#FaithInTheBoat
“``Today, my message to you is there is something on the other side, but it needs your faithfulness in this boat in order to accomplish that. It needs your recognition that though you are frustrated by Jesus' silence, even frustrated by the fact that Jesus may even be sleeping, God is with you and he trusts that you got this because he's got you. So anyone who feels like you've been drowning in this low pressure storm, anxiety or grief or financial strain or relational, chaos, I just want to be clear to you. Jesus hasn't abandoned your boat.”

#EnoughFaithForStorms
“What if that's the highest compliment from god that he fully trusts you, resting in the confidence that he has confidence in your spiritual stamina to handle this conflict. Okay? I'm just gonna call it out. I don't think I have the spiritual stamina. I think that sometimes we think we don't have the spiritual stamina. And if we look at the disciples, you can also conclusively say they didn't have the spiritual stamina, but God still believes that we do. So the only conclusion that I can come to is this tiny little bit of spiritual stamina that I have is enough to take me through the storm. And whatever little spiritual stamina that you feel you have, I think the word is saying today that it's enough to take you through the storm.”

#JustGetInTheBoat
“I think that we think we have to scale peaks of maturity. think that we think we have to arrive at some kind of spiritual plateau in order to have the kind of credible faith that helps us to navigate life. Jesus simply asks us to be willing to get in the boat. Whether you fully believe that he can do it or not. To me, that's one of the hardest things about Christianity, that I don't always know what God is up to. I wish I did, but I don't. I don't know what he's up to and yet still he invites me into the boat with him. He invites me to come on this journey. He knows the storm is going to happen and I don't even know why he has full confidence in me. This God has full confidence that this tiny little bit of faith that I have is enough to carry me over.”

#StormsTrainBelievers
“Whether this guy's been brutally banished or he was put there in that community by someone or by himself, I don't think it really matters. I want you to understand the intensity of what takes place. Storm, land on the other side, crazy guy starts running towards them. This is the dynamic I want you to understand. We think that the thing is the storm. We think that the greatest pain is the storm or the conclusive experience that is going to change us forever is the storm. But what if the storm is merely the training ground for something that God is preparing for you on the other side? What if the storm creates believers out of unbelievers so that when they get to the other side, we're going to deal with some crazy stuff. We're gonna need some serious belief to deal with that. And the only way that we can do that is to develop strong, firm, foundational belief in the current storms that you're going through.”

#SilenceIsAffirmation
“His silence is his supreme affirmation. He knows what is put side you, and he knows you are going to survive the descent and survive the asset as well. So today, as we dock in and we get to the other side of our faith experiences, whatever they may be, may you continue to trust in this same Jesus who sent you out here with intentionality in the first place, and he's gonna carry you through onto the next chapter.”

#JesusTrustsYou
“Full confidence. Otherwise, I suspect he would be eyes open, super vigilant, and just watching to see when he needs to step in to save the moment. But this Jesus sleeps. What if Jesus makes an affirming silence in our lives because he has fully equipped us to handle the storms that we go through? I don't interpret it that way. When I get silence from Jesus, it's not affirming to me. My immediate conclusions is, why have you forsaken me, Lord? My immediate conclusions is, when are you gonna step in and rescue me, Lord? But I feel like this story is inviting us into a new kind of relationship with Jesus where where Jesus wants you to know, you got this.”

#LeanIntoBelief
“And I think that's the realization that we've got to come to. Again and again and again. Every time we descend and go into these moments where we struggle, I feel like God wants us to come to that realization. Not because in that moment, he wants to wrap around us and says, you you just got such little faith. No. No. No. I think God is like Sam. I've got something for you on the other side, but I need you to get to this place of belief for me. Because when we get to the other side, there's gonna be some great things that I need you to participate in, but this storm is what is necessary for your faith. So I need you to lean in and recognize that I am your God, and I have got you. I have got you, and you have nothing to worry about.”

#GodStaysWithYou
“Oh, and I begged God to take me out of some storms. I have begged God to take me out of some storms, but he has kept me there. Not because he has some kind of evil intention to put me through some difficulty, but because my god has great plans for me, and my god has great plans for you too. This god loves us so much that he'll take our prayers, receive them, and love back on us while staying with us in the boats.”
