“Right? In case of the disciples, the the reward given to them wasn't just the fact that they had healings and they had people being raised from the dead and they had demons being sent away and they had people being raised from the dead. The different various things that that that they were given authority to do, but they also had the gospel of Jesus Christ preached to them. That their sins would be forgiven, that they would have eternal life. And not only that, Jesus was saying, if you welcome a disciple, then you're welcoming Jesus. And if you welcome Jesus, you're welcoming God. So, welcoming the disciple, you are welcoming God and it can't get better than that.”

And if you welcome Jesus, you're welcoming God. So, welcoming the disciple, you are welcoming God and it can't get better than that. Right? And God is going to see that they welcomed these disciples and God is going to reward them.”

“And the question for us today is, how are we welcoming disciples? And I'm not talking about strangers. That's a different passage for a different time. I'm talking about how are we welcome welcoming Christians who are not part of this congregation? How are we showing them hospitality? How are we joining with them in partnership in the ministry? And I think we do this in many ways, and I wish we would have a presentation right now from the mission committee of all the things that we support. Because our mission committee is busy every month supporting ministries locally, nationally, and internationally, joining with other believers in ministry.”

“There are rewards when you welcome people. God is giving a reward to different people in different ways. And Jesus is saying that if you give even a cup of cold water to a little one in the name of a disciple, they shall in no wise lose their reward. Now, the little one is a disciple. And when you welcome a disciple, there's going to be a reward given to you.”
