True security is found only in Jesus, not in the shifting sands of this world.
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”
—Matthew 7:24-27 (ESV)
Reflection: What is one area of your life where you’ve been relying on something other than Jesus for security? How can you intentionally shift your trust to Him today?
[38:29]
We are secure because Christ has caused us to be born again into His family.
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”
—John 1:12-13 (NASB)
Reflection: In what ways does knowing you are a child of God change how you face today’s challenges?
[45:10]
Our future is secure because God has reserved an imperishable inheritance for us in heaven.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.”
—1 Peter 1:3-4 (ESV)
Reflection: When you think about your eternal inheritance, how does it affect your perspective on the worries and uncertainties you face on earth?
[52:17]
God’s power shields and keeps us right now, not just in the future.
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”
—John 10:27-29 (ESV)
Reflection: What is one fear or anxiety you need to entrust to God’s powerful protection today, believing He holds you securely?
[01:00:44]
God’s security calls us to turn from sin and trust Him, not our own understanding.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
—Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV)
Reflection: Is there a specific sin or self-reliant mindset God is prompting you to surrender today? What step can you take to repent and trust Him more fully?
[01:07:55]
In a world filled with uncertainty, shifting values, and constant change, there is only one true foundation that never fails: Jesus Christ. Life often feels like it’s built on shifting sand—our health, our finances, our relationships, and even our sense of purpose can all be shaken in an instant. But for those who are in Christ, there is a security that transcends every storm and every doubt. Jesus’ words remind us that the wise build their lives on the rock, and that rock is Christ Himself. No matter what comes—rain, floods, or winds—those who are rooted in Him will not fall.
This security is not something we earn or maintain by our own strength. It is a gift, rooted in Christ’s finished work. We are born again into God’s family, not by our own merit, but by His mercy and grace. Just as a child inherits from their family, so we receive an imperishable, undefiled inheritance kept in heaven for us. Nothing in this broken world can touch or diminish what God has reserved for His children. Our future is secure, not because of our faithfulness, but because of Christ’s faithfulness and His unbreakable promise.
But this security is not just for the future; it is for the present as well. God’s power shields and protects us right now, even as we walk through the challenges and temptations of daily life. Our salvation is a past event, a present reality, and a future hope. We are justified, being sanctified, and will one day be glorified. Even when we struggle with sin or feel insecure, God’s grip on us is stronger than our grip on Him. He is at work, pulling us back, pruning away what doesn’t belong, and inviting us to rest in His promises.
If you find yourself feeling insecure in your relationship with Christ, consider whether you are leaning on your own understanding, allowing unconfessed sin to take root, or perhaps have never truly trusted Jesus as your Savior. The invitation is open: find your security in Christ alone. He is holy forever, and His grip on you is unbreakable. Rest in the assurance that nothing in this world can separate you from the love and security found in Him.
1 Peter 1:1-5 (ESV) — > Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,
> To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
> according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood:
> May grace and peace be multiplied to you.
> Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
> to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,
> who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
We are secure only, only because of Christ's work. We live in this shifting sand world. We live in this difficulty. And sometimes we're like, we need a place to start. We need, we need a clear idea of a direction to go. And we need a concept how to get there. Well, the reality of the place to start is with Jesus Christ and what he has done in our life, how we are born again and out of his work in our life of how he is, he has chosen to work in our life. He has caused us to be born again, that we are only secure. If Christ has done the securing in our life, right? [00:46:10] (37 seconds) #securedbychristswork
God created the world in six days. He could have done it in a moment, but he did took six days. He's been working on these mansions for 2000 years. You follow me? If he's been working that long, do you think he's going to miss out and not providing it for us? If he has sent his son, Jesus Christ to die on a cross for our sins and rise again to the grave that he, he valued us so much to do that. And he started preparing for a place for us to be. And do you think that that's going to just slip his mind that, you know, we, we, we're not going to receive that our future is secure because this inheritance, this good inheritance, it is beyond the reach of the brokenness of this sin-cursed world. We are protected by God and his power who has more power than God right? Are we saying that what goes on in this world, that it has more power than God, that it supersedes what God is doing in our life? He's God. He's protecting us through faith. That is a receiving. We're trusting Jesus to keep us. We're trusting him. It's not because of our faith. It's through faith. [00:59:59] (29 seconds) #justifiedbygracealone
If we are in Christ, you and I who are sinners, really good at sinning, we are declared innocent before God, and nothing can ever change that. We are justified, as if we had never sinned, as if we had always obeyed God, we are seen as holy and righteous before God. [01:03:12] (18 seconds) #becominggodintendedbyfaith
If you're here right now and you're like I don't really feel secure in Christ there's only three reasons that I can think of from the Bible that you may not feel secure in Christ part of it is you may be leaning on your own understanding you may be leaning on the world the Bible says that we are to trust in the Lord with all your heart not lean on our own understanding in all our ways in everything in everything we are to acknowledge him as Lord and he will direct or make our path straight. [01:06:07] (34 seconds) #jesusgripkeepsussecure
He will save you into a relationship with him that by his power you are secure and this world has no security that can touch it there's nothing greater there's nothing more and i just pray if you don't have that security you'll find it in jesus this morning. [01:12:30] (25 seconds)
