religion. No. No. No. It's about a living real relationship with Jesus. And often what we'll celebrate once people pray the salvation prayer where they repent of the past and give your heart completely to the Lord, we literally say welcome to the family of faith. Not the family of works, the family of faith. Right? And we come together under the name of Jesus. All different cultures, all different generations, come on, all different backgrounds, but one family.”

#PlugInBeyondSunday
“we are a part of a growing church and God is doing incredible things, but you could hear it. Our focus is not on growth, it's on health. We've never tried to create a growing church. We've just gone, God, we want to serve you, love you, and we want to love people well. So in that, for us, it's really important that we realise that our heart is that at least 50% of those who come on a Sunday would actually be plugged in beyond a Sunday. That means we're in a discipleship group during the week. That means we're part of a team. We're maybe in the community serving, but it's not just come and attend. Come on. Who knows that? Pastor Nadia. Every time she's up here, right, MCN service, she goes come on we're not just called to attend on a Sunday, we're not just called to fill a seat, no you're family, we're called to do life together. So just hear it, the way we are going to be able to be discipled, way we're going to be able to be pastorally cared for, the way we're going to grow the best is actually when we're in relationship. How do we do that relationship? We do it through our discipleship groups, through our teams and the ways we interact together.”

#WeWereNotMadeToBeAlone
“No. Who knows? Christianity and doing life with others is not convenient. But thanks god that we live in the day that we do, that we're not having to get our wives on a donkey and walk a few streets. Right? It's easier than it's ever been. You're telling me that I could actually like do like lunch and hang out like every couple of months but we actually meet on Zoom and we do it like online? Yeah. I know that gives some of us a twitch because of COVID. I get it. But hey, if that's at the current season and capacity you have, better to be together Yes. Than to live alone. Yes. There's a series called Alone. You know the Alone series that's out there. One of actually our amazing church members is in this series alone. See you. Who knows that nobody who's done alone is still out there alone. You will not last forever alone. They say on average they last thirty to forty days is average. Very few have got past seventy days. Oh no, could just do it alone. Just me and my family. You can, I just don't know how long you're going to last? Most tap out because of emotional stuff that's going on that I would say we were never created to walk alone in and it could be the very same in our own lives.”
