#WeeklyWorship
“How how how many days between those gatherings? Every seven days. Okay? Why does he know? Because we're forgetting a lot, and we need to come back together over and over. Do you make it a priority to be in every assembly? That is a picture of our spiritual life. Is meeting with God's people just something I will do on occasion or when it is convenient to me? Or do I make that a priority? I can fix that forgetting curve in certain ways. I can write it down. I can connect thoughts to that which is meaningful. I can apply it immediately, but I still need to be reminded over and over again because as a human being, am very forgetful.”

#BeatTheForgettingCurve
“what is the condition of your spiritual life? I think that's what Solomon was actually get getting to with this in in in this metaphor that he in this broken down wall in this destroyed vineyard. There's a rule that's called the 90% and it is attached to the forgetting curve. Anybody know about forgetting? You've already forgot what you what you knew about it. Right? You know why? Because test after test have been shown that what I say today, you will forget 90% of in seven days. We forget when we hear something, of that will leave in about seven days. Now, I don't think this is by accident that God looks at each of us and says, I want you to gather. How how how many days between those gatherings? Every seven days. Okay? Why does he know? Because we're forgetting a lot, and we need to come back together over and over. Do you make it a priority to be in every assembly?”

#FixItNow
“You like to put off things? You like to look at life and say, well, I'll I'll get to that later? It's easy to do, and sometimes it feels kinda good, doesn't it? The problem is the longer you wait, usually the worse the problem is. I say that about car maintenance. I'll see something on my vehicle, and I'll say, you know, I could fix that right now. I'll tell you what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna wait until it's in horrible shape and it costs 10 times as much because that's a lot of times what happens. And so Solomon is looking at this situation and as the wisest man in the world, he says, you know what? I'm gonna record this because here is a picture of life and what you don't wanna do.”

#NeglectedFoundations
“``The wall around it was capable of protecting that vineyard. And as we look at this vineyard and this rock wall that is destroyed, notice that they're doing something. The wall is doing something. It's laying all over the place. It's not doing nothing, it's doing something. And the vineyard, again, is also not doing nothing, it's doing something. It's growing thorns, and it's growing weeds, and it's growing thistles. But neither the wall nor the vineyard is doing what it was designed what they were intended for. You know, in my life, I'm always doing something.”

#DailySpiritualDiet
“And the one thing I cannot be forgetful of, is God and my spiritual connection to him. So what do I need to do daily? Well, I need to eat daily. Right? We don't forget to do that normally. I've heard people occasionally say I forgot to eat. I don't know how you do that. Maybe you can do that. I've never forgotten to eat. But I need to daily feed my soul with bible reading. I need to daily cultivate field of experience with God that is prayer. And I need to be here every time the saints meet so that my spiritual condition is not one full of weeds and broken walls, but built up in the love and the grace of God and the care of my fellow Christians until my world, my spiritual world is a beautiful beautiful landscape built by God.”

#StewardshipAndCharacter
“God wants us to take care of what we have, but what Solomon sees here and what Solomon wants you and I to see reaches far and beyond the physical property that we have. We've been made stewards of this world, and God wants us to take care of the material blessings that he's given given us. There's no question about that. God is interested in our our time, and our talent, as well as our treasure, but what he's really wanting in all of this is to cultivate our character. You know, who who are we becoming? And as Solomon looks at this state of affairs with this broken down wall in this field that's just in complete disrepair, he can see a lot about the person, that owned it. We don't know what we can say about this man entirely, but one thing's for sure, he was simply wrong by neglect.”

#ProcrastinationCosts
“You know, who who are we becoming? And as Solomon looks at this state of affairs with this broken down wall in this field that's just in complete disrepair, he can see a lot about the person, that owned it. We don't know what we can say about this man entirely, but one thing's for sure, he was simply wrong by neglect. He was someone who was responsible for a situation, and his attitude apparently was, well, I'll get to it tomorrow. And then when tomorrow came, I'll get to it again tomorrow. And so, procrastination was that which characterized his life until that which was left was just in tatters.”

#FaithFilledHome
“what is the condition of your home? I hear people say this all the time, my vibe is off. I didn't talk like this even in the eighties, but I hear kids now say, you know, what's your vibe? I saw this book the other day and I thought it was an interesting way to talk about spirituality at home. The faith, the faith filled home vibes, eight practical ways to build a godly home. There's tons of books like this. You can fill your shelves. I would just suggest you read the book of Proverbs. But what's the vibe in your home when it comes to spiritual matters? How do people feel about you in regard to God and your connection with God? Would people look at you and say that is a godly man or woman? And they don't necessarily have to explain why they know that, that's just the vibe that you give off and people know that. You're different. The book of Proverbs makes it clear that the home is a field that we must be constantly cultivating.”
