#ShowDontTell
“Now, how would you solve this problem if you were in the shoes of Christ? I mean, there's several ways. You could preach a sermon, but I'll be honest, sermons change some but sermons don't really change us. It's Jesus that changes us. Are you with me? You could go up and sell them you need to be humble, if you're not humble, you're not going to change anything. You could tell them that they need to change, but let's be honest, we've all told people things and how much telling has changed the people around you? Not a lot. So what does Jesus do? He shows by his actions what and who the disciples must become.”

#HumbleLeadership
“There was a problem that Jesus was facing. He was about to die, rise, and then head to heaven and begin the ministry within the holy place of the sanctuary. This was what was directly in front of the king of the universe. But his problem was the men he was about to leave this church in the hands of. were the handpicked disciples, they were going to be the leaders of the church, but they had a problem. They couldn't get over that each one wanted to be the one in charge and each one wanted to be over everyone else. In fact, on their way to the upper room, we're told in the other gospels that on their way to the upper room, the disciples had gotten into an argument about who is the greatest among the 12 of them.”

#ServantKing
“And here's the king of the universe. They know that this is the Messiah and the disciples have forgotten to get someone to wash their feet. They've all been awkwardly looking at each other, who's gonna do it? And then Jesus steps forward and he begins to preach a sermon with his actions and he walks up to Peter or the disciples and he begins to wash their feet. He got to Peter a little bit, he begins to wash their feet. And as he he washes them, you can hear the rumbling of shock going through. Why is the king of the universe washing my feet?”

#LoveIsEnduring
“What does it mean that Jesus loved them to the end? If I just love someone while it's easy, well, that's pretty easy. If I love someone because it's it's comfortable, well, that's what unfortunately a lot of marriages sometimes start off on. Well, it's easy to be around you, it's comfortable with you. Don't get me wrong, when you're in the dating phase, you should be with someone that it's comfortable to be with, someone should say amen. But in the journey of life after marriage, in the journey of life with our friendships, what tests whether the love was genuine that started is what happens when things get tough.”
