#FaithInAction
“faith, genuine faith is more than a confession James is telling us. He's saying if you're just confessing to something that's solid doctrine, you're no better than the demons. Knowing facts about God is not the same as loving him. Godly beliefs don't necessarily lead to godly acts. Let me say that again. Godly beliefs do not necessarily lead to godly acts. We can know the gospel back and forth, sideways. We can explain it in 13 different languages. But if that mercy has never touched our heart, what good is it?”

#GodRedeems
“She's in his genealogy, which is a couple things. Right? What? Uh-huh. Number one, god redeems a story. Your story's not over. If you're fogging a mirror today, your story's not over. God can redeem your story just like he did with Rahab and make it a beautiful thing and bring you closer to him than you ever have despite the struggles, despite the failures, despite whatever you've not accomplished or have accomplished or failures in your life. God can redeem your story.”

#ExamineYourFaith
“James isn't asking whether you've done enough to deserve God's love. We've already discussed that. He's not asking us to keep a scorecard. God knows nobody would ever do enough to earn God's favor. That's not what we're talking about. This message is not meant to cause insecurity in our hearts about salvation. But James does ask us to examine the kind of faith we profess or confess, especially if there's no good deeds along with it.”
