#JesusWalkedAmongUs
“``Jesus did not save us from a distance. He came to us. He could've did everything he needed to do from heaven, but he came down where rejected people were, where people who were marginalized were, where people who are struggling was at. He came and walked among us because he knew we needed a role model. did not pick an exclusive neighborhood. He did not look for a, a high end house. He did not enter a row in the best hospital. He did not drive the best stallion, but he rode on a lonely donkey. He came in a lonely position which lets us know that if we're people are ever going to see us, they got to see humility and see our commitment to working with those who are less fortunate.”

#ServiceRequiresSacrifice
“And I won't tell y'all that service is gonna be easy because service is not easy. Service requires sacrifice. you gonna serve in the lord's armor, you got to sacrifice and and it's going to cost you something. It's going to cost you time. It's going to cost you sometimes being inconvenient. You're going to be hurt but Jesus served despite of it all and he sacrificed everything that he had to serve somebody like me and you.”

#JesusPaidItAll
“Jesus came to serve. He he he came and served and he gave and he gave us all because grace was not free for us because Jesus paid it all. Forgiveness was not free because Jesus suffered. Salvation was not free because Jesus paid it all. And because Jesus paid it all, you ought to at least try to be available sometime to serve somebody else.”

#ServeInHumility
“And if god called you to serve, your service may look different than your actual secular job. You see, I've always sat behind desks and always did various different things like that, but the lord called me to serve, so I served as the trash man. And even today at this church, oftentimes, I'll pick up the trash and take it out. Sometimes, people make their title more important than service. Because I've been the places where pastors won't they'll wanna take the church, the trash out because guess what? It's beneath their status. But I found out y'all that if you live long enough, god will show you the benefits of doing stuff that people do not always want to do. So there's something about serving god and watching what god does to you. People will put you on a platform, but god will put you in purpose. People will recognize you for how you do what you do for them but god will recognize you for what you do for others. You see, every single thing that you that's to be done in this church has a purpose, and it all begins with serving. Amen.”

#ShowUpToServe
“And the first type of waffle house Christian is the one that is available. Jesus said, for even the son of man came. Cain means that he showed up and the word was made flesh and dwell among them. Christian work starts with showing up regardless of what it looks like. God came. He did not merely send somebody. He showed up. He came even though it was painful. He came because we needed somebody.”

#BeAvailableToServe
“You ought to be available to serve folks in the storm sometimes. You ought to be available when it's raining sometimes. to drive over and pick them up or take them a generator. You ought to be available when someone says they're hungry and and you have the resources and the means. You ought to be available to take them some food or or buy them something or give them. You ought to be available when your closet is filled with prayers that you can't wear no more. That that that tags are on them and you never put them on. You outgrew them before you got a chance to take the tags off. You ought to be available to churn those people by giving up some space in your plausible because I declare to you today when you're available for god's people, god is available for you.”

#BringYourBurdensToJesus
“they know something about people coming in when their lives have been scattered. Dreams have been scattered. Families have been scattered. That they know something about when when you're being smothered, smothered in grief, smothered in death, smothered in anxiety, and you've been covered. You're covered in shame and covered in mistakes and and covered in pressure. They they know something about the the chump in life that, you know, your life has been diced with disappointment, peppered with criticism, tapped with burdens, and you still manage to find your way inside of it. Christians in a waffle house, bring your scattered life to Jesus. Bring your smothered heart. Bring your covered pain. Bring your pieces. Bring your pressure. Bring your burdens to the lord.”

#ServeWhereCalled
“Imagine if if we we we didn't take the attitude of James and John in this book. Imagine if if we we we were looking for the best seat in the house but only to serve. Imagine we decided that, you know, Hunter, I'm just gonna serve wherever god needs me at. Imagine if we just use our willing hands to serve. Willing heart to serve. Imagine if we just say, lord, show me where you want me to work at. Every single person that is in this church, that's a part of this church, that showed up at this church, has a mindset to do something for god. And my challenge to you there is, start serving you with capacity. Amen. Whatever god has called you to do, go do it. Whatever god has created you for, go do it.”
