When we step out in faith to share our story of what Jesus has done in our lives, we experience a joy that goes beyond fleeting happiness. This joy is rooted in the assurance that our names are written in the book of life and that we are participating in God's work. Even when the outcome is unknown, as in the story of David and the doorman, there is a peace and satisfaction that comes from obedience to Christ's call. This joy is not dependent on circumstances but is a fruit of the Spirit that sustains us through both challenges and celebrations. [37:19]
Luke 10:17, 20 (ESV)
The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” ... Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
Reflection: When was the last time you shared your faith story, even in a small way? How did it affect your sense of joy and peace, and what might God be inviting you to do next to experience that joy again?
As we share our faith, our hearts are transformed to love those who do not yet know Jesus. This love is not limited to our family and friends but extends to acquaintances, coworkers, and even those we might consider enemies. The desire for others to experience salvation grows within us, echoing Paul’s longing for his own people to be saved. This passion compels us to reach out, pray, and act so that others might come to know the hope we have in Christ. [39:18]
Romans 10:1 (ESV)
Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.
Reflection: Who in your life do you find it hardest to love or pray for? Ask God to give you a deeper compassion for that person and consider one way you can show Christ’s love to them this week.
When we openly share our stories of God’s faithfulness and saving acts, we are not only encouraging others but also giving praise and glory to God. Speaking of His righteousness, love, and help in the assembly—whether in church, small groups, or daily interactions—reminds us and others that salvation is God’s work, not our own. As we point to what Jesus has done, we decrease and He increases, and our lives become a living testimony of His grace. [41:19]
Psalm 40:9-10 (ESV)
I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; behold, I have not restrained my lips, as you know, O Lord. I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart; I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness from the great congregation.
Reflection: In what setting this week can you share a specific story of God’s faithfulness in your life, either with a group or one-on-one, as an act of praise?
Obeying the call to share our faith aligns our lives with God’s will and the Great Commission. Jesus commands us to go and make disciples of all nations, and when we do so, we are living out the prayer, “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done.” This is not just a task for pastors or missionaries but for every follower of Christ. As we share our stories and invite others into God’s family, we participate in His redemptive plan for the world. [43:00]
Matthew 28:19 (ESV)
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Reflection: What is one step you can take this week to intentionally align your actions with God’s will to make disciples—perhaps by inviting someone to church, sharing your testimony, or praying for an opportunity to speak about Jesus?
When we share the gospel, we offer others the truth that sets them free and opens the door to salvation. In a world where truth is often seen as relative, the message of Jesus stands as the unchanging way, truth, and life. As we proclaim the good news, we invite others to experience forgiveness, freedom from sin, and the hope of eternal life. This is the greatest gift we can offer, and it is available to all who believe and are born again by the Spirit. [48:18]
John 8:32 (ESV)
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
Reflection: Who in your life needs to hear the truth of Jesus today? Pray for them by name and ask God to give you the courage and opportunity to share the hope of Christ with them.
Today, we paused to honor and pray for our veterans, remembering the freedoms we enjoy and the sacrifices made to secure them. Yet, even as we cherish these earthly freedoms, we are reminded of the greater freedom found in Christ—the freedom from sin, the freedom to worship, and the promise of eternal life. This freedom is not to be hoarded, but shared. The call to share our faith is not a seasonal campaign, but a lifelong journey, a daily invitation to participate in God’s mission until heaven is full.
Reflecting on Romans 10, we see the urgency and beauty of sharing the good news. How can anyone believe unless they hear? And how will they hear unless someone is sent? Each of us is called to be that “someone.” Through a story about a church member, David, who shared Christ with a hotel doorman in L.A., we see that sharing our faith is often about simple, relational steps—listening, caring, offering a Bible, and inviting someone to discover Jesus for themselves. The outcome may be unknown, but the act itself is an act of obedience and love.
Sharing our story brings profound benefits. It fills us with joy that is deeper than happiness, a joy that endures through trials. It grows our love for those who do not yet know Christ, stirring a passion to see friends, family, and even strangers experience salvation. As we share, we praise God, making His saving acts known in our community and beyond. We align ourselves with God’s will, living out the Great Commission and embodying the prayer, “Thy will be done.” Ultimately, we glorify God, bearing fruit that points others to Him.
But the benefits are not just for us. When we share, we offer others the gift of truth in a world confused about what is real. We open the door to salvation, inviting them into the greatest gift—life with Christ now and forever. The legacy of faith is passed on, as seen in the story of Rick Warren’s father, whose dying words were, “Reach one more for Jesus.” This is our call: to reach one more, wherever we are, until heaven is full.
Romans 10:14-15 (ESV) — > How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
Matthew 28:19 (ESV) — > Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
John 8:32 (ESV) — > And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
We're finishing our series in this season entitled, Until Heaven is Full. But it's not finishing a series. This is something that we're going to live into. That we're called to live into. That we need to live into day in and day out. [00:28:45] (18 seconds) #LivingTheCall
You can be aggressive, but that's not what we've talked about. We've talked about kind of building relationships, sharing what Jesus has done for you, right? And so in that Bible, he wrote a note, and he said, I hope this Bible is a blessing to you to speak into your life about God's kingdom. [00:33:56] (22 seconds) #KingdomBlessings
The benefit, as I taught with David about this for himself, was just a sense of peace and joy that he could take a step of faith and do what Jesus wants us to do, to do what God said do. And so he found peace in that. He found joy in that. The benefit for the man he gave the Bible to, David may never know. May never know. But at the same time, he's given that man the opportunity to give his life to Jesus, to claim Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life for his own life, and given him the opportunity for salvation and eternity. I've seen atheists come to faith in Jesus Christ. I've seen agnostics come to faith in Jesus Christ. I've seen people who, they didn't have a sense one way or the other, but they committed their life to Jesus. I've seen people who have been in church all their life catch on fire for the Lord, but through the power of the Holy Spirit. And their lives were never the same. If we're going to love our neighbor and love one another as Jesus has loved us, we need to share the good news of the kingdom of God with others. And so we gain not only more joy, we gain more of a passion. We want to see our family members. We want to see our good friends. We want to see our co-workers. We want to see our enemies, the acquaintances we run into in heaven with us, right? Until heaven is full. [00:40:43] (33 seconds) #PassionForHeaven
When we share our faith story, one of the benefits is we're aligning our will, what we feel is important, with God's will, which is for us to go and make disciples of all nations. So important for us. We pray it in the Lord's Prayer, right? Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done. Right? And so we're aligning our lives. We're living into that prayer. We're living into our call as disciples. [00:43:14] (37 seconds) #AlignWithGodsWill
When we share what He has done for us, when we share what Jesus has done to, I was dirty, I was sinful, I was running, I felt there was no God, I was whatever it may be for you in your story, right? When we share that then I encountered Jesus, and He breathed life into me, He wiped away all the dirt and the messiness, and He's continuing to shape and mold me and give me life. And I know, without a doubt, because our hope is in Scripture, in God's promises, I have certainty that I'll have eternal life with Him for all eternity. [00:45:15] (46 seconds) #JesusCleansesAll
In a world that challenges truth, that throws out and says, truth is anything you want it to be, right? We share the truth. Jesus says, I am the truth, right? And so, as we share what God is doing and has done for us, we share the truth. [00:48:06] (19 seconds) #TruthInJesus
When we share our faith story, we open the opportunity. We're given an invitation for the greatest gift that ever was, for sin to be taken away, washed away through the blood of the Lamb, for eternal life to be gained with Jesus, our Lord and Savior, for life on this side of heaven to be given through the power of the Holy Spirit. May we never take for granted the benefits of sharing our story. [00:51:34] (32 seconds) #GiftOfSalvation
Friends, may we seek to reach one more for Jesus. May we strive to save one more for Jesus. May we reach one more for Jesus in our family. May we reach one more for Jesus in our friendship circles. May we reach one more for Jesus if we're in a hotel in L.A. with the doorman. May we save one more for Jesus in a restaurant with our favorite waiter or waitress. May we work to share our faith story. Not because it saves us. That's been accomplished by what Jesus did. But may we work to save one more for Jesus. To reach one more for Jesus until heaven is full. Amen. Until heaven is full. [00:57:04] (62 seconds) #ReachOneMore
