#HumbleStrength
“``Far from being weak, humility, it is an expression of incredible strength because it releases me. It frees me from the exhausting race of comparison and competition and allows me just to rest securely in the hands of the God who knows me and loves me and says that I belong to him. When I low no longer have to secretly compare and compete and I'm finally free to to relate to people in a completely different way, As and instead of asking the question, how do I measure up against you? I start asking different questions. How can I love you? How can I serve you? How can I build you up instead of building up myself?”

#NothingToProve
“And then from those comparisons, competition now naturally follows without us even realizing it. Because you see, we feel the need to prove ourselves and we feel the need to defend ourselves and we feel the need to elevate ourselves and we need to we we feel the need to protect ourselves. But folks, humility, it just invites us to a completely different way of relating to people. It frees us from the exhausting game of comparison and competition because our worth is no longer determined by how we measure up against others. You see, when I'm walking humbly, I just remove myself from the game. I I take myself out of the race. I don't know if you're better or if I'm better and frankly, don't care. I I've got nothing to prove to you. I've got nothing to prove to myself. I've got nothing to lose. I've got nothing to fear.”

#TrustNotSelf
“We keep trying to deal with the symptoms while overlooking this root problem, a self clinging way of life that flows out of this distrust in the one who made us and the one who loves us. So in other words, it comes from not living in reality. We're not living in reality. The reality is we were created for life with our creator, this intimate relationship that is built on trust where we know that we know that we know deep in our souls without question, without doubt that we are loved, that he is our protector and he is our provider, he's with us and he's for us and he is always at work for our ultimate well-being and our highest happiness. That is reality. That's what is true. And when you and I align ourselves to that reality, we find true freedom. We find a a deep inner joy and a peace like we've never known before. But to ignore that reality, to live as though everything depends on me and I'm just clinging to self, that's insanity. It's insanity.”

#AbideInChrist
“So you see apart from him on our own, we can do nothing but with him united with Christ through our trust in him and empowered by his spirit, there's nothing we can't do. We are capable and equipped and able to do all things. Walking humbly requires us to cling to those those two truths. Apart from him, I can do nothing, I need him. But with him, I can do all things. So therefore, I rely on him. That's what it is to walk humbly. That's the humble life. I think one of the most humble acts that we can do is to begin every single day remembering that we are branches that need to stay connected to our vine.”

#DependentOnGod
“I mean, walking humbly, it simply means waking up each day and remembering we are not self made. We were made by a God and creator. We are not self sustaining, he sustains us. We are not self sufficient. We might deceive ourselves into thinking, but we are not. The reality is that we are completely and utterly dependent upon God the creator for everything, even our next breath. But at the same time, this almighty, this all powerful creator, he says we are his. We're his. We we belong to him. We're his treasured possession, the old testament says. We're his people. We're his children. So we're known by him, and we're cared for by him, and we're loved by him, and we are held securely in his hands. In his hands. Walking humbly with God, it means waking up every day to to this reality and then choosing to live in light of this reality. Clinging to him, not to myself.”

#ClingToTheVine
“So what if tomorrow morning and every morning for the rest of our lives before our feet even hit the floor, we pictured ourselves as a branch connected to our vine. And then we even just whispered a little prayer. Maybe something like this, Jesus, my creator, apart from you, I can do nothing. I need you. I need you today. But with you, I can do all things. So today, I trust you and I rely on you. Lord Jesus, I choose today to cling to you, not myself. So help me to live in reality today by walking humbly with you.”

#RestoreNotWin
“See, when we are walking humbly, conflict in a relationship is no longer about being right, it's no longer about winning. The most important thing becomes this understanding of one another and then reconciliation. Because humble people are not asking, how do I prove my point? They're asking, how do I restore this relationship? Winning the argument is no longer the goal, understanding and loving the other person is. That's the new goal. This new way of thinking about others, relating humbly to others, Without a doubt, it is sure to bring new levels of freedom within us, peace within us, joy within us, but also between us, among us, between you and me, but in our relationships, freedom, and peace at new levels.”

#FruitsOfHumility
“Now, do you notice the word humility is nowhere on this list? Why why doesn't it talk about the fruit of humility? Because humility is the root from which all these fruits grow. Humility is the root from which all these fruits grow. If we are not walking humbly, these fruits simply cannot grow. It's from our humble dependence on Christ, from walking humbly with our God day after day after day that these fruits grow in our lives and in our character. And we get to experience the gifts of freedom and joy and peace and so much more.”
