Jesus Christ was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power, going about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. His ministry was marked by compassion and authority over sickness, showing that God desires wholeness for His people. No matter the source of affliction—whether physical or spiritual—Jesus stands as the ultimate healer, and His presence brings freedom and restoration. When you face sickness or oppression, remember that God is for you, and through Christ, you can experience deliverance and healing. [30:54]
Acts 10:38 (NKJV)
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."
Reflection: Is there an area of your life where you need to invite Jesus’ healing and deliverance today—physically, emotionally, or spiritually? Take a moment to pray specifically for His intervention.
Sickness entered the world through the disobedience of Adam and Eve, as sin brought death, decay, and disease into God’s perfect creation. Yet, even as humanity was infected with the “virus” of sin, God provided a remedy through Jesus Christ, who redeems us from the curse. Sickness is a symptom of the world’s fallen condition, but in Christ, we have hope for forgiveness, restoration, and the promise of divine health. [37:28]
Romans 5:12 (NKJV)
"Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—"
Reflection: In what ways do you see the effects of the fall in your own life or body, and how can you intentionally receive Christ’s redemption and healing today?
Persistent disobedience and rejection of God’s word can remove us from His protective covering, sometimes resulting in physical or spiritual affliction. God’s commands are given for our protection and well-being, not to limit us, and obedience positions us under His covenant of life and blessing. When we stray, God may allow sickness as correction, but He always desires our repentance and restoration. [49:18]
Exodus 15:26 (NKJV)
"...and said, 'If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.'"
Reflection: Is there an area where you sense God calling you to greater obedience? What step can you take today to realign your life with His commands?
Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and God expects us to care for them with wisdom and discipline. Unhealthy habits, neglect, and careless choices can open the door to unnecessary afflictions, but honoring God with our bodies is an act of worship and enables us to serve Him fully. Healthy living is not just a physical matter but a spiritual responsibility, reflecting our gratitude for the life God has given us. [58:43]
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV)
"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
Reflection: What is one practical change you can make this week to better steward your body as God’s temple?
Some sickness and weakness are simply part of human aging and the limitations of life in a fallen world. Yet, even as our outward bodies grow weak, God promises to renew our inner strength and sustain us with His grace. We need not fear natural decline, for our true healing and immortality are found in Christ, who gives us hope and endurance for every season of life. [01:08:34]
2 Corinthians 4:16 (NKJV)
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day."
Reflection: How can you shift your focus from physical limitations to God’s promise of inner renewal and strength today?
Today, we gathered to reflect on the profound truth that Jesus is alive, and because He lives in us, we are more than conquerors. This reality is not just a spiritual slogan but a foundation for how we approach every challenge, especially sickness. God desires our wholeness and health, and He has made provision for our healing through Christ. Yet, to walk in divine health, we must understand the sources of sickness, so we can respond with faith and wisdom rather than fear or confusion.
Sickness, as we explored, has multiple sources. First, it entered the world through the fall of man—Adam and Eve’s disobedience opened the door to sin, and with sin came death, decay, and disease. This is the root of all sickness, but Christ has redeemed us from the curse, offering forgiveness and restoration. Second, sickness can be the result of satanic and demonic oppression. The enemy seeks to afflict and destroy, but Jesus came to set the oppressed free, and His name is above every demonic affliction.
Third, disobedience to God’s commands can open the door to sickness. The Scriptures show that rebellion removes us from God’s protective covering, and sometimes God allows sickness as correction, not out of cruelty but to draw us back to Him. Fourth, unhealthy and unwise lifestyle choices—neglecting our bodies, poor diet, lack of rest, or substance abuse—can bring about sickness. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and caring for them is an act of worship and stewardship.
Finally, some sicknesses are simply the result of natural causes and human frailty. Aging, genetics, and environmental factors are part of living in a fallen world. Yet, even here, God can grant us strength and renewal, as He did for Caleb and others who trusted Him. In all these, the call is to examine our lives, walk in obedience, steward our bodies well, and trust God as our ultimate healer. No matter the source, God’s mercy and healing are available, and He invites us to come to Him with faith, repentance, and expectation.
Acts 10:38 (NKJV) — > "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."
Romans 5:12 (NKJV) — > "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—"
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV) — > "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
When sickness has demonic root, it must be resisted in the name of Jesus. Bible says, resist the devil and he what? He will flee. James 4, 7. Resist the enemy and he will flee. So in some cases, when you are able to tell that this is spiritual, you must not entertain it. [00:46:43] (27 seconds) #ResistDemonicSickness
Not every sickness is demonic, but all demonic sicknesses must bow to the name of Jesus. Not every sickness is demonic, but demonic sickness bow towards the name of Jesus. That’s one thing I want us to understand. [00:48:01] (17 seconds) #JesusOvercomesDemonicIllness
God’s commands protect us from harm and not limit us. The commandments of God is meant to protect us and not to limit us. Sometimes to appear as if our obedience of God’s command is kind of putting some limitation on us, but that is not the real intent. God knows better. And God, you know, sees what you cannot see. God hears what you cannot hear. [00:55:29] (27 seconds) #GodsCommandsProtectNotLimit
Obedience opens the door to God’s blessings and health. So even as I’ve said that, just take time, reflect on yourself and ask yourself, am I a child of God that is obedient to my father God or God my father? [00:57:21] (19 seconds) #ObedienceUnlocksBlessings
Healthy living is spiritual obedience. Healthy living is spiritual obedience. Steward your body well. And God’s instruments, you know, it’s God’s instrument for his glory. So if you take care of the body, God uses this same body to do many things. Bible said that you are a vessel. You are an instrument that God uses. [01:05:29] (28 seconds) #HealthyLivingIsObedience
Stewardship of the body is an act of worship. Stewardship of the body is an act of what? Worship. Taking care of your body honors God. So if you are taking care of your body, it means I want to be fit, I want to be strong, I want to be healthy, I want to be well. Am so that God can continue to use me. [01:06:27] (21 seconds) #BodyStewardshipIsWorship
Some sickness is simply part of the human aging and the limits of life in the fallen body. Because we live in a mortal body, in a fallen world, we experience weakness, aging and physical limitations. We are mortal, but we are mortal. Our bodies grow weak with time. Yet even in aging, God renews strength and gives grace to endure. [01:10:51] (35 seconds) #AgingIsPartOfFallenLife
