#CalledNotQualified
“We measure our level of Christianity by certain standards, by certain qualification. And bible reading is one of them. But it's interesting that Jesus actually calls us and invites us, not because we're qualified. This is, by the way, the probably the theme of my message today in continuing to the Come, Follow Me series. I am and you are invited not because you're qualified. You are invited because you're called, and it's the invitation that qualifies you.”

#PurposeOverPast
“And Jesus says to him, get up, I will make you fishers of men. He doesn't tell you, I am disqualifying you because of who you are. I'm disqualifying because I know what you've done, because I know what you've been thinking. I know what you've been watching. I know what you've been doing when no one else has seen. But I've got a future for you. I've got a purpose for you.”

#GiveItToJesus
“Where are you missing the mark? And it's not to condemn you. It is so that like Peter had that encounter with the son of God and gave that to him and received his destiny in exchange. Oh, no. Come with me. I'll make you fisher a man. Because it's very easy to follow and walk alongside with Jesus when you're light. But if you're carrying a heavy bag, it's very hard to go far. You may be able to take five or 10 steps, but how long will you last? It's not about I'm a bad person, but it's about I want to give this to Jesus because I want it to be light.”

#SoulsOverSuccess
“I believe there was that moment of encounter for Peter and that moment of revelation where Jesus almost showed to Peter a glimpse into the spirit to follow to leave this monetary value to follow something unseen, something impractical and untouchable, to just be fishes of men. He didn't say, I want you to leave it all because I'm gonna make you powerful. I'm gonna make you rich because he's already made him rich. I'm gonna make you famous. I'm gonna fix your identity crisis. People are gonna respect you. He just says, I'll make you fishes of men. What's the the catch again? Where's the trade off? I think it's because Jesus showed Peter the value of a human soul.”
