#ChurchOnMission
“``The church is not a social club. We're not playing games here. We're in active war against the spiritual enemy of righteousness. And through faith, hope, and love, we put our the armor of God on. And together in unity, we fight on. At this church, we equip one another so that when we enter into this world, we can fight with love, proclaiming the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. So we laugh, we cry, we encourage, we admonish, we disciple, we sing. We do life on life together so that the world out there would recognize the testament that we have in here is different than what they have. Listen, we don't need the world's influencers to tell us what and how we should act, maybe what we should say, or who we should be. We need to stand out, lovingly proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.”

#JesusBeyondOpinion
“Now let me be clear. Jesus is not having some sort of existential identity crisis. He's not crowdsourcing what people think that he should be. He's exposing the people's perception of who they think Jesus is and it's not enough. So the first point I wanna make is this, on on their own, man's perception of Jesus is going to be incomplete, inconsistent, and inadequate. You see, everybody has an opinion about Jesus or who or who he is but they don't always agree. They they may have seen some things, maybe they heard some things, maybe they heard some things from someone who heard some things the from something that someone else remembered about what they heard. It's sort of like that old children's game of telephone where by the end of the line, the message that is message that is said is completely different than the original one. On our own, left to our own devices, how we answer who Jesus is is insufficient.”

#CornerstoneConquersDeath
“Sin, death, physical and otherwise, should have never been part of this world. Should never have been part of humanity. But because of our fallen world, we are faced time and again with a very sobering reality of our own mortality. Death, the final enemy in this life. here enters Jesus. What Jesus brings is this, Jesus, upon himself as the chief cornerstone, will build something magnificently strong that not even the final enemy that takes on Jesus himself at the cross would be able to hold him back nor the church that he would build. How encouraging is that?”

#ProclaimVictoryInChrist
“You may say, Sam, it's too hard. The the world is too strong. Remember the words of Christ. The gates of Hades will not overcome it. When we look at early church history, we see the immense persecution experienced at the hands of evil people, killing martyrs and crushing the very lives of Christians who held to their faith until their last dying breath. And yet, there were multitudes more that would join the ranks and absolutely boggle the mind of the enemies. Why would there be more Christians after countless unimaginable persecutions? It's because they recognize something. They proclaim their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and understood that the church would stand because the Lord God had proclaimed it to be so. That's what they believed. That's why they claim victory. A victory already won by the Lord. How about you? Are you ready to proclaim victory?”

#JesusIsTheFoundation
“So the point I wanna make is this, the foundation of the church solely rests upon the identity of Jesus Christ, the son of the living God. Now Jesus also depicts an incredible attribute about his church. He declares that the gates of Hades would not overcome it. Now we talk about the gates of Hades. The Jewish people would understand this as death. It's physical death. And there's over undertones of spiritual death here as well. But let's go back over to Genesis three for just a moment. Since the first sin, death is now introduced into this world. Death is absolutely foreign against the backdrop of a beautiful perfect creation that God had made.”

#WhoDoYouSayJesusIs
“How would you answer this question? Put yourselves in the disciples' sandals for a moment and imagine with me, your people, the Jewish people, have been waiting for the coming Messiah for hundreds of years. You have been conditioned to await the coming Christ because he will make things right and establish a new government. You've heard from the stories and promises passed down from generation to generation and now you're three years in following Jesus. He's different than the other rabbis. Never heard someone talk like him before. Never seen someone doing as many miracles as him before. But the religious leaders and the political class have all rejected him. And now you're in the regional heart of the Roman empire surrounded with all sorts of shrines and altars to Greek gods and Jesus has asked this question to you, But who do you say that I am? The question is simple. It's direct. It's personal. The moment, in this moment, the question of your personal faith becomes very real. There is no hiding behind what others say or what were your parents' faith or what you think is the right answer. The question Jesus is asking is deeply personal.”

#FaithByScriptureNotFeelings
“This lonely fear of my own faith and doubt cost me dearly, spiraling me into a sinful dark hole, rendering me ineffective in my personal faith all throughout much of my grade school and college years. That is, until one day listening to a sermon recording from pastor Steven, yes, my older brother, who gave a message about the assurances of our faith. In the sermon, he explained that my own emotions were not a good indicator for whether I am saved or not. But it should be based upon the word of God and what scripture says about my salvation's assurance, not how I felt about it. So when I reordered the priorities of my faith, I realized that proclaiming Christ for who he is was what mattered and my whole reality changed.”

#ChurchRemainsFaithful
“In this day and age, we hear a lot of church leaders falling away either from personal scandal that has been exposed leading their congregation in an unbiblical manner. Infighting among members of the church, conflicts are allowed to go unresolved. Frankly, it can be discouraging to see and hear and witness. Perhaps some of you have experienced hurt within the church. So it's only natural to ask, what is God doing here? This is what I'll say. When we recognize who Jesus is and rest in that, then we will also recognize that the true church will remain faithful. Then come what way you will stand against the gates of Hades. Isn't that amazing? Together, united in one heart, one faith, one Lord, this, brothers and sisters, is how we stand up for one another and stand against the enemy.”
