1. "Life is cheap. Especially when life might be an obstacle. That life might be an obstacle or a hindrance to my perception or my perceived well-being, my perceived happiness, my perceived joy in life. When somebody... When somebody else's life gets in the way, in our culture, in our world, it's okay. We just devalue that life and set it aside."

2. "It should be infused all throughout our entire culture that life is a precious gift of God. Already, I mean, the police hadn't even cleared all the scene and gotten all the kids reunited. They haven't even been reunited with their parents yet, and already, politicians are saying, well, we've got to go in for gun control. Well, I'm not interested necessarily in engaging in that debate. I'm not an expert on the Second Amendment. But I do know this much, that guns haven't changed."

3. "We should instead value life. We should hold that life is precious, a precious gift from God that ought to be preserved, that ought to be encouraged, that ought to be valued among us, especially those of us in the church. Now, let's define some terms quickly. Murder. What is murder? Well, it's a specific word in the Old Testament, and it means the willful destruction of an innocent human life. That's the basic meaning of murder."

4. "You do not have a right to dispose of your own life. That right does not belong to you. Why? Because of this. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit who is in you whom you have received from God? You are not your own. You were bought with a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies. You're your body. You're your life. Ultimately, it belongs to God."

5. "He wants you to experience an abundant, hope-filled, joy-filled life. And there are lots of circumstances. And there's sin that you've committed. There's sin that others have committed. And then there's just the general brokenness of the world in which we live that can rob us of the joy that God wants us to have. But God's not giving up. He's not giving up on you. He loves you. He wants you to know His peace and His rest and His hope and His goodness."

6. "We want to value life. We want to support life. We want to encourage life. Oh, by the way, as Christians, as we hold on to our life, we want to encourage life. Our ethics, the truth that's been handed down, the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints, these ethics, these haven't changed. Then we need to be people who are willing to stand up, not only to say something's good or something's wrong, but we need to be willing to do something about it."

7. "Jesus died on the cross. He absorbed the power of sin and death and defeated sin and death in his own body. And then God raised him. God the Father raised him from the dead. So he went from dehumanizing because he was the victim of the ultimate death. The ultimate dehumanization. The ultimate discounting. When somebody is murdered, they say you're worth zero. Jesus was worth zero to the Roman Empire. And so they put him to death."

8. "Jesus said, You don't even have to follow through with the actual act. Because you've already done it in your heart. And God is the one who judges the intentions of the heart. And he gives us a couple of examples. He said, Don't say raka. Well, have you ever called raka? Anybody called anybody raka lately? No? That's because that's an ancient, that's an old word. It's an Aramaic word."

9. "Jesus doesn't think you're worthless. Matter of fact, he thinks you're worth so much that he gave his life in exchange for your life. He valued your life even above his own life. He went to the cross and he carried your shame and your guilt and my guilt and my sin and your sin. And the sin of the whole world. Because he valued us so much. What motivates that kind of sacrifice? What motivates that kind of action?"

10. "Life is a precious gift. We ought never, ever to forget it. And your life is so precious to God that he was willing to come in the flesh and endure the pain and the suffering of the cross. To the price for your life. That's how precious your life is. But not just your life. Every person you will ever lock eyes with, every person you ever interact with on the phone, on the internet, wherever it is, is a person of eternal value and infinite worth to God."
