Mark places Mark 5 right on the heels of Mark 4, and that matters. Jesus does not accidentally end up on the Sea of Galilee in the middle of the night. The Sea of Galilee sits low, way down in that pressure bowl, and the storm does not surprise Jesus. The winds and waves may terrify the boat, but they do not catch Christ off guard.

I don't know what he's up to and yet still he invites me into the boat with him. He invites me to come on this journey. Because when we get to the other side, there's gonna be some great things that I need you to participate in, but this storm is what is necessary for your faith.
