Truth also reaches into the home, the church, relationships, giving, forgiveness, and service. Jesus becomes the measure, not personal preferences, family customs, or somebody else’s opinion. His kingdom values humility, righteousness, obedience, and leadership that serves instead of chasing status. His commandment calls for love of God, love of neighbor, and love among the church. Love cannot sit across the room holding bitterness and still claim to be following the One who forgives.

The cross becomes the object of affection when Jesus is embraced as both the way and the truth. Jesus calls disciples to deny themselves, take up the cross daily, and lose life for His sake rather than gain the world and lose the soul. His word is reliable, unchanging, and precious. His truth sanctifies, becomes a lamp unto the feet, and lays a foundation on the Rock that rain, floods, and winds cannot shake. Truth is who Jesus is, what His people need, how they must live, and where they are going.
