Unity in Mission: Ambassadors of Reconciliation

Devotional

Sermon Summary

Sermon Clips

We are not in competition with one another; rather, we are a team working together to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. It's easy to fall into the trap of criticizing other churches, but we must remember that we are all part of the same body, striving to build each other up and encourage one another in our shared mission. [00:06:12]

The story of the life-saving station serves as a reminder not to lose sight of our mission. We must not become complacent or inward-focused, forgetting our purpose to be a light in the world. Our purpose is to give everyone an accurate picture of God and to share the message of reconciliation that He has entrusted to us. [00:06:15]

2 Corinthians 5 reminds us that God has reconciled us to Himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. This means that we are called to be ambassadors for Christ, representing Him in our words and actions. We have the responsibility to share the message that God no longer counts our sins against us because of what Jesus did on the cross. [00:09:26]

As ambassadors, we must be mindful of how we represent God. Our conduct should reflect the love and grace that He has shown us. We are called to implore others to be reconciled to God, understanding that we cannot control their response, but we can faithfully deliver the message. [00:20:26]

The urgency of this mission cannot be overstated, as we never know how much time we or others have. In closing, I urge anyone who has not yet accepted this gift of reconciliation to do so today. God has done everything on His part; now it is up to us to accept His forgiveness and enter into a relationship with Him. [00:31:01]

We are here to give every single person in our community an accurate picture of God. We want everyone to get this and understand this God and to remember that, you know what, that's our function, that's our purpose, this is why we exist. And when we forget that we are on a mission, this place is going to fall apart. [00:11:40]

God reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. So now that I've done my part, what I'm giving you is, I need you to go to the people and explain that to them so that on their end they're still not at enmity with me and that they accept the forgiveness. [00:14:16]

We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. You see that God, how does God speak to the people on the Earth? Through us. That word is it literally means that we are the ones that come alongside these people. God is not going to shout today. [00:20:26]

God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. It says that God made Him who knew no sin. You see, Jesus paid for our sins on the cross. Now, why couldn't God have just taken anyone? [00:32:23]

The message is that, hey, you were guilty, you sinned against this God, but Jesus already paid for your penalty. That's a message. God loved you even though you sinned against Him, and Jesus paid for it, so He doesn't count that against you anymore if you believe in His Son. [00:16:08]

We implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. Paul's begging, would you please be reconciled? And so I said to this girl, man, I just, I care about you. I know I don't know you that well, but I really want you to be right when you come before God. [00:24:34]

God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. It says that God made Him who knew no sin. You see, Jesus paid for our sins on the cross. Now, why couldn't God have just taken anyone? [00:32:23]
