The hospital image opens up the word. The twilight state becomes a picture of how God works on hidden things. Some things on the inside cannot be reached while a person is fully fighting, controlling, and trying to stop the discomfort. God sometimes puts the soul under spiritual anesthesia, not to destroy it, but to work on what cannot be seen without letting the pain of the moment kill the process.

God blocks the signal. Anesthesia does not mean nothing is happening. It means the pain signal does not reach the brain. In that same way, God has kept some people alive by interrupting what should have convinced the mind, “This will kill you.” The enemy thought the signal would finish the job, but God blocked it.

The doctor’s words, “I’ll see you on the other side,” become a word of confidence. God has done this before. God knows the procedure.
