#UrgencyRevealsBelief
“``See, this is not a story about money. Money is just the object that Jesus is use Jesus uses that everybody would have understood. In all of his parables, Jesus uses something to relate it to something the people he's talking to would have understood. Here's the beauty of this. We all still understand money. This is a story about urgency. This is a story about what gets your full attention, what gets your planning, what gets your full energy, and what doesn't. Because here's the truth, and I need you to take a picture of this. I need you to write it down in your bible beside this parable. I need you to get it tattooed on your forearm. Urgency reveals what you actually believe matters in this world.”

#WorldVsEternal
“And if you sit with that for a second and actually think through that, think through what Jesus is saying here. Jesus looked at his followers. Remember, he's talking to his disciples and probably just more than, like, his inner core of disciples, probably a large group of people who are following him. A large group of people who have put their faith and confessed to their faith in him. A large group of people who claim to believe in a kingdom that never ends, in a God who sees everything, in a day of accounting that's actually coming. And this is what he says to them. He says, the world moves with more urgency about things that don't last and don't matter than you do about things that will. The world moves with more urgency about all this earthly stuff than you do about eternal stuff.”

“But we care so much about these eighty five years. I can't be inconvenienced during these eighty five years. I can't give up my time during these eighty five years for something that is eternal, something that lasts forever. One day. This is not a scare tactic. This is fact. One day, the book closes on all of us. Every single one of us. It could be tomorrow. It could be a week from now. It could be fifty years from now. Scripture tells us we're promised today. That's it. We're promised today. And a day is coming where the account gets settled, and the question on that day is not going to be, what were you busy with? How many promotions did you get? How many home runs did your kid hit? How many goals did they score? The question that's going to be asked is what did your busyness reveal about what mattered to you?”

#ActionsNotWords
“Urgency reveals what you actually believe matters. Not what you say you believe matters. Not what you say to me if we stop in the lobby of church on Sunday morning, but what you actually believe. Like deep down inside, underneath all the right answers, God, Jesus, church, bible, holy spirit, pray, read scripture, I love Jesus. You can see it plainly in what gets your urgency and what doesn't. I can look at somebody's life for a few days and be like, yeah, God's a priority in their life. The priority. Eternity is the priority. God's kingdom is the priority.”
