Tychicus will tell you all about my activities, others when he comes bearing this letter. He is a beloved brother and a faithful Minister and a fellow slave in the Lord whom I have sent to you for this very purpose that you may know the things concerning us and that he may encourage your hearts. [00:00:26]

Paul was committed to Gathering new people onto his team, probably for both the shared work and training for future work committed to camaraderie committed to teamwork, committed to Shared life in ministry as powerful and as independent a character as Paul was oh how he loved teamwork how he loved camaraderie. [00:04:19]

He is a brother and so I love him he is a a faithful he's a a minister to me this diakonos here is like a a household a table waiter and he's faithful he's been a good partner to me and then he identifies him as a fellow slave in other words he's not Paul's slave they both together are soon fellow slave of the Lord in the Lord. [00:05:15]

My activities things concerning us and that he may encourage your heart so if we ask the question why Paul do you want a faithful Minister a brother and a fellow slave to tell the church about your Affairs your activities the things concerning you why why does that matter why would you even mention that or bring that up that that's the goal for them to know about you Paul. [00:06:35]

Paul had such an amazing view of Divine Providence that he would not fail to interpret his imprisonment as a stepping stone in the Providence of God for Christ for the advancement of the Gospel by Christ becoming known and other ways here's the way he put it in in second Timothy remember Jesus Christ risen from the dead The Offspring of David as preached in my gospel. [00:09:07]

Onesimus is a runaway slave from colassi and he was converted by Paul in prison so let's let's look at that here's philimon so phiman is a member of the church at colassi he had a slave named onesmus onesimus runs away I appeal to you fiman for my child onesimus who whose father I became in my imprisonment. [00:10:37]

I am sending him back to you sending my very heart that you might have him back forever no longer as a slave but more than a slave a beloved brother especially to me but how much more to you both in the flesh and in the Lord so onesimus now instead of being called a slave which he could have he called tius a slave he calls him faithful and beloved brother. [00:11:08]

The slave has become your brother the whole church this true the church not just femon Paul is doing what he preached back in chapter 3 verse 11 here in the church there is neither there is not Greek or Jew circumcised or uncircumcised Barbarian cian slave or free but Christ is all and in all he is your beloved brother. [00:12:06]

Onesimus is not only a brother loved and faithful he is now a trusted witness alongside tius to tell them in very encouraging ways what has happened to Paul. [00:13:06]

Paul's commitment to teamwork is evident in his relationship with Tychicus, whom he values as a brother, a faithful minister, and a fellow servant. Tychicus is sent to inform the Colossians about Paul's activities and to encourage their hearts. Despite Paul's imprisonment, he views his situation as an opportunity for the advancement of the gospel, demonstrating his profound trust in God's providence. [00:00:42]

The presence of Tychicus and Onesimus as bearers of Paul's message serves as a testament to the unity and diversity within the early church. Their roles as trusted witnesses highlight the importance of shared ministry and the encouragement that comes from knowing and supporting one another in the faith. [00:12:45]

Paul's ministry was marked by a commitment to teamwork and camaraderie. He gathered a diverse group of partners from different cities and cultures, reflecting the unity and shared mission within the body of Christ. This diversity in ministry partners highlights the importance of working together to advance the gospel, transcending cultural and social barriers. [00:03:39]
