“The love of preeminence, it's not a personality flaw, it's what we look like when we are on the throne of our life. Please hear me in that. Who's on the throne of your life? Every person in this room has a tendency. We're born that way. We want to be on the throne of our life. And the question is whether something or someone has displaced that. And I hope that someone, Jesus Christ, has placed that in your life, has moved into that. Has there been a moment when your life has stopped being about you, about you being the center and you've realized what Jesus Christ has done for you and he has taken that place on the throne of your life? If you're not sure, today is the day to place Christ on the throne of your life.”

“And if the fruit isn't there, if the fruit's not there, if honest reflection tells you that you have a pattern that is always bent inward, always bent toward self versus others. It's sort of a diagnosis. It's a diagnosis that points of what you have and it also points toward the cure that you need. The cure isn't try harder. How's that working for us? We see that all around the world today. People trying harder, people trying to be more religious, trying to do more acts, this thing, that thing. The cure is a new heart. The cure is Jesus Christ says, ye must be born again. Accepting Jesus Christ as our savior. Not reformed or improved, changed. Born again. Saved. And if that hasn't happened, friend no amount of effort on your part will take care of that. You need Jesus Christ as your savior. He died in your place and he changes. He transforms your life and puts you on a new path.”

“Does the life you're living match the hope that you have in it? We live in an age where people are personal branding. Right? You go out on the Internet and you see people that are, they're creating, they're curating an image of who they are. They're, and then you look in their life or you see something that happens and there's no resemblance to what they really are in life. The filter's really good for a time. Demetrius didn't have to curate a presence. It's who he was. It's who he was. He had a report and the reports were given by others, not constructed by him. Friend, you can't write your own report. The only thing you can control is how you're living your life.”

“If you're a person that can't receive correction, can't receive what you're hearing here today, most of us can't hear that from a 12 year old. Yeah. just start to get the hair on the neck starts to go up. No one's gonna tell me. I'm the leader in this home. Whatever it might be going on. Start small. Next time you're wrong about something, something minor, admit it. Just admit it. It's okay. They'll still follow in your life. I was wrong about that. I'm sorry. No qualifications. Well, I did it because of the No. No. No. Just I was wrong and I'm sorry. That muscle of humility, it has to be built. It's like any other muscle. It has to be built. And then it has to be built in the small moments before it ever be in the large moments of life.”
