#FatherWelcomesAll
“Has the father changed? Has the father acted differently to one sinner to the other? No. His actions are the same. Whether it's the son who takes his inheritance and runs off to a far country and then realizes his foolishness and returns home or whether it's the son standing outside saying, refuse to go in. The father comes and meets both of his sons and says, won't you just come in and enjoy my goodness and enjoy my table and enjoy your family? He goes out and meets both of them.”

#HowWillYouRespond
“There's no resolution here. It's open ended. And he leaves it open ended because Jesus is asking the scribes and the pharisees how they will respond. It's a call to them. It's a call to us. How are you going to respond? Will they continue to stand outside and miss out on the kingdom of God and grumble to themselves as though they are self justified? Or will they come into the house that was promised to them? Will they sit at the table of their father and enjoy the goodness of their father with their brother who is alive?”
